Decent southern BBQ served family style. Was a bit disappointed by the limited menu and would have preferred more individual sized options. Enjoyed the pork wings and sweet potato mash.
Stopped for brunch on our way to 911 memorial, nice outdoor seating area, great food, I had homemade waffles with fruit compote, and very friendly and helpful staff.
A wonderful place for bourbon cocktails, we accidentally went to this place as it was just too cold. The House Smoked Boulevardier and szrec were awesome and literally made our evening
This was a wonderful find for a quick snack so we could make it to dinner, since the One World Observatory restaurant was just a blah deli. I wish we'd gone there to really eat, since EVERYTHING on the menu looked wonderful and everything we got was amazing. I especially recommend the corn bread and the wings. I'm not normally a big fan of wings and I have no idea what's in their sauce, but the wings were AMAZING.
Staying at the lovely Conrad hotel overlooking the Hudson River at Battery Park, we wanted to eat Sunday lunch nearby on the last day of our New York trip. Blue Smoke, a Southern BBQ smokehouse, just around the corner on Vesey Street was convenient, appealed (as in – when in the U.S., make the most of good American cusine) and served craft beers too. From the Southern lunch menu, we both chose a pit stop: one meat, one side and one sweet for $20.00. Plus an additional meat @ $5.00.
The verdict: Excellent value for such generous portions. Simple but good Southern food, with really good service and a very appealingly furnished interior...
Been a while since I had been here. Came here with a group of friends for a group dinner. Have no complaints. Fun group, attentive wait staff, and tasty BBQ.
I ordered the"Rhapsody in 'Cue" which came with Kansas City Spareribs, Pulled Pork, Smoked Chicken, and Sausage. I enjoyed everything on my plate. I actually wanted to pick up the plate and lick it. Nice warm cornbread was placed on the table too. Also had the banana cream pie for dessert. At this point I felt like I was going to give birth I was so full!
Good thing I washed it all down with two pints of Peak Organic Nut Brown Ale. Totally went well with the BBQ. Great way to end the weekend. Good company, tasty BBQ, and fun conversation. Too bad we couldn't have seven day weekends!
Great food and service. Everything is delicious and taste great
Fry bread...very good.. Stayed at the Conrad next door and could smell the BBQ every day so had to give it a try. Loved their fry bread - ask for their special sauce in addition to their chipotle butter. Ribs were overall OK, some better than others. Would recommend to those that stay nearby or work in the area but not worth a long commute to get to.
Good take out dinner. I hade the vegetable burger (sans bun as i'm gluten-free) and deviled eggs. so good! a little pricey but its quality goods. also, I wouldn't say this place is particularly gluten-free, they just have menu items that don't have bread in them. like the deviled eggs are labeled as "gluten-free" but of course they are, they're eggs! so its just a marketing tactic. overall its a good place to go around battery park area, nothing to alert the texan authorities over though.
You only realise how light weight and non serious an Australian BBQ is when you visit the USA. . . Blue Smoke may not be the purest of BBQ restaurants, the room is corporate, modern and smoke free and the menu is not true to any one region or style - but for a novice from Australia with children it's a good place to start. Intentionally and geographically diverse. For instance the rib sampler for two ($39 and pictured above) has a mix of Memphis baby backs, Kansas city spareribs and Texas beef ribs. Children are well looked after, they are given toys and colouring sets at the start and later on a piece of short bread, shaped like a pig to decorate. This is then baked and presented to each child at the end of the meal. Brilliant. Tasting note: Dense, spiced and smokey. Ripe, large but still with structure and bones. Quite grainy, slightly sweet with cherry pips and firm tannins. http://feeds.feedburner.com/WinoSapien Click here for the original context
Very good fast friendly service. The food was smoked perfect and tasted fantastic. We had brisket and fried chicken with beans, cornbreadand biscuits.. Half eaten because we were very hungry.
Happy hour - great drinks, and fabulous wings, especially the white sauce.
We stayed for dinner and shared The Smoke Show which was an amazing, generous sampler. Plenty of leftovers to take home too. Great vibe. Indoor and outdoor seating.
The best beef brisket nacho! Chicken wings were great too. Happy hours $1 wings. Delicious drinks. Good prices.
The food was fantastic! The Alabama White wings appetizers were amazing. They had so much flavor it was addictive. The Memphis Baby Back Ribs were mouth watering and falling off the bones. The Beef Brisket and Pulled Pork Slidders were great as well. They were full of flavor, juicy and filling. The Mac and Cheese was a perfect combination with the Ribs. Our drinks were spot on to wash down our tasty meals. We couldn't leave without dessert. The Chocalate cookies were warm and chewy and just melted in your mouth. Our waitress was top notch on the service and gave good recommendations for our meal. The atmoshere was open, inviting and kid friendly. You could enjoy your meal inside or outside dining. A great place to have a date night or a family outting. My wife and I really enjoyed our meal at Blue Smoke. We will definitely be returning.
A great place full of atmosphere, great service and very tasty food.
We had the Alabama Wings, Brisket, and the smoked sausage with mashed sweet potatoes.
Everything was above expectations.
The food is great but I’m taking the time to review them because the service was fantastic. Best service I’ve gotten in a really long time. We had the ribs and it was fall off the bone tender. The mac and cheese was really good too. That was only highlighted by Tanner’s service. I will be back
Love this place, especially in the summer. Either way good place to chill. Dinner was great drinks were amazing. The music and the staff were on point. I do feel they can have a bigger selection of food.
Havent been in a year, but thought I should review to help the place. Used to be my favorite restaurant as a little kid and used to go when I lived in the city. Steak is amazing area is nice, and I somewhat remember having them do a make your own cookie type thing in the shape of a pig? Always a fun visit, just thinking back I can smell the steak. Sadly, I no longer eat meat and have not visited in a long time, but I hope others continue to enjoy
We have been searching for a good bbq place in town for a while; blue smoke is the best. The services are just so good first of all, friendly, comfortable and very attentive.
We ordered the whole pit, tried them all; great flavor, great flavor, great flavor, love the ribs; yes a lot of food for 2.
Will be back to try more wings, for sure.
We were staying near by and stopped by here for a quick brunch. It’s a very spacious venue and definitely good for a big group or even with strollers. The menu is simply bbq and everything we had there was great. Though my absolute favorite was actually beignet. It was really well done and I would go back just for that too. Corn bread is also very moist and might have been the best I’ve ever had.
