Le Grainne Cafe - New York City - Photo album

I've loved the exterior structure and long life of the building housing the cafe, built in 1831-1832. Be sure to read the plaque and date marker on the S side of the building. I've admired it for many years but was always hurriedly going somewhere. Finally, I had time to eat here, had a great breakf
This is a lovely little and sweet cafe. A little brasserie with a heart. Very authentically French with wonderful crepes, both savory and sweet, omelets and more. Close to the high line.
Came here around 10:30am on a Saturday and didn’t have to wait to get seated. The vibe of the place was casual Parisian cafe and the decor was very fitting. We tried the crepes with goat cheese and leek and I highly recommend them. We also got the baguette to share, which was also amazing!
When I lived in NYC this was my go to place for brunch on the weekends or after an all nighter shift at the hospital. So, now that I’m no longer live there. Had to pop in for breakfast my first stop back. Chef (J) was on point and the food was amazing per usual. Server could have been a little bit m
An excellent brunch choice. The service was little spotty (maybe they were just too busy) but the servers were nice. We sat outside in the parking space on the street. As much as I love outdoor seating, I’m still not sure I like sitting in the street. Great neighborhood vibe, though. The food is goo
Outdoor dining they (my friends) said, it would be great they said. So we did. And the weather was conducive for outdoor dining on a perfect Sunday autumn afternoon. Unfortunately our Sunday brunch was marred by one issue – the potent aroma of urine that wafted across our table every now and then wa
This sweet spot was the highlight of a Chelsea birthday getaway. The city, and Chelsea in particular, offers many splendors that will steal your heart, but Le Grainne Cafe is that perfect mixture of “quaint” and “exceptional.” The perfect spot for a Sunday breakfast, this cozy café will treat you to
Lovely atmosphere and great staff! Came to get breakfast with my son and had an amazing time:) Food was a generous portion and tasted so good! French toast whoa firee. Jhon our server was great, so welcoming and warm love always a good service❣️Big yes we’ll come back soon! 10/10
This cafe is a creperie in disguise. If you like skinny pancakes served in a European setting with European style, look no further. The place feels like a Parisian cafe to a point, but it won't disappoint those looking for a sweet treat as well as those in search for a more savory affair. From the o
Little hole in the wall in Chelsea but, oh, so good. I had a warm lamb sausage sandwich on the best bread ever. Other options, from bread with butter and jam, to pastries, to other sandwiches, all met with approval. I only wish we lived nearby so that we had an excuse for stopping here again!
Wonderful French cafe on 9th Avenue in Chelsea. Beautiful building and great outdoor seating. I love the saucisson beurre sandwich and the bowl of cafe au lait. Great outdoor seating and service too.
I am currently on a jag with French cafes and Grainne Café helped quench my hunger. It really has a cafe feel and is right in the middle of Chelsea. The food hits the spot. I ordered the homemade sausage and enjoyed every bite. And the bread so delish. It has outside seating which can get hot o
A favorite. I am a regular. Le Grainne never disappoints. A go-to favorite is the spinach and goat cheese quiche, which comes with lovely greens, and I always order a big bowl of cafe au lait. They surprised me this week with some very (bear-y!) special latte art, it’s like they knew I was having a
Has long been my favorite spot for brunch and lunch. Just had a nice calm dinner here on a Saturday night. Amazing food as always (had the mussels). Sat inside. Fun older crowd sitting around me, talking about anything and everything. Good service. Has outdoor space but better for groups <5.
Cute atmosphere and the food was simple and delicious. The crepe was huge and I had enough that I will be able to take it for lunch on Monday. The chocolate croissant was also the perfect way to end the meal. Additionally, the manager/owner allowed an unhoused individual to sit in the outdoor seati
Solid French brunch. Savory crepe (chose a build-your-own) hit the spot. My fiancée’s egg white omelette was too oily / buttery, but the server graciously swapped out her food for some poached eggs and shredded chicken that she enjoyed. 4/5 only because so many other good restaurants raise the bar
Such a beautiful little spot in Chelsea. I grabbed a late breakfast here and I’m not sure if it was the rainy weather, or the food, or the beautiful tricycle with flowers in the basket parked out front, or simply the company I had...but my experience was one to remember. Such a romantic French cafe
