The tall handsome waiter was very helpful . I forgot my reading glasses and he found a pair for me to use. The food was delicious . The drinks were well made too!
This classic Italian is full of great New York character and kind of a must visit maybe pre-Lincoln Center. Had a couple of seafood pastas - the seafood part was great except the lobster and shrimp were clearly frozen but the red sauce was amazing! Better than anywhere.
Service was nice except the uniforms they wear are kind of ridiculous. Wonderful atmosphere and a sense you could be in Queens or anywhere in New York. Crowd was older and local.
Food was as delicious as it was attractive. The waiter was attentive and manager friendly and engaging. The menu was large and reasonably priced. Restaurant and bathrooms were very clean. We will definitely be back.
I had an absolutely wonderful experience at this restaurant. The staff was friendly and attentive, treated me like family from the moment I arrived til the moment I left. The food was fresh and delicious, the portion sizes are huge and the pricing is reasonable.
For an appetizer I ordered the Ricotta, walnut, and cranberry stuffed zucchini flowers with a red sauce. It had a mild sweetness from the cranberries, with a nice crunch from the walnuts and when paired with the sauce it was the perfect balance of sweet and savory. I would definitely order this again, and again if I lived closer.
And for my main course I ordered the Ravioli alla Aragosta - Fresh ravioli stuffed with lobster meat in a light cream sauce. This was a perfectly balanced meal, it was sweet, it was savory, it melted in your mouth, and none of the flavors overpowered the others, instead they complemented each other with every bite.
The experience was definitely a 10/10. Next time I'm in New York I'll be back.
No wait for lunch and the service was very prompt and friendly. Tables were separated by a thin curtain which made it feel cozy and exclusive. Meal included some bread. Calamari was a surprisingly large serving for an appetizer. It was noteworthy that one of the servers seemed to have a few local regulars, which usually speaks to the legitimacy of a place not being a tourist trap. Food was pretty good, fairly large serving. House wine was fine. Tap water was good as usual.
Food was delicious and service was good considering they appeared to be short staffed. They had one of my favorite wines from Sicily to top off a great experience. Everyone is friendly, prices are reasonable and it is my 4th time here!
Service very good. Food delicious. Chicken piccata, the sauce is good but I like thinner chicken, this is a personal preference. My husband loved the shrimp and
The penne vodka is good. Pasta needed to be cooked a bit more But it’s was still great. My daughter loves the salmon here. The bread is great served with dinner.
10 all the way! This place made you feel like home, you walk in and the owner is there showing people to their seat and chatting it up. The table bread and olives were a delightful surprise. Now let's talk about the food!! Out of this world with flavor!! Marking this down as a must come again.
Our first time in New York and we found this wonderful restaurant. The food is absolutely fabulous and we've thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Service and ambience is first class. We will certainly return. One not to be missed.
We ate outside at their outside structure due to rising covid cases, they kept the door cracked so there was good ventilation. It was a cold night and though they had heat lamps it was still a bit chilly but we were sitting very close to the cracked door because I wanted all that air flow. The outside structure is well decorated and doesn't feel kitschy.
Service was great, suggested a good wine replacement for what we originally chose since they were out. The pasta was yummy, I think the pizza we got to share was just ok and the salad I got was fresh but nothing special. Still good and I would visit again for just the pasta and maybe try something else on the menu just to see what else might be good.
We really enjoyed this place. Took a chance and popped in with an empty stomach. The staff were nothing short of excellent. Started to pick up around 5ish. As for the food, it was great. I asked the waiter what was spicy or had a kick to it and he replied with "we can do that for any dish you like". So my dish was delicious and catered to my liking, and as for my girl friend, she loved her meal too. Would highly recommend.
Great pre-Lincoln Center option. Friendly, attentive service. Food is good, portions are large. Nice, quiet atmosphere in the back room. I've never been disappointed.
We stumbled onto this place by accident. The atmosphere was very similar to Italy. Small, narrow, authentic, with outdoor seating on the street. The food was pretty great. The pizza is a bari style pizza. Thin and crispy and very flavorful. The mozzarella was extremely creamy and fresh. The bread at the beginning was awesome. The chicken parm was ok. And the service was a bit slow (very authentically Italian). We enjoyed the cheesecake dessert. Overall a pretty wonderful time.
We stumbled upon this restaurant on a first date after going to amc on Broadway. When I tell you that not only was the food great, the service was outstanding in every way imaginable. We felt welcomed, and the service was so attentive!!! This made a first date so memorable for what could be an otherwise awkward situation. We shared a salad w grilled shrimp and feta, it was huge. I had the chicken parm, he had the halibut and we shared the tiramisu. Soooo good! Thank you, everyone! 😊
Had an excellent dinner at Pomodoro Rosso on Friday night. Nice socially distanced tables and good service. We enjoyed their rosemary focacia bread with garlic olive oil, seafood linguini pasta, carbonara pasta and lobster and pappardelle pasta. Tiramisu was delicious too.
On Columbus between 70 & 71st, perfect location to stop by after a nice walk in the park. Staff is very friendly and the food is good. Weekends have brunch, but traditional Italian is excellent.
Featured on Seinfeld, this was the popular breakup spot. This neighborhood trattoria serves good home cooked classic food and drinks.
It was a nice lunch, in a nice setting. Tables are available inside and outside. Great people watching if you can get a table that faces the street.
Cute little restaurant we chose to stop by for dinner before seeing the Whipped Cream ballet. I saw photos from Instagram and decided to try it out. It's a hidden gem and the waiters there are all so nice and sweet. We ate outside although we probably should have dined inside because it was incredibly hot that day. Food was delicious and fresh but I felt like I couldn't finish it all because of how hot the day was. Sometimes the heat just makes your energy and appetite levels low. The waiters were so nice and kept refilling our drinks regularly bc of how dehydrated we were though.
