Lively little locally owned coffee shop. Bakes its own pastries, and has its espresso blend and coffee blend coffee custom roasted in New Jersey. Yes, that’s not an off-Broadway punch line, even though it sounds like one.
Kathy Terrill- I Love To Be Selling
As a small business owner myself, I strive to make purchases from small businesses in NYC and not large chains.
Frisson is a TERRIFIC small business coffee shop. There coffee is flat out AMAZING. The owner explained to me the careful process he uses to purchase beans, which come form another small business in Brooklyn.
I work from home as an eBay seller and selling consultant, so I like to step away from my desk several times a day, and stopping by Frisson is a favorite destination.
I've had their cappuccino, lattes, hot chocolate and chocolate chip cookies. All terrific.
I've had children with me for a few visits, as they love Frisson hot chocolate. The staff is SUPERB with kids. I mention this as not all Manhattan eateries are the greatest with kids,
Seating is available but very limited. But that being said, the few times I've met seller friends for a coffee we've always been able to grab a seat. Our favorite table is the one right by the window. There is also 1 table with two chairs right outside.
When you're in the area, stop by. It's well worth it. You will not be dissapointed!

I had Frisson espresso saved on my places to try for the longest time and finally I tried it out. A quick walk from the times square this little coffee place has great coffee and the baristas here are amazing! A great conversation while brewing an amazing cup of coffee.
If you love art on your coffees they are artistic and will make you some great coffee art.
Not a lot of places spend time doing so.
Great coffee! Great art! Great barista!

Nice little coffee shop, with just plain good coffee. Nothing fancy with quick service. The ham & cheese croissant was nicely warmed up and very flaky. Ham was a bit on the salty side but it's ham.

This is the cutest little coffee shop and their coffee is amazing! We came here three days straight during our NYC trip and loved it so much. Would highly recommend the hazlenut latte. Oh and they do amazing latte art and the staff is very friendly too!

Got an oat milk latte. The coffee flavor was great. The milk was not steamed uniformly though. Still a good coffee shop to visit.
The cafe is named after the French word "frisson" which means "thrill" and refers to the thrill you get when you get your coffee.

Nice workers and delicious coffee. A bit expensive but probably the norm for the area. The coffee tastes really good :)

Had a lovely vanilla latte. The service was great and the espresso was smooth. I’d recommend this spot. My latte had the perfect amount of vanilla flavor without being sweet.

Coffee is delicious which is what you want for your quaint neighborhood coffee shop! It is small, so don’t expect a seat. Food is good. Staff were super friendly and enjoyable

Stumbled upon this cute coffee shop on my walk and was immediately welcomed by friendly staff and the aroma of fresh espresso. I ordered a dirty chai to-go but was suggested to dine-in and drink it fresh. I’m glad I took heed. My bev was very tasty and the cute latte art was the cherry on top. 10/10 will come back.

Great coffee shop. Robert is an amazing barrista. I highly recommend this coffee shop! The beans are medium roast and not burnt giving them a lot more flavor.

Beautiful coffee. Smooth and delicious. Such lovely staff too :)

Beautiful latte art even on macchiato! Coffee is not bitter or strong but tastes smooth. The space is tiny and feels a little outdated, but would be good for quick, short conversations.

Lovely coffee with beautiful latte art and the staff are always super friendly and up for a chat! Love coming here for a coffee in the morning.

Great little coffee shop. It's pretty small inside, seating for about 10-15 people total. The staff was friendly and my oat latte was strong and tasty. The chai latte was spicy and delicious as well. Only feedback is next time I would ask for my drink extra hot.

A nice coffee shop tucked away on 47th between 8/9... No frills but a bit of attitude. Friendly staff welcomed me to dine in and crafted a tasty cortado which was balanced and lightly creamy. Several good looking bake options, I was tempted by the scone but settled in the mini pecan pie as it was an item I don't see in many places. I got mine toasted up...I would recommend just going with it at room temperature instead if you like pecan pie sweetness, as the warming also continued to toast the top. A delicious two-bite snack.

I'll say 4 Stars because their rating at this time is 4.7, which seems a bit high, and since STUPID GOOGLE only let's you grade places a 60, 80, or a 100, which is ludicrous.
I've been here a few times. Coffee is excellent, so if that's your only focus, this is a good choice. They've been here a while and have coffee down but need to expand. Their food options are very limited, and the Kiesh I had was so so at best.
