This is a second location from the original in Gentilly...the dining room was empty except for us at the height of lunch hour. But the food was delicious , file gumbo (with the ground sassafras of their namesake ) was the best we have found in NOLA, and the shrimp po'boy was just right. Service was warm and friendly. I hope business picks up....they deserve it .

Our first attempt, came in too late and the fryer was turned off an hour before closing. Second attempt: fantastic! Great service, huge portions, and their gumbeaux is better than The Creole House!

We watched the Saints game and enjoyed the vegetarian trio and it was delicious. The crowd was live and lots of fun. Looking forward to our next chance to be here.

Inexpensive po boys, good lunch in general at a good price. A pleasant surprise. Good service too. I recommend it.
