Food was great! Exactly what a diner should be!!! Burger was large, minimally greasy, and well seasoned. Price was great too!
Diners - at least diners the way I think of diners, standalone, have their own parking lots, open 24 hours, filled with drunk young people on Friday & Saturday nights coming back from the clubs, filled with older people, families and yuppie couples in the
NYC diner - check! Friendly, quick and matter-of-fact service - perfect! Breakfast comfort food just like home. Vibrant atmosphere.
I had eggs over-easy with toast, home fries, beef sausage, and coffee. The eggs had a perfect yolk, just runny enough - perfect to have on toast. Home fries were good, and clearly real home fries! Beef sausage done just right. The coffee is drip, and very good. Medium body, clean finish perfect for breakfast.
It gets busy, so there may be a wait - it will be worth it. Outside seating as well.

NYC never disappoints… especially for breakfast! I just Googled diners near me and discovered Pearl Diner a few blocks from my hotel. The food was excellent! The presentation isn’t anything to write home about, but who cares! Lol. The food was delicious and our server was sweet. And the prices were reasonable. Enough for me!
Lovely staff and fast service. Everything you’d expect out of a cute diner. Affordable classic breakfast options. No fancy frills. Went here around 12:30pm on a Sunday.
Exceptional value and good food. Service was good, but a smile now and again works wonders on customers. Give it a try 😉
Classic New York diner. Food was great and you really can’t beat the ambiance. BLT is good, and the eggs and home fries were great. NYC stale! Get here!
Thought it was classic diner food with nothing that special beyond the decor - overall reliable breakfast food with quick service!
An institution! Classic American grub that’s easy on the pocket book. A NYC experience with staff who have been around the block serving up thick NYC accents and food to give you that New York feeling. Don’t expect anything fancy but it’s comforting, tasty and excellent value!
Went for a Diner experience and was certainly worth it. I can highly recommend eating there. Tasty food, casual service, nice ambiance. We had burgers and cheesecake, and were not disappointed.
On the 2nd occasion we went for breakfast here as well. Again no disappointment. For any meal I can recommend going here.
Pearl Diner is straight out of a movie on what you would think a NY diner would be. I absolutely adored it. I got the corned beef hash w eggs over easy (my diner fav) and they totally nailed it. We had a chocolate egg cream for the first time, which was different but delicious. They had cheesy holiday decor up, which I love. Quick service with a little bit of attitude for the authentic experience, which I respect. It was one of our last stops before heading back home and I felt like it completed our NYC tour.
On a recent stay in the South Street/Wall Street area, we had breakfast and lunch here. It is a real gem. We prefer small local eateries with character. The menu and food are excellent, as is the service. If you want something different from the new, glassy, shiney nearby places to eat, we highly recommend Pearl Street Diner.
This is a classic old diner - one of the last of its kind left in Manhattan. We enjoy their breakfasts and it is at its best with old fashioned comfort foods. They survived the 9/11 years, the COVID years, and, now the “up scaling” of local places to the “organic, cold-pressed dandelion root juice for $18” direction that is all around them.
Old little diner with excellent service, great diner food at reasonable prices. Didn’t have Diet Coke on tap so had to get it from a can. It doesn’t look like much when you pass, but they do an excellent job. No wonder they’ve been in business forever.
Good breakfast for under $16.00. Tucked on the corner on pearl Street is this classic NY Diner. The food was excellent a d the waitresses classic NY love. Coffee was hot and food was great. No prepackaged junk here. A friend once told me you can always judge a place on how much prepackaged you you are given at a restaurant. If you strat with packaged crea.er, sugar, butter you are haded to passable not so good here. Fake sugar is ok I would have give. I was going to give this place a 4 star becuse thay opend 10 min late. but the food and serve as well as the prepackaged scale made the wait worthwhile. Follow me for the next review.
First experience of an original American diner. Could do with a wee upgrade, but enjoyed it so much went back again. The breakfasts were very good, we didn't need a lunch after eating here. Staff were really good.
If you're in the Downtown Manhattan area this is a great little Diner. The staff is super friendly and everything you would expect to be on the menu is there. The place is tiny but it just adds to the overall ambiance of the place. Who doesn't love breakfast all day!
Great little spot but it desperately needed a touch up and more staff. Went there during a weekend night, had only one waiter who was also cashier, busboy and prep for delivery. We didn't have to wait that long but considering it only had about 2 other groups. Can't imagine if more people arrived. Food was great, hot and steamy. Parmesan chicken melted, super soft and sauce was delicious.
