Wow, this place is amazing. Warm welcoming and friendly. I was only there for a few moments before i felt like i had been coming for years. The food was such a pleasure that I came back for dinner.
Grabbed a late dinner tonight, Duck Confit, coconut rice cake, salad and edible flowers, for under $20. This place is insane. The food rocks my world, the staff is friendly and gracious, and the food, the FOOD!!!! I almost hope the rest of New Orleans never discovers this treasure!! XOXOXOXOXOOXOX
Suis Generis food was excellent and fresh, the staff is very friendly! Decor is eclectic artsy, definitely will go again!!
Close to home, relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff, always changing menu, delicious food at a fair price!!
Good people make good food. Get your ass here! Get a drink, share meals (cuz you should try all of them), and love.
Geat space. Great food. Great energy. Taco night was excellent and I can't wait to try every other night.
Crazy good, out of this world. Best breakfast burrito ever. Would love to see what they can do with ice cream
Loved the casual atmosphere and the fact they change the menu weekly. The food was unique and delicious. I highly recommend.
Can't wait to get back there! The food was great and unbelievably cheap. Service was excellent. Written on the chalkboard outside was, "Our food wants you to eat it." So happy to oblige!
The food was very good and on Sat brunch is wonderful music.

The food was phenomenal. Really fresh and local. I'll definitely come back next time I'm in town.

I LOVE SUIS GENERIS. There are no words. Everything from the vibe to the service to the odd combinations of food items that always turn out freakin' incredible. The price is more than right too. Don't ever leave us, Suis Generis.
Yummy noms! Breakfast burrito was awesome. Nice vibe! <3
Fresh ingredients and ever changing menu. Very friendly staff also.
I love fresh food...brunch... and booths , i love booths!
Super fresh, super seasonal menu changing week to week. For locals a true blessing since so many restaurants in town have little impetus to change things since they rarely see there same customer twice in year. "When I was here five years ago you had this amazing blah blah blah why don't you have that? I came back for that!"
This is an eclectic a little eatery in the Bywater district of New Orleans. We ended up here after the power went out for several blocks around our intended dinner spot. We were directed here by the locals from that restaurant and needless to say, we were pleasantly surprised! They offer several craft cocktails as well as a selection of bottled/canned beers. I had the Tiki Farm Basil Curry, which is a vegan green curry with tofu that was well prepared and delicious! There were a couple of other vegan and vegetation options on the menu as well. A friend ordered the Vasco de Gama Bouillabaisse and enjoyed it, but said he was not sure about the flavor combo, which was a lemon grass infused, Asian leaning concoction. My daughter had the Farmer's Salad and the Heritage Berkshire Pork Chop accompanied by a Burmese-spiced coconut based sauce. Both were fresh and delicious. Our only complaint was that the menu was a bit scattered. Italian mezze, Thai curry, farmer's salad, pork chop, Portuguese bouillabaisse, Asian fish cakes. I understand the whole fusion movement in dining, but not sure that they had it quite right. That said, I would definitely give this place another try. It seems that the menu changes and I would love to see what they come up with next.
What a great evening at Suis Generis. The server/bartender is an incredibly kind soul - open, authentic, warm. We connected immediately. The drinks were delicious (and strong) - I had the housemade chili lime-ade with bourbon. Food was good - small plates are small, so if you have an appetite, get a larger plate. The atmosphere was super chill, and like other places I’ve experienced in NOLA, everyone is so friendly and generous with their kindness. So glad I tried this place.
I cannot recommend this place enough! My boyfriend and I have been many times and are always impressed with their shifting menu and creative choices! I had the best dirty gin martini here, and I love the calm and inviting atmosphere. The staff is super friendly and knowledgeable. It’s tucked away and feels like a secret gem. Can’t wait to go back again!
After visiting Suis Generis for the 3rd time, I have to leave it a 5 star review. The weekly changing menu is a fantastic idea and this restaurant always manages to deliver a delicious and experimental experience. I love visiting new orleans because of restaurants like this. The service is always kind, the drinks are great, and the atmosphere is completely laid back. Just fantastic!
I stopped in on a whim. This place is an absolute hidden gem!
The menu changes every week so it's a different experience constantly. The best day to go is Sunday.
LOVED the coconut sticky rice with cherries.
Cozy atmosphere with a great and knowledgeable staff. The owners are good people who definitely put love into their food. Their menu changes but if there is a way for you to get the miso soup, DO IT!!! The chili-limeade with caçhaca was amazing. It was soo good, not only did we go for brunch but we ended up there for dinner as well. I look forward to going back!
There are three things I do when I go to New Orleans and eating here is one of them. Thanks again for an excellent food experience. The lasagna was fabulous and loved the cheesecake. See you next time!
This restaurant is exceptional. Great decor, great staff, great food. Go have a fabulous unique and special dinner - it’s an old school experience and it’s great. Can’t recommend this restaurant enough.
My favourite Restaurant in town by far. The word to describe everything in there is Authentic. You must go and don’t be afraid of trying anything at the everyweek changing menu. I admire and respect the owner.
My boyfriend and I celebrated our anniversary here last night- and it was perfect. We had our first date there last year, and have since returned to celebrate each of our birthdays there since. The food is always fantastic, the service is as well- and knowing it was a special occasion, they took extra care of us. We shared 3 small plates and each were wonderful- and plenty of food- we never made it to dessert, sadly. Highly recommend, if you’re in the neighborhood.
First time in last night. Creative, varied menu, reasonably priced. We will definitely be back.
Excellent place, a little off the beaten path but the food is soooo good! Kind of hipster junk store decor, New American, farm to table style food, small but creative menu. Anytime I'm staying in the Bywater I come here.
One of my fav restaurants!! Always something new and delicious
Great food and drinks. I had the duck breast with smoked edamame. Excellent service, amazing music, and great art on the walls.
Such a great lil spot....menu changes weekly. Taco Thursday was incredible.
My absolute 1st choice resturtant in Louisiana and maybe across the U.S. The menu is truly updated every week and is always fresh, delicious, and creative.
The drinks are always on point and the atmosphere is very casual and inviting.
This is a place for the open/adventureous eater. I generally go here with 2-3 friends and order 90% of the menu. This food is not for everyone! But for those it is for, it is one of the most unique food experiences in the city.
To top it off, 90% of the menu normally brings us to about $110-$150 and thats for 2-4 people to eat. EXCELLENT bang for the buck!
A hidden gem! My friend took my here while I was visiting and let me tell you....the absolute best meal I have ever had. So fresh and so delicious. Do yourself a favor and check them out. You will not be disappointed.
