My first time dining at Aureole was on Tuesday night we were visiting NYC for a tasting and only there for the day and were lucky enough to be able to dine in this beautiful restaurant. We arrived early and enjoyed a cocktail at the bar then moved to our table right at our reservation time. We perused the menu a bit where they offer an incredible value for a pre fix show menu of 3 courses for $55?! I however was craving fois and we decided to go a la carte instead which was a decision we did not regret. The wine list is also truly amazing and very well thought out with some real treasures integrated within, we decide to leave the wine up to the Sommelier/ Wine Director Morgan which trying to compliment the food as well as our mix of old world and new world wine preferences was not an easy feat but he managed to recommend 3 fantastic choices all within our price range. The fois preparation was phenomenal and a textural dream as well as the complimentary glass of Sauternes the perfect classic pairing, I went with the Veal special which was perfectly prepared and amazingly tender and the unique and lovely poached pear dessert. All in all with the combined seemless service from the incredibly attentive captain and manager guiding the way we enjoyed every aspect of our dinner and will absolutely be back!

I celebrated my 40th birthday at Aureole and it was an amazing evening. We had the chef's tasting menu in the Dining Room and both service and food was fantastic. The kitchen even sent a birthday message on my dessert plate, which was a touching gesture. Couldn't be happier with how everything was – thanks to all the staff for making it such a special evening for me and my husband! :)

Had the chef's tasting menu tonight to celebrate our anniversary. Everything was fantastic. The food, wine pairings, and all the little extras the staff generously provided to help make our evening that much more memorable. A huge thank you goes out to everyone at Aureole!

Celebrated 60th birthday here. Best gourmet meal we have had in NYC. Even better than CIA in Hyde Park. Wait staff was as special as the food. Thank you.

This restaurant is really nice and in the perfect location if you are going to a show. The food was great. I had salmon - perfectly cooked and my son had the flat iron steak. We both ate every bite. The oysters for appetizer were awesome - very fresh. The service was excellent.

It’s been a while since we wanted to try Aureole, located close to Bryant Park. When making the reservation, they asked if we wanted to dine in the casual or formal dining room, where a tasting menu was served. We went for the latter and did not regret it. The food and service at this acclaimed Charlie Palmer’s restaurant were impeccable and they accommodated Jodi with a vegetarian menu that was definitely not an afterthought.

7 course tasting meal with paired wines. Outstanding. Nuff said. Just an incredible experience in the dining room. Highly recommend you try this under Gabrielle Carpentieri.

I had a nice dinner here. I went for the tuna tartare and the Scottish Salmon. Great staff, good experience and thought it was overall very good. I enjoyed the wine.

Charlie Palmer’s flagship restaurant, Aureole is housed near bustling Times Square, between the Bank of America and Condé Nast buildings.

Michelin-starred Executive Chef Christophe Bellanca and pastry chef Jennifer Yee lead the kitchen at Aureole. The food can be outstanding in parts like our appetizers of Broiled Mayan Prawns and the fluke. But it can also be deeply disappointing as was their winter vegetable risotto, which was served in the paltriest portion I have ever seen.

Still, I do believe that Aureole does have the potential to serve up some stellar food. In hopes of an outstanding meal…I will revisit sometime soon.

Weird service experience, but a fabulous meal. I've had some of the best service I've ever experienced in NYC, but Aureole does not rank among them. To start, our party of 3 was seated in a weird corner table at the back of the restaurant, with any hopes of a view blocked by a massive column. We felt slighted but didn't raise a fuss. The rest of our service experience was just weird... the waiter asked if he could top off our wine, but then walked away. The sommelier brought the wrong wine and then insisted it was what we ordered. It was quite disjointed from the beginning to the end. That being said, our meals were outstanding. Two of us shared the duck dish (be prepared, it takes 45 to make) and it was absolutely outstanding. Generous portion, perfectly cooked duck, beautiful cassoulet, and delicious kale. We would absolutely go back for this dish alone... I hope it stays on the menu until my next visit.

Pre show. We stopped in for the pre-show prix fixe (available until 6PM). No disappointments. Great value for the price, and nice selection of wines by the glass. We'll be back.

Absolutely no complaints, except that I didn't have enough to order more. The chicken had such a lovely crisp, crunchy skin. Impeccable service, great atmosphere and good food!

Just what we were after. Visiting from Australia and our last night in NYC, we wanted somewhere a little bit special to go for dinner. One of my friends was also going to a show in Times Square so we wanted somewhere close and available early. We were able to make a booking on Friday afternoon for a 5pm sitting that night for four people on OpenTable. We had the option of the pre-theatre and the full menus but we all chose the pre-theatre menu and thought the food was excellent. Not overly fussy or deconstructed (which I'm not a fan of), just decent servings of quality food. Service was outstanding and the chef was able to make adjustments to the meals for my gluten intolerant friend. Cocktails were ok, nothing out of the ordinary but tasty. Appreciated the extra touches like the caviar starter, sorbet and mousse palate cleanser, and the petit fours to finish. I would eat here again.

Superb. Made reservations based on reviews on OpenTable. Enjoyed a 3-course pre-fixe dinner for family before going to a play. As others say, allow up to two quiet, unrushed, attentive hours for your meal. Service started off a bit slow, but quickly picked up. Staff were prompt, courteous, efficient, and helpful. Server helped pair glasses of wine with our courses, despite glasses of wine not being intended for that purpose. Each course was elegant, fresh, and very tasty. We all opted for the hangar steak, with three different levels of doneness--all were excellent. This was amongst the best places I've dined. Prices are in line with similar venues (about $80 per person). Great bet for mature children or romantic couples dining. Highly recommended.

Great Dining Experience. The service at Aureole was spectacular, the ambiance was great and the food was down right excellent. I left Aureole with not a single complaint and having one of the better dining experiences I have had in a very long time. I will hopefully be visiting again shortly. A++ honestly.

Top notch food, look and service, though you definitely pay for it. Don't go too hungry, because this isn't the kind of place that will fill you up.

Most attentive service in midtown,. Excellent and varied food and wine (even by the glass) menu. It's hard to explain just how good the service is and their total attention to absolutely every detail. Will eat here regularly before Broadway Shows or just whenever in Midtown.

Love this place - see my Vegas review. I prefer this location to the one in Vegas. The Oyster appetizer of any type is what I will shoot for and usually a fish. But the last time I had a veal and sweetbread dish that was hean in my mouth. Oh and the Caymus to wash it down made it a perfect Friday Date in the city.

A nice find. I had the tasting menu and the steak was great. I had ordered it medium but they made it medium-rare which turned out to be a better idea. Rabbit tortellini with ham hocks were standouts and I enjoyed and savored each course. I got miffed with paying all that money to have to pour my own sparkling water and quietly mentioned it to the maitre d and after that the service really improved. As a courtesy, they took off the money for the additional foie gras course which was superb.

The chicken was incredibly cooked and moist and cut with absolute precision. The skin was crispy and a little salty, which was wonderful, especially when combined with the jus and the mushrooms placed artfully around the plate. The mushroom cannelloni added extra texture and some interesting flavours to the plate which on the whole was a masterpiece.

Of course for New York's Restaurant Week I just had to check out Aureole. Charlie Palmer's second attempt at Aureole had received mixed reviews from publications such as the New York Times & New York Magazine, I decided I should try it for restaurant week

I only went to have a few drinks at the bar. The staff was so warm and friendly that it felt like we were all long time buddies. I ended up have appetizers and desert and the food was delicious. Rightly price too when you factor their location. Good vibes

Spend my partner’s birthday dinner at Aureole and we had a fantastic evening. From being greeted by name, loads of “happy birthdays” from the staff and a little extra birthday dessert. The food was excellent and of a very high quality. The chef is a true talent and does a great job. We got a 7 course tasting with wine pairing and not a single course disappointed. Visit the restaurant after 8pm to avoid the pre theatre rush.

Excellent spot, especially for restaurant week! We had the heirloom tomatoes and salmon tartare to start - the pesto on the heirloom tomatoes is surprisingly delicious! We had the striped bass, chicken and pasta for mains - the striped bass with corn and grains was really good. We ended with the strawberries dessert, which was light and delicious - they had a spearmint coulis that is so good. Their wine list is great too! Overall highly recommend this spot.

This is a great restaurant in Times Square. I took family visiting from LA to try the food and we were all pleasantly surprised. The food and the service was excellent. We were given a high end experience you wouldn’t expect in a part of town that is mainly tourists. My favorite was the egg dish. Totally different from anything I’ve ever had. I will definitely come back again!

This place seems to be fine dining, but we came during restaurant week at the last seating (10pm on a Friday) and it left something to be desired. The food was good, but the service was a bit rushed. Unfortunately, not over the top experience like I was expecting from things I've heard in the past. The main course came out when we were still finishing our appetizers. Nothing was bad, I was just expecting a more sophisticated experience.

We had lunch here and it was delicious. We had the Roasted Icelandic Cod - shellfish caponata, sea foam, basil and the Caramelized Sonoma Chicken - herbed gnocchi, baby brussels, onion chutney, chanterelles. It’s definitely worth a visit and I will certainly come back.

Their greeters and our waiter were very courteous and nice. Our waiter recommended a great Riesling. The service in between meals was a bit wonky. We had our appetizer and it took about 30 minutes after that for our main course to come out. Not sure if this was due to it being restaurant week. The food was good. I had their organic roasted chicken and it was delicious. Dessert was yummy, just a perfect amount to satisfy your craving for something sweet without over-indulging.

Went for restaurant week. It was pretty good. Got the squid pasta and the veal cheeks. The meet was kinda fatty but still good. One annoying thing was the long lines at the bathroom, but that's Manhattan I guess.

Aureole has two dining "partitions", the casual Liberty Room and the formal Dining Room. As far as I can tell, they serve the same menu. We prefer casual settings and had lunch at the Liberty Room. Its pre-fixe lunch, three courses for $43 or two courses (without dessert) for $38, is a steal for fine dining in the city. However, each course only has two choices. We had Pork Belly as a starter. Its skin was crispy and meat tender. For main course, my husband had the Veal Osso Buco and I had the Tilefish. Both dishes were very good. However, the Peanut-Chocolate Tart dessert was a bit too sweet for my taste. Services were excellent. We would definitely go back again.

Nice restaurant with good food, in a central area of NYC. Everyone enjoyed their meal - the food gras was nice, and my steak done well (and actually rare). The service was very good and friendly too.
