My favorite neighborhood restaurant in New Orleans offering delicious authentic Mexican fare that never disappoints! The friendly staff make you feel right at home while Chef Lindsay & Chef Mario create masterpieces of fresh, locally sourced, dishes with a variety of unique daily specials. The hanger steak tacos are absolutely devine, as are the enchiladas, Chilquiles, and huevos rancheros. With a full menu all day you can enjoy breakfast or lunch any time, and the back patio is a sanctuary of banana trees, wrought iron, and tropical colors. This restaurant has my highest recommendation.

We stopped in for a late-ish lunch. Everything was fresh and tasty, from the cocktails to the tacos. It looked like they weren't expecting as many diners as they had, so the one server was a little busy, but she handled it like a champ. We'll be back!

Absolutely one of our favorite restaurants in New Orleans. The food is beyond fantastic, fresh, and bright with deep flavors. These taste like family recipes in the hands of a talented chef. The restaurant itself feels family owned and is welcoming and warm. Since our first visit we have been back three weekends in a row it is so satisfying!

I went today for the first time, and let me just say, this place is AMAZEBALLS! From the waitstaff, the food, and overall atmosphere. Everything was beyond amazing. Everyone was super friendly and the food was delicious. By far the best chips and salsa I've ever had! Can't wait to go back!

Absolutely phenomenal Mexican food!! I came 2 days in a row and sat at the bar by myself. I think I have a problem now. No way I'll be able to eat regular Mexican food anymore! This time I got the Queso, Plantains, and the Fish tacos! And the Watermelon Margarita was so so good!!!!

Fantastic food. Small place. Chef/owner is great. Took a larger group not long after they opened. They are still working out the kinks in timing and service which is totally expected. Go. Some of the best Mexican and Central American food in the city.

New to me place. The Peacock in English. Great service and excellent food. Deep, rich, flavors. Good prices. My 13 year old even loved it. I had enchiladas, and he had a burrito. The guacamole was great, and so were the plantanes. Solid place. We will go back.

I do, really love El Pavo Real. Their flan is just divine. I also absolutely adore their enchiladas. They are some of the best I've had, and are also a kid favorite. Its pretty kid friendly, i love how they take the kids drawings and put them on the walls. There's also great chalk art, El Pavo Real is a must-go to when your in broadmoor, New Orleans.

One of my all time favorites… best tamales in Louisiana. Great service, food and killer drinks. Margaritas are on point and the beer is nice and cold. Love the atmosphere… a little “seat yourself” cafe style. The food is super fresh, house made tortillas and rotating specials, all a great price. 😎👍

I’ve never had a bad meal here. Probably the best and most authentic Mexican food in the city. The servers are all so nice. Get any special they have! Always a solid choice. Definitely would recommend the crab and avocado quesadilla, fish tacos, and breakfast burrito. Their happy hour is also solid. I only wish they were open later!

One of the best Mexican restaurants in New Orleans. Tender carnitas, the best mole, and great breakfast too! Easy parking.

10/10. Best Mexican food in the city. Unlike a lot of "boutique" mexican restaurants in this city, they make their tortillas in-house. Homey dining room that felt like my grandmas house. This is as authentic as it can get here. Will be returning. Food is priced great for the quality and the taste.

We absolutely love Mexican food. This was a refreshing treat to have some not out of a can. 5 stars all the way! Do yourself a favor and don’t pass this place.

Service was great, we had a 20 min wait but our hostess was kind and attentive, so was our waiter. I had the chicken enchiladas which were a little bland and underwhelming. The queso was great however and the margaritas strong.

If I die and go to heaven, El Pavo will exist there. This is a family owned and operated local joint, everything made in house from scratch, and it shows in the food and the service. 1000 stars, don’t miss this place!

A wonderful neighborhood gem. Their authentic Mexican food is fresh and they serve up many unique twists on the staple menu items that are in most Mexican restaurants. Fabulous menu and very attentive and friendly servers. All set in a bright atmosphere (albeit a somewhat noisy one at peak times.) Very nice outdoor area if you prefer al fresco.

Amazing food, drinks and service. Must-go! The piña colada was made with the freshest ingredients as was the watermelon Margarita! The coconut Shrimp was amazing as well. It's definitely a blend of cultures, not just Hispanic flavors. Can't wait to go back! I also love the location, so discrete I barely even noticed it. Not much room for big parties but great for 2-4 size tables.

This place is basic, the food is basic and the staff treats patrons like children. With that said I had a good meal and enjoyed a couple of beers. Will I be back regularly? No and they have ensured that I won't. It's not a bad spot by any means but it's discouraging new business to return. Please try the place and make your own decisions.

Super fresh ingredients! The family recipe mole on the mole chicken is not to be missed. If there were such a thing as Mexican curry, it would be their chipotle coconut shrimp entree. Did I mention the fresh made chips and tortillas? Super friendly server Jess took great care of us. Try the fresh squeezed lime margarita.
