Izakaya Mew - New York City - Photo album

We hit up Izakaya MEW at 5 pm, and even though there was a line when they opened, we got seated right away. The vibe was on point, with 90s hip-hop and perfect lighting. It felt like a house party, but instead, we were treated to an amazing meal. The staff was super friendly and attentive. We tried
Came to this place for lunch with about 6 coworkers around 11:45a, which was perfect because the lunch rush gets crazyyyy & you'll have to wait to be seated. To start the vibe was good and not gonna lie it felt kinda like a club in the middle of the day with the low lighting & music they had playing
Are there no good restaurants in midtown? HAS. This is an Asian kitchen hidden downstairs. There's everything from ramen to sushi, from fried rice to chicken. Although the menu is extensive, the taste is above average. I liked the interior of the place and the service, we can say that the food was a
A causal fun spot to hang out with good eats. Very energetic vibe with loud music, and service was good too. My friend and I tried the Mushroom Kakiage (tempura), Tan Shio (grilled beef tongue), Hamachi Kamayaki (grilled yellowtail collar), and Kurobuta Pork Udon. Everything was tasty and in good p
One of our favourite restaurants in NYC!!!! The quality of everything was amazing and the selection of food was perfect for an izakaya restaurant. Between 2 people, we would recommend 3 items because portions were quite large. The only thing to note is the music was quite loud so you have to yell to
Great go to lunch or dinner spot in midtown. Service is fast and food is delicious! Excellent for sharing with a group. It gets super packed and loud inside so suggest coming early or on the later side of service to avoid crowds. Or suggest making a reservation if you can to avoid long wait time.
This is one of my favourite Izakayas in NYC. They have the typical dishes like sashimi, agedashi tofu, goma-ae, and takowasa, but their unique spin on traditional dishes is what really stands out. Examples of these are: Omu Soba: This is your typical omurice, but with yakisoba instead of rice under
Lunch review: Mew has won me over for their tasty hamburg steak, which was a generous portion with bold and zesty pan sauce. I’ll be coming back for that! The creamy udon was great as well. Sushi / sashimi sets are solid for this price point, and some dishes are better than others IMHO. Find your o
This is my all time favorite spot in NYC for price, value, food quality, uniqueness, AND atmosphere. The line is never super long and the food is always good. I bring all my friends here if they’re looking for a fun, interesting, casual restaurant to go to. Must order the kimchi cream udon, kirin fr
We ordered many dishes and drinks, most of them were good except for the beef tongue. Price was reasonable. The only problem was that the restaurant is too popular so there are always people waiting outside for a table. Waiters are so busy taking away empty plates and clean your table ahead of time,
MEW is a hidden culinary gem that captures the essence of Japanese izakaya culture. The restaurant's cozy and inviting atmosphere sets the stage for a delightful dining experience that combines great food, drinks, and camaraderie. The menu at this place is a showcase of Japanese comfort foods, feat
Food: 9.5/10. I'm someone who doesn't like udon, but the udon here was DELICIOUS. Springy, tangy noodles. Four HUGE pieces of excellent pork. All served in a beautiful, hot stone pot. The geso karaage was lightly fried and perfectly crisp, without too much oil dripping off. The zuko salmon don was a
really busy during dinner time so make sure to have reservations for the wait could be up to an hour or more. food was delicious and portions were good for the size. the hotpot soup was my favorite and everything came out nice and hot. vibes were really cute too and they have a bar as well.
We tried a lot of their dishes and most of them were good. Our favorites were the okonomikai and sashimi don. There was a long wait but once we were seated the food came very quickly. The drinks were strong and tasty. I’d recommend the Take Me Home cocktail if you want something fruity.
Food is good overall. They have a lot of great small dish, so maybe consider ordering multiple small plates in lieu of main dish. The wait might be long if you go during peak time. Recommend you make a reservation beforehand.
Probably the best food I had in Manhattan. The most delicious udon noodles you’ll ever eat in your life. I want to eat them every single day, forever. So creamy and just the perfect combination of flavors. Great atmosphere, very fast and attentive service. When I come back to the city, I’m absolutel
Always my fav izakaya in NYC, I wanna order all food here, every food looks amazing and really tasty, the staff are lovely…btw don’t forget to order a ice beer :)
Good variety of Japanese food in an underground spot that is always packed and lively. Expect to wait for a table, but food comes out quickly. We had a variety of raw dishes, noodles and beef tongue. The spread was nice and all dishes had their own special appeal. Prices are very reasonable; a good
