Very nice restaurant. Cozy place, not too crowded. Friendly staff. The steaks are great and the homemade sauces are a perfect match. The dessert is also phenomenal!
Independently owned Argentine steak house.
Do you ever go back to a place you have not been in years? Is it as good as you remember? Or is it a disappointment?
Way back when in the time before children we often went to this Argentine steak house on 9th Avenue. 9th Avenue was still somewhat sketchy in those days. My wife saw an Argentine chef on Food Network and decided to try it out. It quickly became one of our favorites.
We last visited in 2003. After that we moved cities a few times and had two children. We happened to be in New York City for my older son’s 15th birthday. He loves steak and so we decided to bring him here.
It was just as good as we remembered. The steak is cooked perfectly. The Chimichuri sauce is so so tasty and they now have a spicy version. The onions are fire perfectly and the French fries extremely good. So I am glad I came back after all these years.
Thin slice of beef steak with chimichurri was great. Coffee as well. Service very pleasant. Nice decor. But wasn't impressed with the starter and sides - mushrooms were bland, would prefer potato wedges or anything more fancy that quite plain fries, only the more spicy chimichurri made it somewhat exciting. Clam soup was decent. Expected more from a fancy place like this.
We were so lucky to ind this little gem when looking for a restaurant to eat at. We couldn't decide on what type of food to eat, so looking at the menu it had a little bit of everything that we could choose from. I decided to go for the steak and was not dissappointed.
Also, the waitstaff completely made our evening with small talk and we even ended up sitting at the bar when we were finished for a visit with the bartender and another patron.
Their dessert is also delicious, so make sure that you save room!
Cute small restaurant. Good food! We had the ribeye, Chilean sea bass, and empanadas
Excellent restaurant highlighting Argentine cuisine. Very small and cozy restaurant, only around 10 or 15 tables with a few seats at the bar. Reservations recommended! Also, be aware that each guest needs to order 2 appetizers or one entree. This is NOT a restaurant for grabbing a quick drink. They have an extensive wine list, highlighting Malbec wines. Try the Pisco Sour, and you won't be disappointed, as well as the empanadas. Meat portions are large, but not too much for one person.
Loved the ambiance and the food and drinks were delish!!! Must try! Chimmichuri sauce (green) very garlicy and has a kick!
This place was amazing. The food was delicious and the service was remarkable.
Had a lovely meal at this restaurant earlier tonight and I have to say it was a great experience. The food was excellent and the service was lovely. The flavors of the food popped but were not over done, from appetizer to dessert. And simply indicating on the reservation that this was a birthday meal for my boyfriend, they handled the end of the meal with just the right level of engagement. Thanks for a nice end to our evening! Will definitely be back.
I tried Argentina Cuisine first time. This is great!
