In LES is where this crustacean restaurant is located. Walking in, it’s not the ideal place to get seafood esthetically but the experience is one to remember! You will wear gloves, bibs & seafood breaking tools to eat. It’s all worth it because of the food. The crawfish was seasoned in garlic and butter and it So juicy ! The crawfish & shrimp had a zesty Cajun blend and were with potatoes and corn !! The sliders are huge with a heavy batter covering the catfish and cooked to perfection. The prices ranges anywhere from $10-25 a plate. The boil is definitely a night place for group dinners, & fun dates!

If you're craving for lobsters or big Alaskan crab legs, don't think any further. The Boil is the place to go to in downtown Manhattan. Seafood dipped in melted butter or with Cajun spices is mouth-watering. Even the fries are delicious. You have to come earlier than planned since there's always a line outside and they don't take reservations.

Cool vibe, music, people, servers and best of all, incredible seafood boils! Ordered two pounds of crawfish and one pound of shrimp... all was amazing. Such a fun, messy and delicious experience.

Usually dining experiences like these are more of a novelty than anything. There’s something truly satisfying eating with your hands and not caring about the mess afterwards.

The Boil proves to be more than that though, with quality seafood and a great house sauce! The clams were the biggest that I had ever seen and the king crab / lobster were excellent.

Truly something to try for any seafood enthusiast!

I rushed here thinking they would be closed at midnight but they stayed past their opening hours. We ordered the soft shell crab which I felt was quite reasonably priced and an order of their king crab with all their seasoning mix put together. I loved it! Especially because it was super super ridiculously garlicky. Your breath will be a complete write off, if that is an issue then steer clear of their garlic dressing.

Real good crab. I loved the food, the atmosphere and the bibs. I've had all three combos and every time it was seasoned to perfection. .

I have been craving for soft shelled crabs for a while so I just had to order one. It was so-so. But the fries that came with it was good. Calamari was good too!

We ordered 1lb crawfish, 1 lb shrimps, 1lb crabs. Total damage was about $100.00 if I remember correctly. Just for the three of us! But no regrets!

What can I say? their sauce was perfect! And so was their service. No wonder there was already a line outside as early as 4pm. Will come back here now everytime i go to NYC.

Cool place with a great ambiance. The boil makes you feel like you're somewhere special for dinner. You almost feel like you're at an exclusive private party. Cool music and great food. The oysters were delicious as was the crawfish boil and Cajun fries.

The Boil is a bayou-style seafood joint that opened in the LES in early 2013 to high acclaim. Everything you've come to expect from The Big Easy are here, from the brown paper lined tables, the bucket used to dispose of cracked shells, food served by the pound, and the garlic and butter sifting through the air. Touches like the exposed brick and tech-friendly POS system remind you you're still in the city. However, this place smells like heaven, especially if you love seafood...

Awesome. We went in the evening and waited around outside for almost an hour to get seats for two. Once we got seated, we ordered 6 oysters, crab cake, and seafood gumbo to start, and 1 lb of crawfish and 1 lb of shrimp in The Boil Special sauce. The oysters were very fresh and tasty. The crab cake was flavourful and it was packed together with a lot of crab meat! My bf loved the seafood gumbo and said it was the best he's ever had. Now for the crawfish and shrimp, it was our first time trying crawfish and we fell in love! The Boil Special sauce was full of great flavor which seasoned the crawfish and shrimp very well. Yum!!

Amazing!!! So good, we ate too much. Ordered the crab cake, Mac and cheese, 2lbs of snow crab legs (garlic butter + old bay, spicy) and 2 lbs of shrimp (garlic butter, mild), and steamed rice.
FYI the shrimp was my plate. Everything else was my honey!!
Can't wait to go back!

Tis the season for crawfish boils if you live in the South. I've been salivating over all of our friends in Texas' photos on Facebook and recently asked The Mr. if he's ever attended such an event. He had, but just remembered them being more work than worth it. So imagine my surprise when he asked if I wanted crawfish for dinner tonight! I guess our conversation had sparked some hidden craving and he used the magic of The Internets to find The Boil. We tried to get there on the early side (before 7pm) to avoid a wait, but no such luck. We were quoted an hour wait for a party of 2. We started our meal with the Soft Shell Crab Basket. The crab itself was just alright, but we recently had some soft shell crab at Izakaya Ten that rocked our world, so it probably wasn't a fair comparison. However, I really enjoyed the cajun fries and coleslaw that came with it. Appetites whetted, it was time for the main event. We definitely wanted a Combo because we wanted

My first time doing a Boil! It was really good! The food was very flavorful. The staff was very nice always checking in. We went on a Friday night around 6pm and it wasn't packed. The Cajun fries hit the spot. The brussel sprouts were good but not perfect. A bit too much vinegar towards the bottom but still pretty good. The boil itself was a fun experience. I'd do it again! They have a sink nearby so you can just wash your hands instead of going all the way to the bathroom.

This was my first time ever having the American seafood boil experience and it was unexpectedly fun! My friend and I had no idea how to eat crawfish or crab so a wonderful server came over and taught us. I can't wait to go back!

We like the cajun fries, mussels, snow crab and fried calamari. We go for mild spicy and non spicy, both are good. The staffs will hand you the napkin and plastics gloves to prevent getting your shirt and hand dirty. There is Happy hour till 6.30pm. Good service. A bit warm inside the restaurant, doesn't feel any aircon, just 2 ceilings fan.

I went out looking for a good crab spot and this was IT!!! The service was amazing starting with the hostess of the night who was such a sweetheart, then the bartender who made me the most amazing drink, and ending with the waiter and waitress who took our order and served out food. My dad got the sliders (3) which were great and very well seasoned. I got the crab legs (half) which was enough of food for me. It came with a potato that was cute up and a corn on the cob. The seafood boil seasoning was outstanding and made everything tatset divine! Definitely going to come here for all my seafood needs.

This place was very good I got the snow crab boil with the boil special sauce which is all their sauce mixed together with a medium heat. You have to try this one it’s so good and the medium heat dose have a kick. The prices are very good and the quality is good. They have a full bar with many selections of beer and cocktails.

Great as usual! All the seafood was fresh and well seasoned. We got varieties of fries, soft shell crab, Cajun fries. I’d highly recommend all even though I think that you can go wrong with anything you order there. It’s a cash only spot and gratuity of 20% is included. Lemonades were fresh and worth it too.

Decent seafood boil. The house special blend medium spice was buttery, savory, and overall a bit hot. Of the appetizers the fried zucchini was pretty crisp and seasoned well. The soft shell crab basket was okay, but nothing really special. The fries were perfectly crisp and seasoned very well. The sauces accompanying the various sides were pretty disappointing. Onto the mains, I had the crawfish, clams, and shrimp. I highly recommend the shrimp and clams as those were fairly worth while in terms of cost for food. The crawfish was extremely disappointing as it was a lot of work for very little to eat. The service was pretty standard. Nothing amazing, but not lacking at all. Cost-wise I would say it is not the cheapest meal, but fairly reasonable for okay seafood in New York.

Our group ordered the King Crab claws, headless shrimp, crawfish, calamari, crab roll, chicken wings, chicken tenders and corn - nothing was wasted, everything devoured. Great food, 100% recommend! Only problem is it’s a cash only restaurant which isn’t convenient but there is an ATM at the door.

Great place to take family. Maybe even a date. I believe the fish and shrimp were fairly fresh. Crab was about a day old but still very fresh and the service is OK. The manager does make his way through the entire floor throughout the night which is nice to see. Call

Really good dining experience, slightly different from the norm. As a first-time visitor to The Boil, it wasn't until we received our plastic gloves and 'bibs' that we realised it was going to be a little different. Great service. Good range of beers & wine at the bar. Very extensive food menu comprising crawfish, shrimps, and lobster with potatoes and sweetcorn in a sauce of your choosing. We opted for garlic butter, mild, with our pound of headless shrimp and lobster 🦞. The food was very good 👍.

The food is good. I love the mixed season option adding garlic. Lemon and Cajun all together for the perfect flavor. Oh and the fried catfish is delicious.

Glad that there is a good boil option in the city! I typically come here once or twice a quarter to indulge in the clam and shrimp boil with the addition of sausage (sometimes for crawfish). Service has always been great, so no complaints there. The reason I knocked off 1 star is because this establishment is a cash only establishment and they automatically include gratuity. Maybe a better strategy would be to raise the food price and pay your employees fairly and provide the option to customers to pay with credit card or get a slight discount if paid in cash. Just my 2 cents. :)

My experience here was pretty good. The waitress did a great job servicing the tables. The food was tasty! The atmosphere was good, and the price is not bad at all for the quality of the food we received. I highly recommend their non alcoholic drinks as it was tasty as some restaurants none alcoholic drinks would taste like water! Highly recommended!
