Great food and great ambience and decor!! Huge wine selection and the escargot was great, although could have used more garlic. The meat and cheese platter for was was enough for 2 people, it was huge!! The only drawback was they did not have a bartender on shift so if you go on a Sunday do not order cocktails off their speciality list because the servers do not know how to make them or even a bloody Mary. Other than that I would definitely recommend it!!
Four of us had lunch here for the first time. It sounded interesting, and the menu looked great. We started by sharing the truffled brie and we didn't think it could get better than this, but it did. My vegetarian friend had the Legumes du Jardin and they were (in her words) absolutely fabulous. I had the demi-roti chicken with mushroom sauce. It was a half chicken deboned and perfectly cooked. My other friend had the lasagna rolls and she raved about them. We had delicious country style French bread with the meal. We had to try dessert. We shared macarons and a plate of mini pastries. All were out of this world. There was only one disappointment: they didn't serve tea. You may wonder what the 4th person had; it was my sister who came late and had a little bit of everything. She is often in NYC and she is definitely going back. I'm from Jersey but you can be sure that I will return.
One of the best french restaurant place in NYC. Food, atmosphere and people
Au top du top. Personnel super, nourriture pareil, a recommander à 100 pour cent
Fabulous! Cozy decor and friendly staff. My husband forced me to try the escargot.... it was actually delicious. Our entrees were amazing and we fell in love with the house sparkling wine. We had the creme brulee and macaroons for dessert. Both were decadent. We would definitely go back. So glad we found this place in our travels!
Tout simplement une tuerie
Si vous passez à New York allez y les yeux fermés c est délicieux
Quand vous en aurez marre de manger ricain
Un ptit bout de chez nous ou la nourriture est digne d un grand chef français
Excellent restaurant à New York ! Très bons plats et desserts typiquement français ! Le service au top ! Personnel serviable !
A ne pas manquer !!!!
Superbe adresse avec une équipe super et une cuisine très très bonnne . Boire un pastis a NY c est top quand même en étant de Marseille ;)
Food was delicious plus their Sangria and wine kept us coming back each night we were in town for business! They had the front area open which was nice to sit just inside for a patio feel yet not completely outdoors.
Super restau. Bonne ambiance, repas de qualité. Le top à NYC pour bien manger. Kisss Armel.♡♡♡
Très bon accueil et plats délicieux. Les serveurs parlent français ce qui est agréable. Tarif raisonnable.
Une très bonne ambiance et un super accueil.
Ce fut agréable de rencontrer d'autres français à New-York !
Great experience and food! Waiters are incredibly friendly and attentive and the food is incredible. They even included an extra desert for free for the holidays. If you go definitely get the truffle risotto it’s to die for!
A group of six friends went for dinner before a show. We all loved it. The food was delicious (well prepared, flavors well balanced, brought to the table in a well-timed manner), portions were generous, staff was professional and friendly, mixed drinks and wine was spot on. Wish I had taken some photos to post, but I guess we were just too busy enjoy it! Definitely will be back.
I went there for a live music event. When arriving, I went to speak with the hostess and told me I can hang out on the bar until the band starts up. The bartender said I couldn’t sit if I wasn’t French. Apparently there is a rule of only “ French” people are allowed to sit on the bar. That was shocking to hear. But, In a way, I understood that it’s local community bar. I spoke to the hostess again and he went to the owner and explained that I was here for to watch the band. He then let me sit down at the bar. The bartender apologized to me and we had a laugh about it. The bartenders and staff are awesome people. Very friendly, very helpful, and made the dining experience all more special.
The food was fantastic. Very authentic and delicious. The beer, I was introduced and drinking the Kronenbourg 1664(white) all night. It was so good.
All in all, I am definitely coming back and dusting off my French words and going to learn more, in the hopes of being fluent.
Classic French dishes served in a chill and relaxing atmosphere.
Came here for lunch at their opening time on a weekday. l was the only person at the restaurant for the first 30 minutes and got a nice bar seat up front. For a French restaurant in Midtown, this seemed like a rarity, but I was glad to enjoy my lunch peacefully.
Foie gras plate was a nice start to the meal. Along with the classic combination of toast, fig, and foie gras, they also had some salad which nicely refreshened my palate before digging in.
On the other hand, the duck breast was unfortunately slightly overcooked. The red wine reduction sauce and the veggies on the side were good, but not worth its price. I’ve had much better duck breasts at a similar price point, so this was surely a disappointment.
Thankfully, the crème brûlée was amazing despite its unassuming presentation. It would’ve been better with more strawberries, but i was able to finish the meal on a satisfactory note nonetheless.
Great good , good service (very French) , love the people here. The food was out of this world, doesn’t seem like it would
Be because it’s a plan bar inside but the wine and food selection are out of this world totally recommend.
Food was delicious. It was cozy but clearly trendy. The wine list was extensive and they let me try to wine prior to pouring the entire glass which I always appreciate. I got the salmon, which despite the description I did not realize was smoked for some reason. Although I typically dont like smoked fish I really enjoyed it. My friends really enjoyed their dishes as well. The pear crumble was also really nice, it is served with cream cheese which pairs surprisingly well. The service was impeccable and I really enjoyed my time.
The only warning I have is that I do wish this place was a little less expensive for the portions, we were honestly surprised that it was rated a 2 dollar sign, but it is in a busy area with few options. I recommend this as an option for a small group get together.
Was in NYC for a conference and stopped here for dinner. I was alone, so they seated me at a small high top table in the back. Although I sat in the back, they did make me feel welcomed. I ordered the scallops for $39 and they came out quickly. They were delicious. The sauce was really good - it would have been nice if it came with bread to sop it up.
The chef’s exquisite taste for presentation was outstanding! I visited for my wedding anniversary and I had such a delightful experience with the details of each plate, food tasted delicious. It was my very first time having French dishes, but overall pleased with the food. Drinks accompanied our evening which made it just perfect. Train station is also close by which made it convenient as we were on vacations and trying to visit as many food places down our list. This was definitely one of the best places we dined at!
We enjoyed our lunch at OCabanon. Not busy, which seemed odd, but it worked for us. Good food and service was excellent. Smelled like cigarette smoke was in the air when we were finishing up which was very unpleasant.
Elodie is one of the top bartenders I’ve ever encountered, a mixture of conversational, warm, fun, and knowledgeable - she truly made my experience one of a kind. I truly hope she is recognized for her talents in this industry. The mashed potatoes with a perfectly poured glass of Brouilly was honestly astoundingly delicious. I definitely see her becoming a huge star in this industry and beyond !
There is a wide space inside the store, and it has a calm atmosphere.
Rich variety of alcohol.
Since there is a volume of appetizers, you can have a satisfying meal with a few kinds.
Great place for a get together. Super service and food.
Came here through a Pulsd discount and I was pleasantly surprised by how good the food was. We got the Brie as the appetizer with steak as the main.
The Brie was absolutely amazing. Incredibly tasty and we kept on asking for second and third of the bread just to have more. It was cooked to the point where we still got to enjoy the tasty top.
The steak was also cooked to perfection. The potatoes on the side were also incredible. Lastly, they have this type of steak sauce that paired amazingly with the actual meat.
Overall, this was a great experience and I'm happy I was able to find this diamond in the rough. Would definitely be back!
A great choice if you have a big group. A lot of appetizers/boards for sharing, a great of selection of mains and wine too. If you’re looking for something more chill with one other person, you can also share an appetizer and drink on the high tables near the entrance.
Excellent service, ambience, and authentic French food.
I am European, lived in Nice almost a decade and miss France. The owner, Armel, was extremely attentive and courteous. Lots of French people hanging out here.
The foie gras was delicious, great pairing with Jurancon, and the fondant was on point!
We'll be back!
Pretty good affordable French restaurant. The quantity is of satisfying size. Service is wonderful and attentative. Ordered the risotto with mushroom and truffle oil, red snapper on ratatouille and cheese and charcuterie platters for 2.
