This is kind of an old-fashioned neighborhood place and we just love it. The food and service are excellent. I have been for dinner and for Sunday brunch. When I say old-fashioned, I am not including the food which has many options that will please foodies.
French style brasserie on the UWS. Beautiful retro bar with a well stocked selection of wines and liquors. Superior service in a pretty room full of pretty people. Not pricey and the Cobb Salad was a hit along with the Faroe Island salmon served on a bed of beet humus. Don’t skip dessert. Have the homemade ice cream with an Irish coffee.
We found this place that was within walking distance to our hotel, I must say we were not disappointed. Although we didn't have reservations; we were accommodated ; the host offered us a table that was reserved for a later time (thanks again) Excellent service and delectable cuisine. I would definitely recommend eating here.
Always a delight to dine at Cafe Luxembourg . Delicious food , great wine and fabulous service in a comfortable atmosphere.
It’s small, but very quaint. The food is good... a lot of French flair in a hearty meal. If you’re strolling along Broadway, it’s a great place to rest for a moment and to enjoy some good cuisine.
We spent our thanksgiving dinner at Cafe Luxembourg and the tasty special French style thanksgiving cuisine was really great. The staff were attentive, quick, very responsive and ensured we were relaxed and in full comfort throughout our evening. We will be returning again and highly recommend it!
Food, service and ambiance were all top drawer. I had the grilled octopus starter and salmon for my entree, savoring every bite. Our server recommended that we shared the quince tarte tartin; it was amazing and I'm coming back to have one all to myself!
One of those hidden jewels the locals go to. The food is amazing and the staff super friendly. Definitely worth visiting.
Always the go to neighborhood staple for a great brunch, afternoon wine, or exciting diner. Decades of warmth and perfection found here.
The lobster roll was very good and their spin on QUE is Rancheros was excellent too. The Cosma is made as a Cosmo should be. Just a tinge of pink and not to sweet. Highly recommend it.
Stumbled upon this stunning hidden gem! Service and food was outstanding. The lobster bisque was amazing. Highly recommended and we'll be back soon 🎄
Great brunch spot. Terrific food, good service and lovely ambiance. The flattering lighting helps too!!!
Without doubt my favourite restaurant in the entire world. It's just all so good and all so routine; in a most reassuring way.
Great Brunch place. Service is great you are always attended. Food was so good I was only able to take one pic as everyone jumped on their food. We had a salmon eggs Benedict, purple sticky rice bowl , and a burger. For desert we tried their fresh mini donuts.
I liked the eggs Benedict options with smoked salmon or florentine etc depending on a person’s mood
Taking a star off because they told us that the OJ in mimosa is not freshly squeezed when confirmed with the server 😬 hard to believe for a place like this
I have never given a place full stars. This place definitely deserves it. From their amazing service to outstanding food. I fell inlove with their tuna burger and their house made chocolate mint chocolate chip ice cream. 100% recommend
Staff were extremely friendly and the ambience was quite nice.
I ordered the steak frites rare, potato leek soup, and the profiteroles.
Overall a great experience with the potato leek soup and the fries being the highlight of the meal.
Great place, made reservations and were seated right away. Atlantic Cod and Half chicken were amazing. They make their own ice cream must have desert is sticky toffee.
Always a favorite of mine for brunch...never disappoints. It can be difficult to get a table sometimes because it is very popular but it's worth a wait. From the egg Benedict to the cocktails and dessert the quality is top-notch. The outdoor seating is especially cozy.
I always stop here for steak frites with a classic martini and bubbles, When visiting New York. It’s a classic Manhattan restaurant. The service is always excellent, food consistently good. Hosts are warm and professional. Busy space with a great vibe. Love it!
Went here for the first time in many years and was totally happy with our early dinner. Food was delicious, service was great, ambiance is good but feels like it needs a little update.
Great food, grilled cheese was toasted to perfection. The fries were perfect as long as you manage to keep it hot...as they become cold they turn into ordinary fries....the French toast was sucklant and maple syrup was really good.
I had to get the cappuccino twice it was delicious, make sure to get it double shot.
Service was spot on, attentive.
The outdoor area is enclosed and has a heater on top of every table nice and warm,
One of the classic old Upper West Side institutions. Food reliable, well prepared and consistent. Always a lovely crowd and the bar scene is especially convivial. A typical French bistro menu with classics like French Onion Soup and steak frites but elevated. It's always crowded so make a reservation.
Lovely place. It was super crowded so we set on the bar. All waiters were busy and bartender took our order and we received all the food extremely quick. French onion soup was good, a bit too salty. Crème brûlée was just amazing!
As a big When Harry Met Sally fan, this place has been on my top lists of places to eat in New York. We sat at the bar, and had a truly perfect experience. The wine, the oysters, the service - truly astonishingly good.
This is one of my go to upper Westside lunch places. It is definitely more upscale and the food is delicious. My favorites are the country, frise salad, soup of the day, tuna, burger, and salmon tartare. Their regular burgers are excellent… And so are their fries. It’s a very NYC crowd always… And never a dull moment. The staff are on their toes and keeping the diners happy. If you want to eat there… You should make a reservation.
One of my favorite NYC restaurants and always a place to look forward to dining at. The French cuisine is always on point and I've never had a miss. And although this is a staple of the UWS frequented by celebrities and public figures, there is nothing pretentious about Cafe Luxembourg—even the prices are fair. The first time we went here was for an anniversary dinner, and we've returned several times since for various occasions.
We have been visiting Cafe Luxembourg on our NYC visits for over 25 years. This week we dined at Cafe Lux three times and our meals were perfect. I had the three egg omelet on our first and third visits and the French Toast on the other visit.
Service is always impeccable and Michael at the bar mixes some great cocktails.
We will be returning again in December.
Lovely reunion lunch with friends of many years. Delicious food, imaginative cocktails (I heartily recommend the "Three Naked Ladies") -- and oh, that luscious sticky toffee pudding! Attractive and solicitous staff, excellent celebrity spotting (we were utterly thrilled to see fellow diner Nathan Lane!)
Great place with great and good service.
The staff was very friendly and professional, not like other places in NY… . And if you’re lucky, you’ll meet some celebs in there.
Delicious dishes with attentive and flexible service. Will gladly return when I am back to the city.
The food was ok, but the service was really good in a nice atmosphere. Must visit.
