This is a hidden gem! If I worked or lived closer I would order greens and smothered pork chop everyday. The staff is friendly and there's a nice sitting area to enjoy your lunch. I've tried their ribs and wasn't impressed because they were tough. Overall the good outweighs the bad.

What I had was just ok.. I had the catfish plate. I got (2) thin fillets and they were actually a bit dry and over-cooked, the potato salad was so-so and tasted like it was missing that certain something, the macaroni cheese sauce had the consistency of kraft dinner cheese sauce but the macaroni noodles were big, I believe they make the cheese sauce themselves because I could taste a lot of paprika and tastes like real cheese may have been used, I didn't touch the corn. I paid $9.80 tax included I don't feel the meal was worth it. I would go back to try other menu items.
Pros: Hmmmmm? Cons: May be crowded with long waits depending on time of day.

So-so Soul-l-l-l-l. Catfish plate came with two nice fillets, though a little overcooked for my taste. The side of potato salad was excellent, also included small salad. My co-worker/friend who recommended the place, knew of my turkey-neck addiction, and gave me one of hers, which I wish had had more seasoning. Enjoyed the peach cobbler, though our guest thought it was "too sweet." The lemonade was very good, I believe it's made in-house. The BBQ is only offered on Thu & Fri (heavy sigh)....

Good soul food dive. Open til 4:30pm. Total soul food dive. I loved the smother pork chop -- very tender, and for $8 came with good mustard greens and nice, great yams, and so-so corn bread. My meal came fast, though others were slower. The catfish was not as good as the pork chop. 3/10.

A very unique dinning experience. They have a large menu on the wall after making your selection you walk to the window and order and wait for your number. After collecting the food. I was pleasantly surprised with huge portions of fish and all the sides. The potato salad was good, a little bit on the mustard side. The macaroni and cheese was out of this world amazing!! The corn was very nice. It had a large flavor and was excellent with the fish. The only thing that would have made it better is a little bit of tartar sauce for dipping, but other than that amazing experience!!

No frills eatery. I don't know how this place stays under the radar but even Stevie Wonder and other celebs have been here. Mostly visited by regulars as I was one before I moved. Their greens are my favorite hands down. The workers are always nice, and the lemonade is yummy!!

We almost didn't see the place because the sign is faded, and it's on the bottom floor of what looks more like an apartment building. It's definitely got a very clean, but hole-in-the-wall family restaurant atmosphere. We ordered a seafood platter, greens and smothered pork chop plate, and a half lemonade-half sweet tea drink for very inexpensive prices for the amount of food and quality we got. It was a very good value. It was my boyfriend's first time eating at the restaurant, and he has lived in NOLA 15 years and ate soul food growing up. He said the yams reminded him of plates brought to his family at holiday time from Black southern families. The fried fish was crispy and flaky. As soon as I tasted the greens, I said, "That's what greens are supposed to taste like." The pork chop was so tender, eating it with a spork was no problem. I will definitely be back to try their ribs and fried chicken. If I had to cater an event or wanted to get take out for a family party, I would not hesitate to order food from here. All the staff were very friendly! Loved it!

We got here just as the dining room was closing. We ordered the neckbones and they were very tender and delicious. The red beans and rice were good also.
