First time to eat cacioepepe and I love this place. The taste of the food we ordered is superb especially I can savor the richness of the cheese in each menu food we ordered. I surely will come back in this restaurant! I love most is their lasagna and burrata.

It was perfect granted the small space. My boyfriend and I got lucky I guess with seats because we were running late on Valentine's day but managed to be seated right away. If you enjoy white wine with your meal I highly recommend the chardonnay, it goes down smoothly. We ordered the meatballs and eggplant parm; now I don't eat meat so I didn't try the meatballs but the parm was amazing. I was dying to go to this restaurant because of the cheese wheel serve with the pecorino romano cheese. I love pecorino Romano and the Tonnarelli cacio e pepe was good except for the black pepper which should've been grated. My boyfriend got the Fettuccine ai funghi porcini con fonduta di parmigiano which was the pasta with mushrooms. We were satisfied and would definitely come back again.

Both my Husband and myself went for dinner. I have been wanting to have dinner at the restaurant for a while , we made reservations very easy and did not have to wait. I had the Cacio e Pepe my husband had Fettuccine ai Funghi. Both were absolutely delicious. We also had the Burata as our antipasto. I enjoyed my Dinner and recommend the Restaurant ***

We chose to sit out on the patio. The area was charming, service was good and the food was excellent. Ken ordered the pasta that they bring out to the table and spin the pasta in the cheese wheel. OMG good!

My daughter recommended Cacio e Pepe, and we weren't disappointed! The cheese wheel was so impressive, and the cacio e pepe was better than I had in Rome. My husband thought the gnocchi was the best he ever had. A suggestion: one beer selection is not enough, so add Peroni or Moretti please! Will definitely go back, hopefully soon.

Went here few days ago for dinner. Sat outside and absolutely loved the vibe as it is made really well. Loved the fresh baked bread they started us out with as well. First we ordered the burratta salad which was super creamy and tasted really fresh. In mains we got the cacio e pepe and the tomato sauce gnocchi. The gnocchi was super soft and just melted in my mouth! The cacio e pepe however I felt was not upto the standards and seeing how the restaurant specialises in that it was disappointing. Normally they are supposed to cook it in front of us In the cheese wheel but here they had already cooked it and just got it on our table for show and cooked it for a quick 3 seconds before serving us. The pasta wasn’t even hot and the flavours weren’t all quite there. Although the rest of the meal was great, the main reason we went was disappointing. Service here is great and the meal was pretty fairly priced.

Perfect summer night for the beautiful garden. The service was welcoming, friendly and efficient. My friend and I shared the signature pasta dish as an appetizer. Fun to watch it being made table side. I had the chicken, delicious! My spouse had the summer salad that looked amazing!

I’m a fan and will be back often!

Some new friends mentioned that one of their relatives by marriage owned Cacio e Pepe, an Italian trattoria on Second Avenue near 12th Street in the East Village. They thought we should try it together. I arrived before they did at this cozy, packed restaurant and got to chat with Chef Salvatore Corea as I arrived a (Be sure you make a reservation!) He offered me a glass of Prosecco while sharing details about his cooking. Salvatore serves authentic Roman cuisine, with some dishes having an unusual twist; each one I sampled is worthy of a return visit.

SIGNATURE DISH!!. Get their signature dish, which is pasta tossed in a wheel of cheese and the fresh pepper cracked over it. SOOOOOOOOOOOO good.

Authentic East Village Italian. We knew were going to get a great meal when we overheard the entire staff speaking to each other in Italian! The mood, tone, atmosphere, and menu of this place takes you directly to modern Italy. The house made pasta has a slightly firmer bite to it than most Americans might be used to, and the bold use of black pepper in many dishes might overwhelm palates dulled by years of Olive Garden pabulum. Make no mistake, this is authentic, modern, creative Roman cuisine which combines simple fresh ingredients of the countryside with big city sophistication.

I loved the mixed salad with its caramelized hazelnuts and crumbled gorgonzola. My pasta course of spaghetti carbonara was oversauced, as another reviewer has noted, but the rich sauce was beautifully balanced with liberal doses of black pepper and flecks of salty pancetta. Our shared main course was the cod in a surprisingly spicy tomato broth over soft polenta, and the cod skin had the most perfect crispiness to it. Portions are just a bit larger than you would find in Italy, making it a great place to share everything with your friends.

I think this will be my 'go to' place in the East Village and I can't wait to return and try the desserts next time, since the dried figs with port over gelato sounded very appealing.

Real Italian, but.... This is a real Italian restaurant, run by Italians (owner and several on the waiting staff). The food is certainly good, but their pasta sauces tend to be "americanized," i.e. too much sauce on which the pasta floats. Still, a good find. If you like cheese and pepper, then try the dish that gives name to the restaurant. But be warned, it ain't light fare...

For pasta served from a cheese wheel, I was expecting a lot more flavor. The pasta is a bit too aldente for my taste, but it's not bad for "homemade"? Pasta, if it is... Tiramisu was okay. it didn't blow my mind at all.

Came here last week and was seated inside. When coming here, the main dish to try is the cacio e pepe that is made in the cheese wheel, so that is exactly what we ordered. It was good! Nothing amazing but I did like it and felt my portion was a good size. Their wine list is also very good. It was a cool place to try, I’m glad I got the experience!

Amazing staff, amazing food only thing I didn't like was that the receipts were handwritten so I couldn't scan them into my bill splitting app so easy but other than that everything was awesome

We rented the back room for party and it was set up beautifully. We got a variety of “family style” appetizers and a choice between 4 entrees. The appetizers were probably my favorite part, but I wouldn’t call the portions shareable. For my main I got the Orecchiette and I feel like it still needed 2 minutes more to be considered Al dente. It looks like a really nice date night spot and others loved their dishes.

Wow wow wow!! This place was nice and cozy with amazing food! Definitely make a reservation as the wait is long. The manager was super friendly and the service was amazing. I ordered the pasta that comes inside a large cheese bowl that they melt cheese on the pasta before serving. What a fun experience. Come hungry you’ll clean your plate I promise!

We had a great meal and good times here with friends. It's a cute place, the servers are very nice and the food is very tasty. Of course we had to order the cacio e pepe, prepared tableside and it was super! We also had the vongole linguini which was good but...the clams were a little large for our taste, and there weren't many. Still tasted good though. We also had a pasta dish with beet 'cream' I cannot remember the name of, but it was really good! Overall a fun experience.

The best meal ever!!! Amazing wine, delicious appetizers, kept eating the salmon entree even though I was stuffed and there is always room for the creamy tiramisu. To top it all the staff was superb!! Can’t wait to go back.

We came here for a birthday celebration to try the Instagram famous cheese wheel pasta. We were seated outside which - even in the rain - was nice and warm. The pasta was ok (4/5), salads were great (5/5) and the service very slow.

First time here, it was great! Of course had to try the Casio e Pepe which was good. Had the octopus as an appetizer; was the best octopus I've had. Melted in my mouth. Definitely will be back to try more on the menu.

The Cacio e pepe hype is definitely worth it! The pasta was delicious and my favorite part if the meal. My salmon was cooked perfectly and the potato crust was interesting (not in a bad way). I prefer warm bread and some butter for the table, otherwise I would definitely come back.

This place is small and cozy. The food is great, the show with cheese wheel was cool. I ordered: tonnarelli cacio e Pepe ( is a must) Lasagna alla bolognese (is so delicious). I celebrated my birthday here then we ordered the plant looking desert. Overall, it’s a decent place to enjoy for an evening with your couple, and they only take American Express or cash.

Amex only - but there's an ATM. We went for the classic Cacio e pepe and it was worth it. A laid back atmosphere with college students abounding the service was well paced. I had a glass of wine, my daughter and I split the arugula salad, and each had the Cacio e pepe. All of it was everything we wanted it to be. Truly, for the price, of $22, we had a bagel, lox breakfast platter in times square for the same price - so worth it. Portion wasn't huge but we didn't leave hungry.

Cacio e Pepe: selling point was the tonarelli (you CANNOT find this pasta outside of Rome even in Italy , let alone New York) the pasta was good, cheese wheel was a nice presentation. However the half sized peppercorns in the pasta was too much. Coarse would be better but huge half size chunks are put in there. Lastly, the price… $25 before tax and tip. It’s just pasta and not worth the price but happy to have tried it.
