The food was delicious and we were the first ones in for lunch. We enjoyed eating nachos, curry chicken and a huge (child's chicken sandwich. Our waitress was Irish and very pleasant. It's really close to the Empire State Building and it's tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the nearby attractions. It is child friendly and a wonderful place to have a meal!
Fantastic food, amazing vibes, great music and drinks on point 🙌🏻 The playwright is home away from home! A warm and cozy atmosphere. There are no perfect restaurant/pubs in NYC! Point proven! However, this establishment offers their best. 🍀🍺🍗🍔

Great atmosphere! Loved the food. We had Shepherd’s pie, chicken pot pie, and nachos for an appetizer. Everything was delicious. The house beer was also excellent.

Scoffed the full Irish breakfast with black and white puddings, poached eggs, *proper* bacon and beans + HP sauce! Set up for the day! Enjoyed the craic with our charming Irish server too! Deserves more than five stars �

fun (unofficial Mets 7 Line Army) bar in NYC right by Herald Square, was there 2 years ago for 2016 NL Wild Card game, unfortunately the Mets didnt win. Was there for a special (7 Line Army podcast) tonight & had a nice chat tonight with 2 great bartenders Signe & Brianna! definitely will come back again soon & have a meal!
Local hangout place. Typical pub with many sports TV. We came here just because it’s centrally located for meeting people after work. Happy hour also helps for regular. Don’t expect too much for cocktails. Beer or wine is ok. Food is decent and space is large enough to accommodate big group.
After the craziness of midtown during the holidays, we stopped by the Playwright for food and drinks. What an amazing find. The decorations were beautiful and the service was top notch. We ordered a bunch of appetizers, Playwright burger, and Fish n Chips. All dishes were great! We will definitely be stopping by this pub again soon.

We came here around the Christmas season! We had the absolute best time! The food was amazing the drinks were amazing and the service was amazing. Would highly recommend! Muzam was our server and he was so fun. He took such good care of us. A must see when in New York!! Ask for Muzam!!!
What a gem! Hard to come by a spot in mid town that checks all the boxes but the playwright has a cozy vibe, lovely staff and awesome food. Fish and chips were amazing, as was the house burger. Our table ordered a round of finger foods, wings, chicken strips and mozzarella sticks with our drinks and everything that came out if the kitchen was great. We love this place.
This is a solid local bar with a great mixed crowd, good pub grub and a good selection of beer. Also has a full bar and friendly bartenders. Only the hot wings are truly hot so make sure not to be shy if that's what you're looking for. And the mild are truly safely mild.
This bar is amazing, we was in here most nights of our stay as it was next to our hotel. It’s a nice chill bar, not too busy and loud so great for the family to sit and talk around a few drinks. The service is amazing, massive shoutout to Mazum he’s such a great guy and sat with us to talk for ages on some nights. Lots of Real Madrid memorabilia so no doubt the atmosphere is electric during the matches! Heavily recommended to anybody visiting the Herald Square area.

Visited here a few times during our stay and we always had great food, a super choice of cold beers and even better staff and met a few of the regulars who enjoy a good chat and definitely a good laugh! 😂
Every game or sport is on the multiple screens too but not blaring and was followed by some great music.

We were seated outside, our waiter came within a few minutes. Took our drink order, which came out pretty quick. He than took our food order. Again came out quickly but someone else brought us our food. We were going to order more drinks but not 1 person came back to check up on us. We were here for 45 minutes, ended up going inside to ask for our check. We would not have even tipped our waiter 10% due to never seeing him again, but this place automatically takes out 18% Very discouraged about this!!! I would recommend this place for the food and atmosphere. Just be cautious about the wait staff. For the prices they should at least come back to make sure all is ok!!!!
Mazum was the best bartender. He made us feel at home and took the best care of us. I would recommend this location for anyone stopping in for a quick drink, or a great meal. If you want to watch any game, also a great location!
One of my favorite pubs in Manhattan. The Playright is a perfect spot to grab a pint of Guinness with your friends to catch up. It’s an amazing place to watch sports with all the TVs. There’s an upstairs too so plenty of space. It’s a Real Madrid bar so heads up to all the Barcelona fans out there. The food is great too. I love the wings, the Philly cheesesteak egg rolls, and the sweet potato fries.
What you want from an Irish bar, that welcoming atmosphere, great beer and first time eating at one but the food was also above expectations!

Great food! Great servers! Great atmosphere!! Whenever you’re in NYC make sure you stop by. They’ll always have the NFL games on for you! And the appetizer sampler is tremendous and delicious!!
I always have a great time whenever I come here for a quick drink. There is a really great selection on cocktails and amazing quality of service, everyone is like family here. One of my favorite drinks to order is the old fashioned and the vodka martini these always come out great and never disappoint. I would highly recommend coming here if you are in the area.
The staff are so nice! I finished a prosthetic appointment early and walked down the street for a quick bite. They were affordable, fully accessible and the staff is very friendly. Definitely come for a beer, a burger and a chat w/ their nice Irish waiter John. There’s plenty of accessible outdoor seating, most of which is wheelchair accessible as well. I didn’t go deep into the place and didn’t use the restroom but I’ll definitely do that next time and let you know how it is.
Me and my boyfriend have been visiting here every night of our new york trip as its right next to our hotel. Its a really nice bar, great drinks and good vibe. Great for watching sports and even just a quiet drink on an evenin after exploring the city. Highly recommend
I’ve been coming here for a year and mazum always treats my friends and I like family. Always pays attention to us and always in a good mood. Plus the drinks are good, not too strong and not watered down. nice place to pregame or end a night out.
