Easily the best dining experience I have ever had. Sat at the bar and ordered most of the menu, had some stunning cocktails and wine. Service was beyond outstanding and the food was tremendous. Feel incredibly lucky to have been able to experience it all. Can’t wait to go back.
As a Korean, I have been to many Korean restaurants in New York.
This was where I could understand the value of why they got two Michelin stars.
It was amazing to be able to express Korean food like this.
The services of the servers were touching and classy.
I visited because it was my birthday, and I felt sincerely congratulated.
If you want to experience the high quality of Korean food, make a reservation.
My husband and I went here for our 1st wedding anniversary and we super happy about our experience. The food was delicious and was surprisingly very filling. Expensive but definitely worth it, especially for a special occasion! (My friends also gave me a gift card here so that helped for sure.)
We did the nonalcoholic pairing which was fun, since it was a week day and we ate on the later side. This was something that was new and would definitely recommend if you can spend the extra money!
They went above and beyond and printed out the menu along with the nonalcohol pairings for each dish. This was such a wonderful surprise! The staff was very nice and the restaurant is beautiful and modern inside. Also love that there is no official dress code either. Makes it feel way more welcoming than one may think!
Would definitely recommend coming here since the food was delicious!
Incredible dining experience in every way. The waitstaff were impeccable, and the food was both fantastically delicious and creative. I will be dreaming about the wagyu gomtang mandoo and yellowtail kimbap for years to come! And the whimsy of the carrot dessert is just delightful, as is the taste. Truly, Jungsik is one of the best restaurants I've ever had the pleasure of dining at, and I sincerely hope I get another opportunity to visit again.
This was me and my husband’s first experience at a Michelin star restaurant and it was amazing.
We chose to do non-alcoholic wine pairings because we have two kids to come home too 😂
If you had to pick 1 thing from the supplemental menu, get the NY Soul Ice cream (I forgot what it was called exactly)!
Service was timely and professional.
Surprisingly, we were both full by the end of it despite the small portions.
We would come here again!
The best Korean fine dining I've ever had. (I enjoy Atomix as well, but Jungsik is just sublime.) The wine pairing was well done and generous; if you don't drink a lot like myself, I'd recommend you skip it otherwise you'll end up with a table full of wine glasses...
Fusion done right. Jungsik’s cooking is both Korean AND French rather than a half-hearted middle ground. The tasting menu felt sleek and streamlined, one of the best I’ve had this year.
Jungsik has many signature dishes that have been refined for a long time, including the octopus and the uni add-on. My requirement to be happy with a tasting menu is at least one dish that wows me. Here, I counted seven. The food was so delicious, I wouldn’t mind repeating the exact same meal.
The atmosphere is a stuffy white tablecloth kind of fine dining, but the elegance of the setting befits the food. The waitstaff were attentive and practiced with a good sense of timing.
Jungsik needs to be more transparent about gratuity. I was automatically charged 22 percent of the post-tax bill (effectively a 24 percent tip). I didn’t mind much because the service was excellent, but it should’ve been stated at the time of booking.
P.S. Some images can’t be uploaded because Google thinks the two wagyu courses and yellowtail are inappropriate pictures. They were all delicious, especially the mandoo and the intoxicating aroma of the truffle rice kimbap.
Had a great time.. They are clearly working towards a third star. Everything was fabulous as always. Private room is nice.
We ordered a la carte at the bar and had a great experience, but next time I would do the dining room tasting menu option, as the bar is dimly lit and doesn’t have the most attentive service. The food itself is AMAZING. We ordered langoustine, octopus, cod, mandoo (x2), kimbap (x2), and Galbi. Everything was very good and memorable, except for mandoo which was just okay. The cod was amazing but small and we should have ordered 2. Sadly the dessert here weren’t good at all compared to the main dishes. The carrot and ice cream cone dessert were pretty average.
We had the tasting menu with additional sea urchin bibimbap and dessert. The food was amazing, curated delicately. The octopus was crispy and juicy. High recommended.
