A Wonderful Evening
After reading all of the reviews about price being an issue, I may have given this restaurant four stars. Since we came here as guests of some amazing new friends, price was not an issue. So I am going off of the food only. The food was simply amazing. We had a smorgasbord of seafood appetizers, soups, salads, pastas, steak, fish, crab, lobster, desserts, fine wine. You name it, we had it. Everything was perfect. It was an honor to be guests of this fine restaurant. We really enjoyed our evening here. You have to try the Neopolitan. Amazing!!!
We started with drinks at the bar and were served soprasetta and parmigiano reggiano on a plate as a snack. Once seated we had the beef short rib ravioli which was delicious as an appetizer, I had the filet and it was tender and tasty. We had a variety of desserts with port and they were incredible. The owner came by a couple of times to make sure everything was alright. All in all an excellent evening!!!
Great food and excellent service.... Preface, this meal was on someone elses dime so I'm not going to consider value in my review.
The place is large and charming. The staff was very inviting and the service was very prompt and attentive.
We had several appetizers including a stuffed calamari dish which was amazing and also the house carpaccio. The salads and fresh cheeses were outstanding. My entree was cooked perfectly to my liking and beautifully presented. We sampled several desserts including the molten chocolate cake and all of them were delightful.
All told, I was very pleased with my experience.
Words cannot do it justice.... Our dining experience at Valbella this past Saturday was without question one of the best of my life. The architecture is fabulous, the wine selection unparalleled, the staff superb, and the food exquisite. We arrived early for a glass of wine at the bar and a walk around to enjoy the decor. After chatting with the owner, we made our way to a wonderful table near the light rushing in from the street. Fresh cheese and meats for an appetizer, followed by a burrata cheese special with peppers, arugula, and artichokes...simply delicious. Dinner specials for us included giant rigatoni in a wonderful sauce, and a huge branzino filet over a ridiculously generous amount of crab meat. Both were fantastic, and left me nearly speechless. Little did I know that speechlessness would be accomplished by the dessert. Neapolitan for two arrived and changed my life. The light pastry dough with layers of a vanilla mousse, covered in thinly sliced toasted almonds. We enjoyed a wonderful bottle of wine over the course of the evening, a delightful selection from the Barolo region. The wine selection is unbelievable and a treat in and of itself.
Trust me when I tell you my descriptions do not do any of this justice...as such, you must try this for yourself. You have two choices: get to Valbella and treat yourself, or live in regret every day you do not.
Great location in trendy area. Service was very attentive. Good balance of being nearby without being intrusive. Salad before dinner was excellent. Fresh and perfect portion. Dinner entree was flavorful and creative mix of flavors. Desserts were amazing. Biggest negative was the noise level.
The food was excellent!. The food was great! The noise was painfully loud but the wait staff constantly tried to refill full water glasses even though we told them not to. The most beautiful people were there.
