My fiancé and I stumbled upon this gem and agreed it is now one of our new favorite restaurants. We received 5-star service from the waitstaff, and the food was great! The halibut was perfectly cooked, the scallops were incredible, cheesecake was worth 5 stars all on its own, and the chocolate pudding was decadent and delicious. We will absolutely be coming back soon!

Quality: food quality was fine, nothing superior though. One sushi roll for 23 $ is quite expensive and honestly not worth it. Yes it was good, but not 23 $ mind-blowing good. We also had oysters and other snacks, which were all fine.
Service: attentive, friendly, fast
Atmosphere: nice interior, puts you into another decade. There was some live jazz, which surely supported the atmosphere.

One of the best places in Midtown for Fish & Chips!! And bread basket lol. They have the tastiest bread basket. Very busy during lunch hours so be sure to get a reservation. It's very nice and spacious inside, not at all cramped. the host and wait staff always friendly.

I found this place on a whim as me and my mom were going to see a show and wow did this restaurant exceed all expectations! Everything was fresh, delicious, and so good! Highly recommend the sushi, some of the freshest sushi I have ever had. We had raw clams, oysters Rockefeller, lobster ravioli, crab cake sandwich, and artichokes. Outstanding! We will be coming back. Service and atmosphere was outstanding.

Cute spot with really friendly staff. If you're here for the oyster happy hour be aware it is first come first serve at the bar so good luck. I came in for dining eager than happy hour. The food is reasonable in portion size for the area. The flavors are good. Service is fast. The only weird thing to me is the butter given with the bread was like... Super cold. I'd recommend swinging by.

Ate 2 nights my last stay. First night the seafood fettuccine was amazing. We also had a fish and chips order and the clams fiesta and the shrimp scampy. Everything was superb. Cold night so had coffee nudge after dinner, it was perfect!
THE Second night Waitress was busy chatting with buddies, ignoring all her customers. The seafood fettuccine was over buttered, under spiced and noodles were gooey.
Coffee nudge from night before was so good ordered another. Waitress had no idea what one was, came back Luke warm.
Cannot recommend

It’s one of best places for lobster or any seafood. You are served with a tasty bread basket as well. Service and atmosphere was good. Quite pricey too.

My friend hosts her daughter 1st birthday at Docks Oyster Bar. It was a private party and the restaurant prepare everything wonderfully. Food and service are excellent with brunch menu. The course starts with seasonal fruit salad and assorted breakfast pastries. Main course has 3 choices of Challah French toast, Farmer's Hash and Shrimp five lettuce Caesar salad. Drinks are bottomless coffee, Juice, tea, Bloody mary's and Mimosas.
Everything is perfect, great party and some of my friends who are fans of this restaurant stay after party for oysters. I wish I could stay with them but I couldn't so I will make a plan for oyster next time.

Food was amazing. I had the seafood risotto and my wife had the crab ravioli. Very very good! I also had the clam chowder and that was good as well.

Their happy hour is so worth. It runs from 3-7pm daily. We ordered oysters, calamari, fish tacos, tuna rolls, the beef slider, and it came to 50 after taxes and tips. I really liked the calamari and tuna rolls, and the oysters were decent. I would not order the fish tacos or beef slider again if I go back. The dining environment and service were nice.

Good food, and friendly staff. It’s a realllly loud place, so just be aware of that. Didn’t make it to the bar for happy hour because it was wildly crowded, but the food we ate ata seated table was good. Scallops were good (smaller meal) as was the sea bass special. Key lime pie was nothing to write home about (it seemed to be thawed from frozen).

We had a party to go to on a Saturday night and we decided to come here for happy hour for a drink and $1.50 oysters. We got there at 6:30 to a bustling restaurant. There were a few open seats at the bar and we took a seat and were offered menus and a drink. We ordered 18 oysters and 6 littleneck clams, a spicy tuna roll, and the docks shrimp. The service was fast and the food was fresh. The shrimp were hot, and crispy. My preference would be to have the sauce on the side instead of it being drizzled on the shrimp. It was the perfect pre party spot for appetizers and drinks. We’ll definitely be visiting again!

Swung by for Happy Hour on Sunday afternoon to take advantage of the specials. The space at the bar was actually quite full. By the time we left there were folks queued up to take our seats. You can't underestimate the locals from Tudor City. 😁 Oysters du jour were Barcat, very tasty. Had the calamari, fish tacos and a couple sliders to make it the meal for the night. The bartenders were very attentive and quick.

Here we are, having raw oysters, dock’s rocking shrimp, grilled salmon, spicy tuna roll and way too much great company with our amazing waitress Margaret!!!! Margaret has ROCKED OUR WORLD!😳 Kind of like a 12.5 on the Richter scale and has made our too short of a stay in New York , simply AMAZING!
The attentiveness, the service and the food….through the roof awesome! Margaret for President!!! She simply represents the hallmark of excellence.

Excellent service—the waiter knew how to pace dishes. Delicious cocktails. The oysters rockefeller was delicate, surprisingly delicate, as was all the rest of the dishes, allowing the seafood to shine through. The dessert (pineapple turnover) wasn’t great, but the espresso made up for it.

We had our holiday party here and this restaurant was fantastic. The service was unbelievably attentive. Every staff member was kind and all went above and beyond. Food was very very good as well. One of the best holiday parties I've been to.

Loved it. Went on a Saturday evening. Very busy. Wonderful jazz trio. Had branzino- perfectly cooked - and a delicious flourless chocolate cake. Dropped one star as the sauteed vegetable menu was almost cold.

Close from the UN Headquarters and my office.

I Came here several time and love the soup!
Its crab bisque and chowder are delicious. It has many choices for appetizers as well, including smoked salmon pate.

All the seafood menu are lovely, with grilled sea bass and jumbo shrimps as my fave. The raw, fresh oysters are nice as well. It also has steak and chicken.
Fancy sushi? You can definitely try various rolls they also offer, classics as well as the fusion ones

I love the dessert as well, particularly various cheese cakes, sorbets, ice cream and pies.

Service is fast and friendly. The space is big so I rarely have to wait too long.

The upscale and professional atmosphere definitely makes Docks Oyster Bar the type of Brunch destination that you can go to with your parents, professionals and/or seafood lovers. The service was fantastic and the Brunch Menu was a deal! For $26 you get a brunch entrée served with a mimosa or a Bloody Mary. Then for each additional brunch cocktail you order, you only pay $1. This deal is perfect for when you have people in your brunch party that may want a drink but don’t want to pay an up charge of over $15 when

Impressed and pleasantly surprised. Grade: A-

Our reservation was meant to be a place marker so that we had something for Valentine's day. Docks turned out to be one of pleasant surprises and best seafood meals we've had in some time.

Clean and spacious with dark woods contrasted by white walls and floors, the look and feel of Docks is comfortable and inviting yet dignified. The staff members were friendly, informed, attentive and professional.

We started with a dozen New York Saddlerock oysters, which were large, slightly briny, and satisfying. We each got scallops in our main course - pan seared scallops with rice for one, the fried shellfish platter for another. The scallops in both were cooked perfectly. As for the shellfish platter, the oysters, shrimp, and scallops were each battered and fried differently, presenting something very unexpected and wonderful for a fried platter. The only downside to the food was the cole slaw, which wasn't bad tasting, but it wasn't crisp and fresh.

Despite the fact that there are thousands of restaurants in Manhattan, I'd have no problem coming back to Docks.

Came here for dinner since it's been a common place for locals. Although I'm a vegetarian, I decided to join my friends since I can always find something on the menu to order.
We started with drinks. I ordered a jack and coke , while others ordered grey goose and cranberry. When our drinks arrived they came in water glasses with straws. At first look I thought there was a mistake I thought the server was bringing us a soda pop and not an alcoholic cocktail. There is something wrong with whiskey being served in a tall glass with a drinking straw.
Appetizers consisted of the oyster sampler, baked clams, and Greek kale salad. According to my party the oysters were good , but the clams were small sized and just ok. The kale salad on the other hand was small in portion, bland in taste , and cheap feta. None of the ingredients blended.
Entrees were risotto lobster said to be tasty (except that the risotto to me was nothing more that rice), lobster roll which was described as good. My entree was the only vegetable dish. When it was put in front of me all I saw was chopped up zucchini and baby carrots in a lite, bland, watery sauce. I had to add salt and pieces of bread just to enhance the taste.
The only reason I didn't give a rating of two stars was because my party said the oysters were fresh tasting.

Had Easter brunch, thought the seafood Cobb salad was a good choice. Was disappointed that it had 1 medium shrimp, a teaspoon of crab and one small piece of lobster meat. For a pricey seafood restaurant you would think for $27 you would get a little more. Called to discuss it and was told - lobster has gone way up in price and is hard to get-I have a bridge to sell ......

Nice, noisy and happening. The best clam less tasteful clam chowder I ever had, and trust me I know chowder. The trout was excellent too, but I had to find it under a forest of Arugula that distorted the flavor of the fish slightly.
In general a good place to eat, I recommend it

This is one classy seafood grill! The oyster tasting plate was exceptional with 5 different kinds of oysters. Crab cake moist and tasty with wonderful textures and the service prompt, efficient polite and retiring. Reasonably priced Docks is highly recommended for a seafood treat in midtown.

Adult happy hour dollar menu is delish!!!

Subpar, even for tourists. I always had a consistently good lunch meal at this place. This Saturday night I saw this place from a total different perspective. Our Oyser Sampler had what looked like industrial oil traces and 2 spoiled oysters (smell like sewer). The Barbecued Seafood Grill tasted more like burnt gill than barbecue. The crab cakes tasted like boxed previously frozen paddies. I was expecting more natural textures and class at Docks Seafood Restaurant than a frozen food aisle at Pathmark.
