One of my favorites in NewYork. I make a point of going there every time I visit! Great food!!!! A little better than mama used to make!
We went for the Valentines Day Price Fixe menu and everything was amazingly tasty, cooked perfectly and portioned generously. Nice Greek wine selection as well. The seating is tight so I recommend sitting in the back by the bar if you'd like more room. Only complaint was that we were the first couple there for the 9:00pm seating and the place was empty but they sat us at the worst seat, right in front of the door! Luckily the manger moved us to a much better location but bad move by the hostess.
My new favorite Greek restaurant in NYC. I had a delicious salmon with kale and orzo. The appetizers (calamari's and halloumi) were incredible! It was such a great Mother's Day treat! Great staff, impeccable service, where one can sit back, relax, and actually enjoy authentic Greek food!
The food and service were great. Waiter was Greek. We spoke about Greek wines. He made suggestions re our order. He was friendly, courteous, and attentive. He refilled our wine glasses, and even let us taste a Greek wine we discussed. If the restaurant was on Staten Island, we would be regulars. Will go again absolutely.
We come to NY only about once every 3 years and even though there are endless restaurants to choose from we come back here every time for a dinner. All of it is delicious- never disappoints
Service and food were top notch. Management went above and beyond to make this a great experience! Will definitely be back
No words for this amazing food, the ambience, the service and the quality of every ingredient.
The food was excellent as well as the atmosphere. I highly recommend Pylos.
Deliciously authentic. Wonderful service! Would definitely recommend.
This is a fantastic restaurant and my fave Greek food in the USA!

Incredible food, incredible service - moussaka was amazing!
Great service, delicious food and wine, nice atmosphere. What else is there to say?
Amazing food and great service! Authentic rustic Greek food that is very hard to find in the states.
No one makes Greek food like Pylos. The best in the city hands down!
Pylos was the perfect choice for a large gathering of friends and family! The service was outstanding, shared appetizers wowed everyone, lamb shank won the night, and the desserts left us deeply satisfied. All the reviews I read were right - the best Greek food in Manhattan!
Incredible food. 10/10 would recommend. Ordered several entrees and appetizers and everything was amazing. I would recommend the salmon.
One of my favorite restaurants in NYC and for me certainly the best Greek food in NYC. I’ve been going for more than a decade and it’s still delivers consistently great quality. It is a relaxed and more causal atmosphere with amazingly authentic and sublimely executed dishes. The octopus, lamb chop, the trio of dips, the whole fish, hummus, the halloumi cheese, and the baked pasta are highlights for me. The octopus especially is cooked to perfection. The wine list has a good selection of Greek wines. The service is very personable and attentive.
Delicious authentic Greek food. Loud guests at the restaurant though. Service was great and attentive.
The octopus appetizer came with generous portions and it was easily one of the best executed grilled octopus I've ever had. The grilled whole fish was phenomenal - you could taste the freshness and the love and care that the chef had poured into this humble yet delicious dish. We also got the moussaka, which was hearty and satisfying. Our waitress was knowledgeable, attentive, and sweet. Will definitely come back!
Just as great as always.. authentic food and wines.. not over priced just fresh..
One of my favorite Greek restaurants. The food is simply outstanding. I recommend sharing a bunch of appetizers and skipping the entrées.
Our favorite Greek place in Manhattan. Great at the restaurant or delivery. Artichoke moussaka was 🤤 and can’t beat the lemon potatoes
I've been wanting to visit Pylos for 4 years and I finally got the opportunity last week. We got in at 10 pm on Friday and they still took us in. The food came out super fast, and the servers were very nice. The proteins were excellently cooked. My favorite was the grilled octopus.
If you found my review helpful give it a thumbs up👍 to help others.
Very good food, amazing service.
Lamb chops, lamb shank were great.
Appetizers were also pretty good.
Place is not huge and fills up quick.
Food: 3.5/5
Service: 4.5/5
We ordered the most popular entrees but I wasn't really impressed.
Lamb chop: the grilled flavor is nice but doesn't have too much seasoning
Lamb shank: it's braised and falls off the bone. The sauce probably has some balsamic vinegar which is interesting but it doesn't go into the meat - might be better if the shank were marinated longer.
Whole fish: nice and has char grilled flavor. It's fresh but is a pretty standard entree compared to other Greek restaurants.
Greek salad: like it. The feta cheese is very nice and generous portion.
Overall I think it's a place for Greek food and wine that won't stand out but good enough. Reservations highly recommend especially for Friday and weekend.
I’m surprised it isn’t harder to get a reservation here. The food and service more than hit the mark and the ambiance, including the tasteful terracotta pot ceiling, did very well to set the mood for a date night.
We started with the poikilia and pita, which was not only a great appetizer, but also served as a unique way to incorporate Grecian flavors into other parts of the meal as we used these dips with some of the other appetizers.
The octopus was next, which in my opinion is maybe the most accessible form of octopus I’ve ever had. It was good, but I couldn’t help but think it tasted like a hot dog, which threw me off a bit.
We also ordered the meatballs, which were cooked to perfection and scrumptious, especially when mixed with the poikilia dipping sauces.
Finally, we finished with the pistachio crusted stripe bass. This dynamic dish absolutely blew our socks off. This is a must order.
Did the prix fixe menu for restaurant week. It was great! The food was beautiful and executed so well (e.g. the crispy things were crispy and not soggy). And the service was very informative and accommodating when we were navigating the wine menu. The serving sizes are substantial, so we really felt like we were getting our value’s worth.
Solid spot - went with a group of 10 and they did a shared apps plus pick your own entree. Only main downside is only beer and wine. No liquor. We asked if we could BYOB and they declined
An exceptional greek restaurant upscale but reasonable priced. Fresh ingredients and unique sweets. I have been in many greek restaurants and pylos should ranked at the top 3. Brunch is $18. We had lunch 3 appetizers 4 glasses of wine 2 Main dishes Entry 3 Brunch . 2 desert around 70 per person includes tip and tax.
Good spot
Would return
Service was friendly and would return
Greek wine pairing was good
Overall 4.0
In my opinion, Pylos is one of the best Greek restaurants in Manhattan.
For appetizers, as expected, we ordered a Greek salad which was excellent.
The eggplant with zucchini and the artichoke were special.
The main courses were very good, particularly the salmon and lamb chops.
The Greek desserts gave us a sweet finish to a wonderful meal.
Higly Recomended.
Great food and service! We really enjoyed our meals. We got the sesame crusted feta, one of the salads, and a lamb shank and lamb chops. We finished with a delicious “mouzo” chocolate mousse which was also delicious. Everything was great!
Great upscale Greek restaurant in LES. Stylish with great service. All the food was amazing. I had the grilled octopus and pistachio crusted striped bass. The bass especially was SO good served on an incredible bed of zucchini and pesto. They also have a great selection of Greek wines. I’ll be back.
