A wonderful restaurant hidden away in Kips Bay. Very authentic food and reasonable prices. Probably one of our favourite meals in NYC. Service was great and nice ambience too. Just one of many great restaurants in the Kips Bay area.
Great Lunch Specials. You can't beat this restaurant for its inexpensive lunch deals (especially for NYC). A 2 course meal for $12.95 or a 4 course one for $16.95 == and the entrees are not mini versions but full sized with rice pilaf (or couscous or brown rice) and potatoes along with grilled red peppers. There were also a lot of variety from which to choose. We settled on the taramosalata (caviar dip) and an eggplant dip; Next was a grilled lamb kebob and a grilled lamb burger (kofte). Our friend had 2 appetizers -- vine leaves and felafel -- and said they were equally yummy. Definitely will be back next time we are in the City.....
Great food and environment. I especially liked the lamb sish kabob.
Good Food, simply put.. Style of preparation of certain dishes might be odd to you, if you are from Turkey and know Turkish cuisine quite well and how it differs from region to region within the country.
For the rest of us, it's 'good eatin' hardcore. Not cheap, but not too expensive...and you get what you pay for. Here you get slighly more in terms of quality.
AND they deliver!! locally though.
Nice lamb. Very nice lamb. I cant remeber when I last went there, but I'm going off of memeory and a review was well deserved so I'm writing it, better late than never
BEST FOOD. I have gotten really excellent service The food here is absolutely awesome. I have Definitlely worth a trip for the food, though.
Flavorful Mediterranean. I've been twice now and both times this place has been packed to the gills. It's an enjoyable dining experience surrounded by a bunch of loud, happy people. The decor hurts my eyes a little...bright red walls... but when the food comes I quickly forget all about the paint.
The food at Turkish Kitchen is very flavorful and aromatic. They use a lot of pungent herbs, spices, and oils which really enhances the freshness of the ingredients and makes for a very tasty and enjoyable dinner. I love the Bean Salad. White beans, celery, tomatoes, red onions, garlic, cilantro and other spices make this fresh, cool, dish one that's hard to share. I find I want to eat the whole portion by myself and it takes great effort to reserve some of it so I can take it home for later. For the entree I am drawn to the Doner Kebab. Thinly sliced lamb served over rice. Simple, perfectly seasoned...delicious.
The service is wonderful and attentive and the prices are appropriate for the portion size. If you're new to Turkish (Mediterranean) cuisine they now offer a Sunday Buffet Brunch with two seatings that offer up everything on the menu giving you the opportunity to sample a lot of exotic dishes without having to commit to any one thing. Highly Recommended.
Turkish Kitchen is celebrating 20years in business. That's like 200 in restaurant years.
A look at the history of Turkey gives us clues as to why its cuisine is considered by some to be one of the world's finest. Turkey was the heart of the Ottoman Empire, which at one point encompassed most of the Mediterranean basin. The imperial capital, I
Delicious Turkish, you can never go wrong always keeps its quality, every dish is delicious. Ask for Olga and Ugur they are the best hostess and host.
One of my favorite Turkish restaurants. The owner/manager was short staffed but served us personally and was able to seat us without reservations!! Definitely, a cut above the rest!!
Good Turkish food similar that my brother in law who's from Turkey approved. I enjoyed the kebabs.
Stopped in before a show. Glad we.did. aging service and food was delicious.
We ordered all of the apps and it did not disappoint.
Such a lovely surprise. Definitely recommend
Baklava: great balance of crispiness, sweetness and nuttiness. The portion size is little small.
Turkish tea: very balanced and great flavours.
Service:amazing staff and service.
Ambience: very upscale, fine dining kind of ambience.
Ordered takeout and was very impressed. The meat was tender and rice well cooked. Bread was fresh too!

The prix fixe menu is a great deal and they have plenty of space upstairs to accommodate a larger group. The service was quick and they handled our order with ease. Fresh bread comes out with the salads and appetizers and we couldn't get enough. All the food was delicious, well seasoned, and not too heavy. I recommend trying the Turkish tea with your dessert.
My family of 4 had an excellent dinner last night. Ate everything including multiple refills of bread, everything was delicious. Service was courteous Thank you so much for your hard work!
Good Mediterranean food with large number of options to choose from. Portions are good and the prices are a decent overall.
They also have a large variety of drinks, including Mediterranean themed ones to choose from, but they are a bit pricey.
One of the best Turkish restaurants I’ve been to. The mixed grill was perfect in every way. Service was great. Atmosphere is cozy. Reasonable prices. Eggplant with tomato sauce appetizer was a bit cold for my taste. There was a minor hiccup in which they provided me with a baby size Diet Coke in a cup filled with ice and then charged me for a second drink when I asked for a refill, but the manager was kind enough to remove the second charge. Dessert (kinafa) was also excellent.
Best Turkish food in NYC! I liked that it's not just kebabs, menu includes different regional Turkish food too. We went as big group on a Saturday night, reservation was easy. They accommodate last minute requests amazingly well. Service was great, food is insaneeee!!!
Delicious food in a beautiful atmosphere. Their unique cocktails are also quite delightful. They brought us a fruit plate (pictured) on the house that had very fresh fruit.
Brunch is now at $30 with a good selection of specialities. Very good deal for NY. The meat is of good quality, better than many american restaurants. Not a busy place, no need to book.
Turkish home restaurant, with friendly staff and delicious food. If you want to eat delicious oriental cuisine, I recommend.
Delicious food! Very nice Maitre d .. they gave us free baclavas!
Delicious food you can tell the ingredients are fresh, packed with flavors, great service
