Had great wine a delicious me. The waiter was great. Had a great time with my husband. The prices could be a little better on the pasta dishes.
Are you kidding me! The BEST ITALIAN EVER and we have to go home now! Restaurants these days like to over complicate the traditional Italian recipes but not Patsy's. The sauces are incredible and unique and they actually sell them online but I see the one I want (Italian Restaurant marinara) is currently sold out and I definitely know why! I had the Chicken Marsala (to die for) Boneless breast of chicken sautéed with prosciutto, onions, mushrooms, and Marsala. And asked for a side of angel hair spaghetti with the best marinara I have EVER had. My husband had the traditional spaghetti and meatballs. The meatballs were amazing..not made with hamburger this is REAL Italian here so made with veal. On to the service.. amazing hands down, pampering, quick and effortless. And we were delighted to meet Vinny, the 40 year vetran restaurant manager who delighted us with a wonderful true story of Frank Sinatra and the Yankees dining in his restaurant. I can't imagine this not being my number one stop when coming to NYC to dine. Actually I may make it a reason to come to NYC! I am a foodie so I am very picky and this made my trip! Such a nostalgic place also with many celebrity photos that have visited over the years. What a gem...so blessed to find you Patsys!!!
This Place Is AMAZING! I can't say enough GREAT things about this restaurant! Besides, the Awesome history; The Food is OUTSTANDING! Everyone wants to make sure the guests have a good meal and are happy with their experience! Consider yourself lucky if you have an opportunity to meet Sal - Stand Up Guy! They also have cookbooks for purchase (for those of you who like to cook) I would highly recommend! Hands Down - MY MOST FAVORITE RESTAURANT!
Feel of a different era
It's an old line Italian restaurant. The food is excellent, having both flavor with basic presentations. They have managed to maintain the original feel, when Sinatra and many other celebs of past fame patronized the place.
It was a GREAT experience. The night started when we walked in the door we were immediately greeted by a gentleman named Sal, he is the grandson of the founder. He made us feel like we were family. The staff was beyond helpful and their was a lot of them.. My wife ordered Chicken Francaise, everything looked so good that i could not decide, i asked the waiter to bring me his favorite dish. he brought me a pasta dish called --- Bucatini all' Amatriciana. It consisted of tomato sauce, with hickory smoked bacon, prosciutto, onions and fresh basil over Spaghetti called Bucatini. I have had Italian food a lot being from an Italian family, this dish was over the top!!!. Besides Frank Sinatra being a regular and his favorite place. just have a look at the walls and check out all the photos of the famous people that also consider this to be their go to place. Bon appetit!!!
We arrived in NYC to celebrate birthdays for a few days and wanted to go to someplace close to the hotel the first night. We saw an ad for Patsy's and all agreed on Italian
( which is a feat in itself to agree). We went before dinner -the guys seemed to be on a break at a table in the back of the restaurant. They jumped right into action when we arrived and never stopped with the excellent service. We had the house salads ( with beets yum)and a couple different dishes, chicken Parmesan and a sausage rigatoni I believe. Anyway everything was delicious, hearty but not to large on the portions. They found out we were celebrating birthdays and brought a special cake but also a gift- a jar of Patsy's' Marinara sauce to take home. The dinner crowd started to arrive but it never felt crowded or loud and the service remained focused.
Patsy’s, what can I say about it? The place is out of this world. Their food is divine. It is known for being the favorite restaurant of a Mr. Frank Sinatra. The man had style and he knew how to pick a killer restaurant. It’s an Italian restaurant that offers up many of the home style Italian dishes. They have a meal you can get that is called Trio of Ravioli. It’s a mix of lobster, spinach and mushroom raviolis. Super good! They also have an amazing plate of spaghetti and meatballs. It’s a traditional take on spaghetti with veal meatballs and a nice basil tomato sauce on top. If you are ever in the area and have the time stop in and try something new at Patsy’s!!
We went to Patsys while visiting NYC as a family of 4 with 2 young kids. We were all beyond satisfied with our meals. My daughter said it was the “best dinner ever”. Our server Nick was exceptional!!
Perfect meal!
If you are looking for authentic Italian this is your place. Everything from the food to the service was impeccable. It is not an inexpensive meal but the delicious food and attentive service make it totally worth the trip.
I ordered the eggplant parmesan and I got to sit with my family, my friends, and our neighbors as we all ate a ton of delicious farm raised pork and beef italian meatballs that were professionally cooked to order. We had an amazing variety of options for entrees and desserts. The restaurant has a long cultural history. The food was so delicious and savory especially while you are people watching or you starring at the lively street culture in Time Square NY with all of the vendors and shopping establishments outside. It was a memorable experience that really has shaped my perspective of mid-town Manhattan to be the number one culinary and cultural destination in New York State. This restaurant deserves a 5 star rating because it was very kid-friendly and some of the waitresses were very polite and attentive, we spent over 30 dollars or more per person to eat their food options. It was a lively and gastronomic adventure and then we went to the theater and saw the opera.

We loved this restaurant so much. The food was amazing and the wait staff was so attentive. We were having dinner before a concert and had my 7 year old and 16 year old sons and everyone was so nice to us. I can't wait to go back to NYC to eat here again. My husband had the spaghetti and meatballs and I had the pasta al la vodka. Superb!
Dined at Patsy's tonight and couldn't wait to get home and rate it. the food was delicious. We shared clams oreganato and chef Sal made them to our liking. Instead of whole clams they were diced up. I had a specially made dish of lasagna ( not on the menu). Was beyond wonderful. Desert was a treat tiromisu. the best I've tasted. Although I am not a celebrity . I was made to feel as if I was... Great place to dine
Was just what I needed. A great Italian dinner in NYC. Dinner was great. Cesar salad was very good. Meatballs were homemade and wonderful. The light of my night was the tiramisu. Out of this world amazing!!!!!
If you could give ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️, I would do it. Patsy's is a multigenerational establishment that feels like you are in Italy. What I was taken aback by was the owners (who are elderly) were working late into the night. The head chef Sal was an unbelievably kind man who stopped at our table 3-4x throughout the meal.
Don't mess around with the menu - go straight for the classic spaghetti and meatballs.
The chopped salad was one of the better salads I have had.
I'd go as far as saying this is the best Italian restaurant i have eaten at...
“Excellent Service & Food - True, Warm, Inviting Italian Family”..... Our first time at Patsy's was Saturday night, April 2, 2016. I was recommended to Patsy's by the roommate staying with my father during his total knee replacement at the Hospital Special Surgery. My mother and I decided to go. We were seated in the front and met most of the family, learning about their story of the restaurant. We spoke personally with Joe Scognamillo and his lovely wife. Sal, their son and chef, personally came over to us to go over the specials. We had true discussions about his history. He explained how his wife joined the business and photos of their sons and their future plans. What a great person! I told him I will be back with my husband for another beautiful dinner, as my husband so appreciates these types of restaurants that are hard to find these days. I have shared our experience with my enormous NJ Italian family and when they come to NYC they will know of your place. Thank you for an exceptional experience. Laura & Claudia
during a recent trip to New York I dined at Patsy's TWICE in one week. Once with my work friends, and a second time with my family. Both meals were terrific! Deserts even better!!! And their service was amazing and very warm. Sal the son that runs Patsy's was very personable, making everyone feel like family. And the two kids in our group (ages 9 and 10) found their meals the BEST...(and they are hard to please). I would highly recommend Patsy's!
Phenomenal food!! Loved eggplant Parmesan - light with a tasty tomato sauce. Best I've ever had. Enjoyed mousse cake, too! Upscale service in midtown NYC.
You Must Go Here!. We come to Patsy's Italian Restaurant every year on our annual trip to Broadway. The food is delicious, and the service is amazing!! Sal always comes out to greet each guest, and the whole place makes us feel welcome, and part of the family!! We wouldn't miss it - you must come here on a trip to New York!!
Gnocchi and Calamari. Can't go wrong with their gnocchi and their fried calamari. Great ambiance. Staff very polite. Always bring my parents here and we always have a good time.

Best restaurant in NYC. It is a great experience. Must go!
Make it PATSY'S ITALIAN REST.. One of the best Italian meals I have ever had. This was Frank Sinatra's favorite Italian Restaurant and I now realize why. A beautiful throwback to the glory days of New York. The staff was wonderful and the food superb. Had the Classic Antipasto to start with than Linguini with White Clam Sauce, than the Chicken Parm which you could cut with a spoon. One of the best red sauces you will ever taste. The desserts were pure heaven. The homemade Cannoli and the Napolian. I met owner Sal and his son Joe who were so nice and welcoming and we chatted about the stars we both knew who come to the restaurant. Next time you dine out make it PATSY'S!!
Great food. Great service. Great place.. Went to Patsy's for the first time to celebrate my wife's 50th birthday. The ownership and staff couldn't have done any more to make us feel wanted and appreciated on my wife's special night. Everything was just outstanding. Many thanks and our deepest appreciation to Joe, Anna, Sal, Robert and especially to our waiter, Vinnie! The Clams Casino and Clams Arreganata were simply perfect and delicious as was our special meatball with marinara sauce appetizer. The chopped salad was crisp and flavorful and our entrees, the Lobster Fra Diavolo for me and a special fresh scallop dish for my wife were to die for. We topped the evening off with house-made cannolis, a piece of cheese cake and a special house grappa which was just a perfect ending for a perfect evening! Can't wait to go back!

Always fun!. Great food always and a step back into time when waiters not only took your order and served food, but enchanted and entertained and made you feel truly special. Love Patsy's!
Love it!. I visit Patsy's every time I am in the city. It is warm and cozy with some very nice, elegant touches. The food is delicious and the atmosphere is fun and lively. The head chef and other staff are friendly and clearly care a lot about providing excellent food and customer service. I highly recommend it and can't wait to go back!
A taste sensation. I heard good things so we went. It was GREAT. Started with the melt in my mouth meatballs and it only continued to prove itself as an outstanding flavor enjoyment from then on.
Great food, service and like eating at a friends home they were so friendly and warm. We'll be back
Highly recommended. The meal we had at Patsy's was outstanding. The calamari insalata was to die for. The tricolor salad was divine. I had the calf liver Venezia was probably my favorite dish. (I love inner organs). my daughter had the gnocchi and broccoli Rabe. she finished both. the chef came and was personable- made us feel like family. as a second generation Italian I have nothing but praise for Patsy's.
The BEST Italian food in New York. Everything about this restaurant is excellent. When you walk in the door your treated like royalty and it only gets better. The chef /owner third generation comes to everyone's table to chat and check on the food. The food is superb!!! The ambience is wonderful and the wait staff attentive. There are lots of choices in NY but Patsy's has survived because its the best of the best!!
Food was well prepared and service was excellent but it was a bit pricey.
Great food and attentive service. Old school Italian. Worth a try!
Old School. The decor and service is dated, but this is one of the few places where it is ok. The nostalgia and history of the place is what really stands out. It is like stepping back in time from when you walk up to the neon sign outside then thru the door past the coat check and what looks like the original cash register. The service is spot on and the food is what chain restaurants have tried to copy.
Try The Veal. We ordered the veal marsala off the menu. It was a flattened veal chop coated with a light breading and layered with the perfect salad. No sauce, just fresh lemon. A must try.
Great atmosphere.
Food is good and the service even better.. Great location. Go to a letterman show taping and then walk over to Patsy's for dinner. Not the best italian food that i have ever had, but close to it. Always nice to us and seem to want to go out of their way to accommodate. Becomes a little hectic, when crowded, but a really nice night out.
This place is a classic that has weathered time. Delicious food, outstanding food, a worthly experience.
Good Enough For Sinatra. Traditional red sauce, old school italian restaurant, that was Frank Sinatra's favorite restaurant in New York - I've read that so often that you have to believe it is true.
The decor is retro, the service is a little slow, and the place can get noisy, but the place has history, and is not without a kind of worn charm. This place is not inexpensive, so be sure you want to pay for the experience.
We had the Antipasto Classico for $17, the Linguine White Clam Sauce for $26, and the Spaghetti & Meatballs at $25- like I said, not cheap. All were decent renditions of these dishes, but the clams in the linguine dish were canned, and the red sauce is heavy.
I'm glad we did this, and it was only a couple of blocks from our hotel, but once will pretty much do it, especially in NYC, where so much is available.
All I have to say. It is worth a try. I had the gnocchi and it was AMAZING! Staff is very awesome too.
Fantastic - top notch. A friend recommended Patsy's... Some of the best authentic Italian cuisine I've had. Food and service was perfect!
We trusted the reviews and were glad. Delicious! NOTE: no shorts allowed! We got there at 5:30 and they made exception because we were early.
I told my friend. If it's good enough for the chairman of the board, it's good enough for me! what an amazing place. truly unreal
Greatest Italian I've had in a Long time!. The food and service at Patsy's was excellent. What ever you order is guarenteed to be superb. Save room for dessert. I reccomend the Napolean. It is sooo good.
Yum. I try to come here whenever I have time in NYC. The authentic Italian food is always perfect, and the staff is friendly and welcoming.
The fact that it was one of Sinatra's favorites is a good reference in itself!
One of the finest meals I've ever had in my entire life. To eat such an exquisite meal in such a historic restaurant is absolutely fantastic. They sat us in Frank Sinatra's dining room on the second floor. We had the artichoke hearts and the clams oreganata as appetizers. Then for the entrees we had the trio of ravioli and the steak pizzaiolo. The food goes beyond description. There was a reason why Frank Sinatra and almost every famous Hollywood star has been to this restaurant. I doubt this meal will ever have an equal for the rest of my life. I also can't say enough about the service. The waiter we had who unfortunately I did not get his name was fantastic. Warm and inviting and made you feel like family. Thank you so much for the experience
There are restaurants you go to, and there are restaurants you go back to. Patsy’s is definitely one we want to return to. I want to try all the pastas here. I've seen reviews from people who don't seem to like the food, but they've probably never tasted this kind of Italian pasta. For me, Patsy's pasta is on a whole new level. Portion sizes are generous.
I love how cozy the restaurant feels. It's fancy in its own way. The waiters are amazing. They are not rude as some guests mentioned; they are doing their job, offering great service without any unnecessary chit-chat, unlike what you often find in local restaurants. They are great, and we had an amazing time. They don’t rush you to choose, to order, to eat. You have all the time you need to enjoy a lovely dinner.
Me and a friend went for late lunch !! It was spectacular!! We got eggplant for 2 as an appt and chicken parm w tortellini pasta as mains!! Both were perfectly cooked. I got a glass of super Tuscan.I love red wine. For desserts we got chocolate and carrot cake
Service was really good and fast. Bread was good so we asked for another basket. The owner was really nice and helpful. This is a place where they really care about the people. Deff coming back soon
This is a really charming and nice restaurant. You can tell that everyone who works at the restaurant has worked there a long time. The menu has a wide array of classic Italian dishes and the portions are very generous. Big enough they can be shared. I ordered the soup of the day and it was my favorite thing we ate, it was so delicious!
Patsy’s is a classic gem. From the food to the service it’s all a great experience. The staff takes care of you from the time you walk in the door until you leave. The food is authentic Italian with a great ambiance. Would highly recommend.
My daughter and I came to NYC and wanted what generations had called, "the absolute best Italian restaurant," and we got it!
The owner even came out and took a picture with us and explained the special selections for the evening and made us feel very at home!
It's a very one of a kind place with tons of nostalgia!
Old time authentic Italian food that has been family owned forever. We had clams casino, stuffed veal chop, combo ravioli platter, ceaser salad. Everything was outstanding.
An amazing time. Reservations were made for a large group easily and we were sat in Frank Sinatra's room, which was a large part of why we went. The food was incredible and the service was great. We had the pre theatre menu and everyone loved their dishes. We were there for a wedding reception and each staff member went to great lengths to make it extra special. Sal came out to greet us and make us feel so welcomed and loved. Great location as well.
Had a wonderful time at Patsy's, dining with my Italian family! Excellent dishes, welcoming atmosphere and attentive wait staff. Easily accommodated my son's gluten free needs.
Family owned since 1944, just adds that extra special magic - it felt like coming home for Sunday dinner.
At the suggestion of one of our friends, my wife and I had lunch at Patsy’s Italian restaurant during a recent trip to New York City. This is an old-school restaurant with a massive menu, celebrity pictures on the walls and a great ambience. My wife ordered the daily fish special which was cod and I had the cannelloni. Both dishes were simply excellent and the portions were massive. I couldn’t finish my serving. The service was wonderful and it made for a wonderful lunch.
If you are ever in NYC, make sure to make dinner reservations at Patsy's Italian Restaurant.
Great food and the best service ever!
Look who we ran into on the way in.
The chef himself ~ Sal Scognamillo!
LOVED Patsy’s!!! The manicotti is the best I’ve ever had! So fresh & the pasta cooked perfectly! Sal made a point to come to our table & ask us how we were doing. He even spent time telling us some of the family history of this charming and cozy restaurant. Being here felt like a warm hug & I’m going back!
While looking for lunch around Central Park, we found Patsy’s Pizzeria. We wanted to have authentic NY-style pizza and Patsy’s ranges up there. It was a little busy when we walked in, but we were able to get a table quickly. Soon after being seated, we had water and were asked if we had any questions. We ordered a red wine and the heavy pour glasses came out fast and accompanied by amazing bread.
We ordered a traditional pepperoni/mushroom pizza. When it came out, our eyes got huge and our mouths began to water. It looked amazing!! The basil with the fresh mozzarella just elevated the flavor. We smashed the pizza and did not regret a single bite! Our first NY-style pizza was a home run.
Service was great and they were very attentive, even while busy. We were thanked and invited back soon. We would love to be back soon!
Boshco kept us well serviced and entertained with some good humoured banter. The food was fantastic and tasty. Definitely a place to visit for dinner. Bonus fact, Frank Sinatra used to dine here. There is a room named after him with his reserved table (see pics).
Traditional but extremely tasty Italian food. Sometimes, traditional Italian food can be boring but not here. I highly recommend the meatballs. They are probably the best i have ever had. However, i don't think you could go wrong with any of the food here. This place is absolutely worth visiting.
