We grabbed a quick bite here with a large group doing a walk in right at the opening. The staff was super accommodating even moving umbrellas to help block out some sun. Our cocktails were across the board creative delicious and fun between the 16 of us we tried everything and everyone was passing drinks up and down the table. The menu changes constantly so no specific recommendations but certainly try a few of their specialties. Food wise the burger was a stand out one of the best in the area. We also had a salted fish dip that was hard not to eat every bite myself instead of sharing. We sat in the back patio and while not anything special was very comfy and great for our large group. Overall this was one of the best places we tried and it beat the pants off several of the more touristy locations.

If you want a really great cocktail in the Quarter, come here. My husband and I have been fortunate enough to come to Jewel twice. They always have great cocktails that are always changing. The bartenders are clearly talented and do a great job. We have also enjoyed some small snacks as well. A wonderful spot for a cocktail. We look forward to coming again on our next trip. And for being one of the Top 50 bars in the world and winning the awards they have, the prices are really low. Take advantage of this!!!!

We had a fantastic experience for dinner. They are obviously best known for the cocktails, but I think the unique food is overlooked. The menu is certainly unlike typical New Orleans restaurants, but our waiter was very knowledgeable and patiently answered our questions. He recommended the haggis, and it might have been the best bites of the entire dinner. The oysters, short rib, and the turnips were all great as well. We will definitely be back to try more of the menu and dessert.

Beautiful, quaint little place. Food was delicious. They did a wonderful job converting this little house into a restaurant. There's a cute courtyard in the back for outdoor seating. The menu was creative and unique. Service was impeccable. Cocktails were amazing. Overall wonderful place. I'm glad we got to visit.

We came here a few times. We love a highly touted cocktail program and this is the spot in New Orleans. The bartenders were so knowledgeable and kind and the space felt really intimate. The cocktails were great, I can't see myself going to NOLA and not stopping in here.

We stopped here for a cocktail on a Saturday night, and it was packed. There were no seats at the bar, nor was there a table available, but we were able to grab a drink and sit out front. While waiting, a large party left, so we were able to sit in the courtyard. The cocktails were delicious. The staff were super friendly and professional. The music playing was perfect. It was a whole vibe. I hope to go back for a bite to eat one day.

Very unique food and beverage spot! Excellent service. It's more of an experience than an actual dinner. Courtyard seating was lovely but very hot and the bugs were horrible in the middle of a heat wave in southern LA. I definitely knew better...Overall, I enjoyed it and would like to try again! Perhaps, chicken or steak?

This is what modern southern hospitality cumulated in its highest form looks like! Jewel of the South is - well a true gem! On all individual accounts: food (soulfully rich yet well balanced and exciting all at the same time) 5/5, drinks 5/5 (innovative, tasty, & hits the right spot with shoutout to fun cultural references - actually this applies to food dishes too, lol); and of course, customer service 5/5 where just amazing. So so when you put these factors altogether, Jewel of the South is. Just. Fantastic! Specifically, Kendall & Annie were absolutely wonderful. I’m super grateful to Kendall for her flexibility & letting me schedule a late night dinner [due to work & travel conflicts] + Annie and the kitchen staff really brought meaning into what I call modern southern hospitality. The Jewel of the South team seriously balanced food recommendation + execution (visual & olfactory presentation, timeliness from order to tabling time flavor & texture balance - a lovely richness of creaminess or sauciness or bolder flavors paired with with good acidity, flora (veggie or fruit) or well yet tenderly & moist cooked protein). Annie worked miracles - I confess I came in close to the last ordering time, so we had a quick discussion of my go to food & libation & appetizer size preference & Annie seemed to know me so well even after just an abbreviated food discussion: I went with most of her top recs for me and l. Am. So. Glad. I. Did. I got the Celeraic (creamy yet refreshing + healthy with their take celery root + fun whimsical flora including pickled grapes). It may be Southern cuisine with more decadent takes on meals but chefs at Jewel of the South know how to balance unctuousness with acidity & aromatic alliums (also I virtually loved just seeing that pop of green on my dishes so it’s not a sea of monotonous color- really helps to brighten up & also whet the appetite visually). I also got the snapper with allium & I usually don’t like white fish (my go to is salmon), but this was so well put together (again balance was key)- I would hands-down order it again. And drinks + dessert were just great: I got the gingersnap pina colada (a bolder but well balanced sweet drink w/ strong rum) + Eccles cake (the honey spiced raisins fruit party + stilton cheese was such a lovely pairing of sweet & savory, and coffee w/ brandy cocktail - super smooth with delicate foam that thoughtfully & ergonomically helps minimize spills over the edge + cute yet minimal coffee bean decorations & the glass vessel in came in was just perfect - it was an easy to hold mini-v glass since I detest martini glasses that spill easily. The only thing I wouldn’t order again is the Parkin - mind u, it’s not bad - just not a home run & to be fair this one’s on me: Annie had recommended Eccles based on my preferences I shared but I thought Parkin also sounded cool & had to try it out. (Btw, did I mention food & drinks came out relatively fast while looking & tasting spot on?! This is really not an easy feat so huge Kudos to JotS!) So to recap: if u want a solid, well-balanced dining & drinking experience in NOLA, I would hands down recommend this place!

Overall, a pretty good dining experience! Last night I attended a special prix fixe menu dinner ($85) at Jewel of the South. We started with cocktails, all of which were delicious. The first three courses were divine (list of menu items below). I especially loved the salt baked celeriac with root vegetables. I hadn't had anything like it before. The seasonal squash with pâté was also remarkable. Unfortunately, the main, the duck hearts, was a miss for everyone at our table. It was cold and bland. The gravy was pretty good though, and we requested some extra bread for it. Despite none of us at the table eating our main, none of the staff inquired about whether we liked it, or if there was a problem, which was a missed opportunity to make it right. The dessert was also tasty, though unfortunately I think the main had soured the meal at that point. I've eaten at Jewel of the South twice before and the food was delicious both other times, so overall I would still highly recommend it. Shrimp Cocktail | Crabfat Mayo, Beans Salt Bake Celeriac | Root Vegetables Pâté à la Courge | Seasonal Squash, Country Pate, Mustard & Pickled Onion Duck Heart & Mezcal Gravy | Peas Blood & Bone Doughnut

This spot serves amazing drinks and food! The service is excellent and you can truly feel the passion of the chef and staff. The cocktails are perfectly balanced and like nothing I've ever tried. The food is super creative and enjoyable! I also feel that I can eat and drink here without completely blowing my entire month's budget like other lovely places. I highly recommend Jewel of the South to anyone looking to try something new, date night, taking your in town relatives out, and to all the foodies!

Had high expectations of this place, but was a little disappointed with the food. A lot of unique and fun options on the menu, but overall the taste was just ok. The broccoli rabe in the bath chaps was extremely bitter and fibrous, it was hard to eat.

Great cocktails. You will need to step out of your comfort zone to eat here. We had blood pudding and a chicken/pigs feet ravioli type dish. Both were absolutely delicious. Never tasted anything like these dishes before. You will spend some money and you will not be "full" at the end. Its an culinary experience, a chance to try something totally different. Staff was great. We had lots of questions about the menu and they were very informative and pleasant.

Everything we ordered was delicious! Service is top notch. The courtyard is cute, just make sure you ask for a table close to a working fan if you are dining here on a hot summer day.

OFF THE BEATEN PATH, 100% WORTH FINDING - we were recommended this place by friends, and what a gorgeous place this is. We were there for Sunday brunch prior to jazz fest and had a wonderful experience. Hipster staff serve well executed cocktails and unique food from the tiniest kitchen. NOLA has so many dining options, but please check this place out… !!! AMBIENCE - this place is so cute, attention to detail is perfect, such an intimate space for dining too! SERVICE - well informed staff guided us through a menu that is perhaps different (in a really great way) with some heavy influences from the UK. Go say hi to Grant the English chef, he really is turning out excellent food that is highly unique! MENU - can’t speak highly about the food on offer, every dish was fantastic, let the staff guide you, and be adventurous- BOOZE - loved the cocktails, wine list was good too, and some great local beers. SUMMARY - can’t recommend this place highly enough, it’s in a relatively out of the way locale, but worth a visit. We will be back for sure!

Fabulous! Eye opening flavors! The cocktails were top notch! My husband and I went for our anniversary and we were served a welcome drink! We went all out for the caviar which is delicious and 3 plates which could easily be shared. As well as a desert! Its not a place for picky eaters but for a special occasion and you want to explore your taste pallet, go for it!
