This place never fails to make their food fast, fresh, and absolutely delicious! You will not find any other place with vietnamese food quite like this one. My favorite has to be the mouth watering pork sliders that will undoubtedly want you coming back for more. I recommend this place 100% because you and your taste buds will not regret it!!!

I've been coming to this restaurant since it has opened and the quality and taste has not wavered at all! One of my favorite places to eat! I've tried just about everything on the menu and you can't go wrong.

This place is amazing in every way possible! Let me start by saying how clean the restaurant was and how I could tell that everything on my table was freshly made and given to me. Most of the time, pho places give you old basil or slimy limes, but everything was new and fresh. I felt so comfortable and pleased with how everything turned out. I love the staff, The atmosphere, and of course the food!!!!! The best experience I've had in a long time :]

Interesting restaurant. The sliders are a unique little appetizer. I wonder about the fact that this place uses no basil at all in their food. It is a flavor that I have come to expect in Vietnamese food and when it is substituted with cilantro I feel a bit cheated. Not bad though. Good sauces on the food. Excellent marinade on the pork. Some tiny bones in the chicken so be aware.

Great pho! Must try the NOLA roll, basically an egg roll wrapped into a spring roll, genius!!! Great service as always and very clean place.

Vegetarian Heaven. Since moving to Chicago, I can't stop thinking about this place. I keep typing 'lemongrass tofu' into yelp to no avail - hoping, praying, there is a version similar to Pho Bistreaux's. Sadface. No, there isn't. All I can ask is that they extend their delivery area by 950 miles (PLEASE?!).

Competes with pho tau bay. I know that's bold but very good and better wait staff.

Best Vietnamese this side of the river!. I'm an avid fan of Vietnamese cuisine. This place is by far the best on this side of the river. Their pho broth is excellent and the meat is good quality. Everything tastes very fresh from the spring rolls to the main courses. GO HERE!

I liked it. The food was good and the space was interesting. However I didn't find the food to be any different than any other Vietnamese restaurant in New Orleans

I love this place! It's a great addition to the uptown area. I frequent Pho Bang, Ma Bien (East), Nine Roses to name a few and this ranks right up there! Pho Bistreaux has fantastic spring rolls and the pho is delicious. They have a slight variation with and oxtail pho which is delightful! Their broth hits the spot! Service is stellar especially in comparison with other Vietnamese restaurants, the waitstaff just ignores you or after sitting for a min...they expect you to order. Authentic and delicious food!!

Pho Bistreaux is a great addition to the Vietnamese noodle houses popping up around town. We eat lots of Vietnamese, both in New Orleans and in Houston, and this place compares favorably to all of them. The grilled pork sliders were a great start to the meal. The shrimp bun with egg roll was fresh and savory. My son got the pork roll and pâté banh mi, packed with drag herbs and vegetables. Everything was fresh and tasty. If it hadn't been July we would have been tempted by the pho. The brisket and ox tail pho is on my list when the weather cools off. The service was friendly and helpful, it was a joy to eat here. We will be regulars here.

Surprising Food. I would skip to FOOD if you want to just hear about the food I ate.

When I first walked up I was reminded of the various establishments who had failed before this one. Walking in there were still hints left as well.

From the moment I began interacting with staff, there was no trace of previous eateries here. They were friendly, courteous and prompt. Seating, Drinks, and questions were given and answered in a very friendly manner. I noticed that the staff was not working solo either. Throughout my meal, the staff worked together to make sure every table was going well, and someone who I assume is part of management walked to each table to just strike up short conversation regarding the experience.

I was dismayed to hear they closed early, only to learn today that through feedback they have decided to expand their hours of operation. Customer service is something this location was missing before and has finally gotten now.

I was also very pleased with how clean the environment felt. So for a simple recap: Clean, Friendly, Courteous.

FOOD

The food was excellent. I started by ordering a chicken steamed bun and the nola roll. The steam bun was excellent, but they are not the only game in town to serve an excellent steam bun. The nola roll on the other hand was a first for me. It is a fried eggroll wrapped in a fresh roll.

What makes this work so well is that you have multiple layers of mixed flavor, texture, and temperature. Crispy roll on the inside with a slightly chewy roll on the outside. Warm crunch from the interrior eggroll mixed with the cool fresh sensation of the outside roll. It was simply a pleasure for me and it was a first.

Me and my significant other had the pho. She went with the combination beef. The broth was the exact combination of salty broth with a slightly sweet that I enjoy and the noodles were par for the course of good pho. What surprised me was the quality of the meat that was in this bowl, and how it complimented the ingredients so well. The brisket meat wasn't just the cheaper fatty parts, there was something to actually eat and chew on, which again, created a delightful texture combination with the noodles and broth.

My entree was the vegetarian pho as I have recently developed Gout, which limits how much I can eat of certain things. I have had vegetarian pho at nearly every establishment that has offered it. Each of them had similar variations of the sweet and salty onion based flavor that become my comfort food substitute. Normally it is veggie broth, noodles, and tofu. It's what I've come to expect.

Here on the other hand they actually added vegetables. Carrots, Broccoli, Tofu, and Cabbage not only help give texture and flavor diversity, but their flavors also get infused into the soup (which happens with chicken and beef variations as well). In Pho Bistreaux's case, these veggies added a delightful compliment of flavor that I haven't experienced in veggie pho yet.

While eating, the (assumed) manager came by and asked a few questions and talked to me about the restaurant and I felt less like a customer and more like guest invited into someone's home. They've managed to make me feel like a regular and I've only visited once thus far in their newly opened restaurant.

I can't recommend it enough to the city and to Oak street where I happen to call home.

Just what the Carrollton area needed! In the past year, various restaurants have opened down Oak St. and its newest addition is Pho Bistreaux. They have just recently opened but already have crowds of hungry patrons entering the restaurant and leaving satiated…

Steamed Buns changed my life!! Compared to other restaurants in the city and one even close by, these are by far the best. My wife and I had the beef brisket Pho and loved it! Can't wait to go back next time we are in town. I grew up in this neighborhood and I'm glad to see so many great restaurants in the area now. Update: 11/6/18 A couple of years ago my wife and I tried this place out, since it is very close to my dad’s house. It was the first time that either of us had tried Pho. Since that day, we have been going to any Vietnamese place we can find that has Pho. We always had the notion that PhoBistreaux had the best, but after a while we had tried so many new places, we weren’t sure. I’m glad to report that on our latest visit to see my dad, PhoBistreaux not only stacks up against everyone else, but they are still our favorite. I hate we only get to come a couple times a year, because if we lived closer, it would be a couple times a week for sure. On this visit, I had the Shrimp and Pork Belly “Sliders”. Which is just what they call their Bao Buns. My wife had the Brisket and Oxtail Pho. My wife loves Oxtail and so far, this has been the only time we’ve seen it in Pho. My Bao Buns were good, but not exactly how I remember them. I preferred the shrimp over the pork. We went twice while we were in New Orleans and on the second trip, by the recommendation from Dee, I tried the Beef Po’ Boy with a fried egg on top. The Po’ Boy is really more of a Banh Mi than it is a Po’ Boy, but being that both use a type of baguette, I guess calling it either is still correct. The Beef Po’ Boy was my favorite overall. It was so good and probably one of the best Banh Mi I’ve had. The fried egg wasn’t overpowering like I thought it would be and added even more flavor to an already awesome Po’ Boy. The food, the service, and the location were all a plus for us and we can’t speak highly enough about this place. My wife and I were kind of depressed as we passed by on our way out of town. I would recommend this place for sure. In what’s becoming an area crowded with restaurants, I still consider this place my favorite among them all. I’m counting the days down until our next visit.

I enjoyed eating at PHOBISTREAUX! This was the first time that my friend and I have ate Vietnamese food. I ordered the Pho Ga (Chicken noodle soup) with white meat. My friend ordered the Pho Bo (Beef noodle soup) with meatballs. We both enjoyed our pho. Our server was very welcoming and helped us decide which pho to order. I recommend eating at PHOBISTREAUX!

Second Time being here and also purchased the Vinh's special. This place makes good pho and is reopening. Thell have more egg rolls and other options in due time. They also have Sriracha for spicyness if pho is too bland. This store is off Carrolton and Oak so a well know New Orleans location

Ordered the egg roll vermicelli with shrimp, and the grilled chicken and rice with an egg roll for my daughter and, I for our Friday lunch (currently schooling and working remotely together every Friday). Everything was delicious. The egg rolls weren't my daughter's favorite, but I thoroughly enjoyed them. The veggies were very fresh and crisp. My daughter was very happy with her chicken and rice, she happily sat in silence eating. Another successful family lunch. Next time, we'll go in person for dine in service and cool drinks.

Great service. Faster service than I thought I'd be. Server was very nice! The grilled pork buns were very good! I also got the combination pho. Meatballs weren't great but brisket was delicious. The broth was very good as well.

I can’t wait to go back. Pho was delicious. Pork on soft bun with cilantro, carrots, ...my mouth is watering Just wishing I had some now! I have eaten there, and drove miles to pick up takeout. I will be taking friends and family there over and over. Staff are always nice and friendly.

The staff was super friendly. There was no wait around late lunchtime, which was nice. My girlfriend and I both thought the Boba drinks were pretty good, and so were the pork appetizers (forget the name). We both got vietnamese poboys, and they were also good. The shrimp in mine was cooked great. She got the pork and also enjoyed it.

The pho was pretty good, a bit salty and not enough bean sprouts but it’s a cute place and at a good price. I was surprised they had a cook cutting vegetables in the open kitchen NOT WEARING A MASK, during a pandemic! Every other employee was wearing one, so I hope they read this review and enforce more strictly this policy in order to put their customers at ease that they are taking this pandemic seriously.
