Marseille is one of my favorite restaurants. The staff is efficient & kind, the prices are reasonable, lots of good craft drinks & wine, the decor makes me feel like I'm in France, people watching there is 5-star, and the food is delicious! I had four little tomatoes stuffed w/Moroccan merguez sausage and melt-in-your-mouth goat cheese on top, then followed that up w/a Mediterranean salad: chopped ripe tomatoes, cucumber, arugula, fennel, kalamata olives and feta. Divine afternoon!

Wonderful pre-theater birthday dinner last night at Marseille! Outstanding service and amazing food! The waiter recommended the special appetizer of a goat cheese tart and we chose that to start. It was wonderful. Entrees we ordered were short rib bourguignon, Tuscan chicken, lamb tagine with couscous, and orechiette. A good cross section of the menu. All were amazing!! The waiter again recommended the special dessert which was a scrumptious chocolate layered dessert with raspberry champagne sorbet. Delicious!! They also brought me a complimentary flute of prosecco and a cookie plate with a candle for my birthday! The atmosphere is cozy and though the restaurant was packed the noise level was tolerable. A memorable dinner!

From cocktails & wine to appetizers, entrees & dessert including the service...everything was truly fabulous. Several of us had dietary issues & they couldn't have been more accommodating beginning with our waiter who could not have been kinder & on top of his game. Including the assistant waiters. We truly had a wonderful experience throughout & will return. When you go to Marseilles.... Bon Appetite!!

A bientôt

Enjoyed a nice Sunday brunch here after walking around NYC on a cold day. I ordered the smoked salmon eggs benedict and it was absolutely delicious. I also got a classic mimosa and it was the perfect balance of champagne and oj. Great French Bistro, nice environment!

Always great experience there. For so many years - the best French restaurant in Hell's Kitchen. Snails! Crab cake! Duck breast!

Came here for a fixed price dinner on Christmas Day. The service was wonderful! Just the right amount of attention, quietly filling water glasses as soon as they were empty, but never obtrusive or absent. The food was also delicious- the lobster bisque was divine, and they have the best fries I’ve ever tasted! Their branzino fillet entree was so delicious and cooked perfectly. I usually really enjoy sticky toffee pudding, but theirs was not my favorite. However, my son had their apple tart and it was delicious.

We went on a Saturday afternoon around the Happy Hour of oysters time without reservation but the receptionist accommodated us, table for 2, even though later - for dinner - the restaurant was fully booked. That was much appreciated. I’d been in this restaurant in 2019 and had some oysters and nibbles which had been very nice, so decided to come back. We had as a starter the baguette with butter and olive oil. Afterwards a dozen of oysters (1,50 each). To drink a bottle of an Italian white wine named Dama (around $48/$52). I kept going with the oysters, had half a dozen myself, to finish the wine and the other person had an onion soup, in a very much French style as expected. What makes me give 4 and not 5 stars is due to near to the end of the meal the waitress approached our table to ask if we wanted some more wine and when I asked for the wine list to choose another wine. We wanted to decide whether we’d order it by the glass or just another bottle as we usually do. In a subtle way, it felt like she kinda refused to bring the list, ignoring I’d asked for it, saying ‘so, the ones by the glass we have are these these and that’. I wanted to see the list and have time to choose, perhaps a wine that could go well with a desert. I understand the good intention of giving recommendation but at the same time there’s a way of recommending and at the same time bringing the menu so the guest can choose what’s best for them. In the end, we got one of the wines by the glass she’d mentioned but price wise it wasn’t worth it as each glass was around $16/18. We had baguette and butter, 18 oysters, a bottle of wine + two glasses, an onion soup, duck liver’s mousse with toast - the bill was $160 (service not included). Service a bit slow, especially when it comes to topping up our wines which are kept very away from us, so we had to keep asking. But overall, a good experience.

Great place to come before or after a show. They have happy hour oysters daily until 5:30pm and they were a hit. The frog legs where a surprising delight from the appetizers and from the main the short rib and chicken stuffed with mushrooms where a hit. The ambiance was also very inviting. We were big fans of the dimmed lighting. We had a birthday at the party and the staff did a great job organizing it.

We had SUCH a wonderful time for my birthday dinner before going to see Hamilton. Our server Austin was incredible! She took pictures for us, catered to our every need with a smile and made sure we got to our show on time. Thanks!!

Delicious and charming French restaurant. We went for brunch and tried various items and almost everything was delightful. The waffles were rock hard but the brioche French toast was to die for so that made up for it.

Situated on 9th Avenue and 44th Street, this establishment is a slice of France in Hell’s Kitchen, where we returned after 3 years for brunch today. Popular with theater goers, it is advisable to book ahead during peak pre-show hours via Open Table. Upon entering Marseille, the interior has a French art deco, retro, parlor vibe with the multi-design tiled floors, but is rather noisy inside. My partner, our friend and I were greeted by the host, who promptly seated us at one of the cozy tables by the bar, where we were able to hold a conversation. We immediately had water, and the menu consisted of various brunch specialties. We started off with a celebratory cocktail and got a Bellini and a Ruby Red Sunrise. For starters, I ordered the escargots with baguette crostini. As a main meal, we opted for the Croque Monsieur with Provençal Chips, Avocado Toast with Eggs Sunny Side Up, and Croissant Florentine. The food was authentic and delicious, with traditional preparations of standard classics that somehow felt modern and new. The portions were considerable and not overpriced. Throughout, the staff, especially our server, Liza, were attentive, friendly, and professional. Overall, it was an unforgettable birthday experience, which we can recommend.

Johnny, our server, was exceptional. I was Towers Butler at the Waldorf and this was true, old world service. The decor is appropriately French cafe (think Deux Magots but much smaller). The food was exquisite. The best steak we have had in months. Paired with the suggested pinot noir (again, thanks to Johnny), a French Onion Soup and a pot au créme, this was a perfect meal. Just perfect to set the mood yo watch Joaquin Phoenix be Napoleon at the nearby IMAX. Thank you for a perfect meal.

Marseille is an excellent choice for authentic French cuisine and though our reservations were inadvertently made for two, they easily accommodated the four of us. The ambience was great, however the service was bit below par. The server took forever to bring our checks and barley checked on us. That’s my only complaint/concern. Otherwise, the restaurant was a wonderful experience.

The ambiance here is fantastic and the food is even better. We had steak tartare, shakshuka and bottomless mimosas. Another at our table had a cheeseburger and said it was the best she's ever had. Unfortunately I can't give more than 5 stars!

The food was fresh, cooked perfectly and delicious. I had fish which can be difficult to cook well and must be good quality fish, which it was. The server was experienced and attentive. The restaurant was a little noisy with a strange choice of music, 80 -70s pop, which didn't exactly fit the overall ambience of the place, however this is an extremely small "cross" for a lot "ticks" and I recommend Marseille as a place to go to.

Distinctive, spacious, well designed space, highly trained staff. Duck liver mousse was superb. Vegetable couscous was a bit bland. My companion had the salmon, cooked just as she asked. Apple tarte--well, the French are masters of this dessert. Definitely will return to dine here again. Handy to Port Authority after theatre.
