The flavor of the fried chicken was absolutely delicious and juicy. The fries had a delightful kick to them but not overpowering. Perfectly sweetened cornbread, and you can't go wrong with the Mac n cheese. Don't mind the take-out box the server thought we wanted it to go. Friendly staff. I'm definitely hitting this spot up again.

First trip to Louisiana and it was not going to be complete without some Soul Food. We came upon Suzie's and something said this was the spot. Oh. My. Sweet. Taste buds! It was delicious! The fried chicken was crispy and sooo flavorful. I had the Mac and cheese and corn and they were also seasoned to perfection and I think my plate was empty in a matter of minutes and I didn't even care how I looked like I hadn't been fed in years while I was devouring my meal. If you're in New Orleans, run, don't walk, to Suzie's. A+ 👍🏽

Listen!!! This place is definitely a hidden gem in NOLA! Our server was the sweetest, the atmosphere was everything. We had reservations at Houston’s but changed our plains at the last minute and SUSIE’S SOULHOUSE DID NOT DISAPPOINT!! FOOD WAS AMAZING! THATS THE POST! This will be “my place” to visit every time I visit NAWLINS 💯💯💯

Absolutely nothing bad to say. This place was everything! Food was AMAZING! Everything was super fresh and you can really taste all the seasonings. We had an opportunity to meet Suzie’s daughter. She was so kind and took care of us so well! Will def come back next time I’m in NOLA.

My wife and I are staying at the Quizby hostel so we decided to try Suzie's as it is located only steps away from us. I ordered the fried chicken with the Mac and cheese and the jambalaya. I was amazed with how good it all was. Each part of the meal was exploding with flavor, I especially liked the texture of the macaroni. The staff was very friendly and attentive. Our beverages never got too low before a fresh one was on the table. I would absolutely go back here when in town.

Talk about your hidden gems. This place is a MUST try, in the city. The service is outstanding and beautifully, encompasses southern hospitality, and the food is absolutely superb. These were just some of the sides they offered, but it was wonderfully filling on its own. It's off the beat of the tourist trap restaurants, which we tried, but honestly, this place beat them all! Don't leave NOLA without eating here.

The food was amazing, the catfish was made to order so it did take a while to come out but they told me that when ordering. My sister got the fried chicken and all of our food was fresh and delicious.

Skip the tourist trap places to eat when in Nola, came across Suzie's soulhouse which was close to hotel. First meal had the second line pasta, enjoyed so much I changed plans and returned the next day for the fried chicken which was the best I have had in many years! Atmosphere was nice, the folks running it were great! Can not beat prices, portion sizes and food was excellent

OH. MY. GOD. The food is SO GOOD!! And the service is impeccable! They truly provide that southern hospitality treating you as if you’re a member of their family. The fried chicken is SO FLAVORFUL, Juicy and tender, it just falls of the bone! The Mac and cheese is so good too! The collard greens were a tad bit too salty for my taste, but they were still pretty good. I love how they accommodate special requests too, the inside is a vibe as well it has soul kitchen vibes with classic rnb hits playing and charming decor. I LOVE THIS PLACE! Definitely a gem in Nola if you love home cooked southern food like mom used to make, this place is it!! And the prices are very reasonable!!

This is some of the best food in all of New Orleans. The smothered pork chops, the red beans, jambalaya, the shrimp pasta are some of my favorites. Service is always friendly and courteous. They also have the best prices in the downtown area. If you are looking for a quality soul food experience, you should eat here.

EAT HERE. Total hidden gem that somehow nobody seems to know about. Staying in a nearby AirBnB, came in on a Saturday evening with the goal of avoiding crowded tourist traps, and was literally the only customer the whole time. Food was amazing (I got the Catfish St. Charles with Garlic Mashed Potatoes), huge portions. Andrea the owner was warm and friendly, even lit a candle for me. Food took longer than I expected to be ready, but I was in no hurry, and it was totally worth the wait.

Went there almost at close for the first time and was accommodated well to say to least. I order the special Fried catfish and just subd the fries and a order of greens , and I wasn't disappointed. Fish was fried hard to my liking and food was hot and good for me..

Great place to dine for soulfood. The food was delicious. Wasn't greasy and cooked fresh to order. Service was very welcoming and friendly. I recommend trying the Susie's Boathouse Platter for a variety of options to taste.

In from the 716🦬 and we found this absolute gem of a spot. Mom Suzie in the kitchen, daughter working the counter. Food was smackin. Crazy good fried chicken, cornbread, Mac n cheese, kickin Crawfish pasta … and very affordable! Right on St Charles, (streetcars rule!) nearby the WWII museum. Hafta go there. Bourbon St is for fools imo, it’s these places that you get da real New Orleans ‘ting. Big up ya self Queen Suzie! 🦬❤️’s y’all. Go Bills.

What a hidden gem! I regret not taking photos of the food. The wait is every bit worth it as everything is made fresh to order. I had Catfish St. Charles with a side of mashed sweet potatoes and my husband and daughter had fried chicken, fries, mac and cheese, corn bread, and greens. Everything was EXCEPTIONAL and we cleared our plates and left full and happy. The inside is charming: good music, great customer service, and a comfortable place to enjoy amazing food.

Very professionally, clean, response time is extraordinary and we enjoy their dishes especially the shrimp and grits is one of our many favorites. We also tried the seasoning and it gives your food a great taste. This is our go to place for catering service. Whenever they have suppers, we more then likely order. This was a recent purchase of the stuffed peppers, macaroni n cheese, greens, cornbread and cold drink. The Bonus for us, you get your coins worth! If I can give 10 stars I would for excellency!
