Went here for the first time today for dinner with my brother. I had the scallion pancake as an appetizer and then the chicken fried rice for my entree. The scallion pancake was very delicious and the chicken fried rice was decent. The staff was very nice and super attentive. The food came out pretty quickly and we did not have to wait too long. While it's not the most modern looking place, there is a certain ambiance to it.
All around great food. Had steamed dumplings and fried also. Had to getthe sesame chicken with noodles and rice because it looked too good not to. Everything tasted fresh! The beer was cold, and the server was very attentive!
Excellent indeed.
Food is so so so so good. Service is quick and polite.
I tried the steamed shrimp dumplings, spicy chicken fried rice, & pecking duck spring roll. Everything great
Love this place
We ordered some pork soup dumplings, yam chow fried rice, and mayo tofu. The dumplings were served first, which was the right to do. They tasted fine and the soup was hot. While the fried rice was delicious, the tofu was a bit bland. I guess it’s more of a Shanghainese restaurant than Sichuan. So we could’ve picked on that. But the food was freshly cooked and the service was good. Atmosphere was also alright. Forgot to took the photos of the dumplings and tofu.
The name doesn’t lie! The food here was delicious. We got the soup dumplings, hot and spicy wontons, scallion pancakes, and Shanghai noodles. The service from the staff was incredible and attentive. Will gladly be coming back.
The place doesn't look like much from the outside but we had a very enjoyable experience. We stayed at the Motto and needed a late night bite that was walking distance. This place was a cute find. The servers were very very attentive and there was one (red head covering) that went above and beyond. She showed us how to properly eat the soup dumplings and explained the use of the sauces which I thought was very considerate.
Peking Duck spring roll- very tasty
Pork and crabmeat Xiao bao and pork Xiao bao are soup dumplings that had a really nice broth. The dumplings were soft yet firm and did not tear before landing to the spoon.
Spicy Chicken Fried Rice.with XO sauce- the rice comes.out sizzling and was very tasty. We have a pretty good spice tolerance but didn't taste any level of spice in this at all.
Scallion pancakes- pleasantly surprised. Very nice flavor and texture. Not too soggy or dry, just a well made pancake.
Called in to place a pick up order. Asked if we could substitute brown sauce instead of white with the Shrimp & Broccoli and they didn’t give us any issues. So glad we did because the sauce went perfectly with the shrimp!
Also ordered the Spicy chicken fried rice with XO sauce and that was some of the best Chinese I’ve ever had. One of the best parts was how quick the food was ready too. If you’re nearby you should definitely order from here. They seemed to have a good amount of sit down seating too.
If you’re looking for really good dumplings and noodle soup, this is a great place! First off, the servers were friendly and attentive. The dumplings were definitely homemade and delicious and came out pretty quickly. The noodle soup was some of the best I’ve had outside of China! The broth was incredibly flavorful and not salty at all. Exactly what you want in a good noodle soup. On top of that, the bill was only $41 for 2 plates of dumplings and 2 bowls of soup! We’ll be back for more!
Great price/ quality ratio food. Loved coming here on a cold day. We had some pork dumplings and a pork chaw fan. We also tried the pork bun and loved it. Food quantity was ok for two people, and we got leftovers. Will come back to try the rest of the menu. The staff was super nice and attentive!
Some of the e best soup dumplings I’ve had. Better than any of the chain places for sure. We ordered 4 rounds of soup dumplings! We chose this place since it also offered a vegetarian (non soup) dumpling option for someone in our group and it certainly delivered! Their veg dumplings were also well liked. The chicken dumpling soup was a surprise hit for the table. We liked that their scallion pancakes were more fully cooked than most places. The pork buns were the absolute highlight. I will definitely be back here! Location was great too and service was friendly and quick.
If you are craving a Chinese restaurant with the vibe and service of yesteryear, then this is your place.
We were heading to a local Spanish restaurant, but the health grade was unacceptable. We quickly searched Maps and came upon Excellent Dumpling. The staff was polite, helpful, and fast. The dining room was filled mostly with locals. This is usually a good sign. We ordered roast pork lo mein, and steamed dumplings, and at the recommendation of a local, we ordered a steamed roast pork bun.
I cannot begin to explain how fresh and delicious everything was. I can say though that I will be stopping by again. Very soon.
First of all, the dumplings ARE excellent! This place has great and helpful service, and great food for a low price. My favourite is the steamed pork bun, try it!
Excellent food, quick and friendly service. Definitely worth going to. We will be back!
I have to say it’s a Chinese restaurant that worth to view. It’s rare to see a Chinese restaurant actually treat genuinely well to their customers instead of working for tips.
Truly authentic Shanghai cuisine with extremely reasonable price. Highly recommend to try their Hot and Sour soup, full of flavors, just shows how amazing their skill is. Shoutout to Lee who is such an awesome server. Thanks for making the amazing dinner more enjoyable.
Amazing! No doubt they are one of the best and most authentic. The steamed chicken dumplings were perfect and didn’t break apart. The chicken and fried rice with broccoli were full of flavor and were just right! Highly recommend this spot.
Crab and pork xiao long bao was really good. Chicken dumpling noodle soup is perfect was cold weather with some chili sauce.
Quick service with reasonable prices. Visited the place without a reservation got the table very quick.
This is a classic New York Chinese restaurant with a stated specialty in the dumpling area. We had the seafood dumplings and the chicken dumplings, both were quite good, well prepared and served without a hint of charm. If you are looking for high-end cuisine and Michelin guide type service, this is not your place. However, if you’re looking for some decent and quickly served “American Chinese” specialties (e.g., chicken and broccoli, etc.) at a reasonable price in a very basic environment, this is the place for you.
Such a quick and easy dumpling spot in Chelsea. The food was delicious and the service was quick and all at an affordable price. I highly recommend this spot if you don’t want to make the trip to Chinatown.
Amazing place! Really liked the duck spring rolls and xiao long baos. Worth a visit!
