I didn’t know this bakery was vegan and gluten free. This was a pleasant surprise. This was one of the best cupcakes AND doughnuts I ever had. It was so flavorful and it wasn’t dense. I highly recommend this place. 100/10

One of my favorite bakeries in the city. Every year my family gets me my birthday cake from Erin McKenna’s and I absolutely love it. I’m a chocolate girl and their brownie cakes are to die for! Occasionally when I’m in the area. I would stop by a grab a cupcake or two because why not! I look forward to eating my birthday cakes every year and can’t wait for this one! Many options and variations of desserts to choose from, if you’re in the area. You have to stop by!

Mission: Put together a selection of vegan goodies for my son's 40th birthday. The process: Not being in Manhattan, in fact, being in NC, I had to Google vegan bakeries and there's quite a few. After viewing a dozen websites, I called a half dozen to inquire about building a spectacular selection for a surprise gift. I read over a hundred reviews to determine options and finally came up with what I felt was a perfect variety. Ordering was . . . . a piece of cake, so to speak. We ran through the menu items, decided on quantities and talked about the delivery. I requested pictures before they delivered and they complied and are attached to this review. Courteous, professional, timely and customer focused, and, by the way, the cakes, brownies and cookies were, as I heard, quite delicious. I'm only sorry I didn't get to try anything. 15/10 recommended, you should try it.

I’m a sugar fiend. Really liked the samoa donut I got (I think that’s what it was). My friend got some mint chocolate cookie that looked like a huge thin mint. Would’ve only been better if the donut was yeast (I’m pretty sure it was cake) but I’ll take any donut that’s vegan.

Idk what kind of sorcery this bakery applies but the gluten free/ vegan donuts are beyond the best I’ve ever had. I have been disappointed by others and have found other “good” ones but this raises the bar to what is possible for GF/Vegan. Thank you so much Erin, you’re a wizard and make GF people like me very happy. *im not celiac, just gluten and dairy free.

My fiancé and I were walking around the area and we unexpectedly stumbled upon this bakery. Initially we were just going to get him a donut but then we realized they were gluten free and allergy friendly so we got the iced lemon blueberry loaf and biscuits as well. The Samoa donut was amazing, soft and moist! The loaf was really good as well. When you go to most gluten free bakeries they over compensate for the lack of gluten with sugar and I usually can’t eat much of it but here they use a good balance of sweeteners, as well as natural ones. I can’t wait to try more items in the future!! The employees were very nice and helpful.

1.plain "bagel" is not a bagel. it doesn't taste good, and is dense and dry. Should be called a scone and have a different shape because so dense and not fluffy at all 2.lemon donut: very good 3.coconut donut: nice texture of the frosting, quite sweet, couldn't eat more than 1/3 4.pumpkin spice loaf (fall): dense (not fluffy) but soft and great flavors. only can eat 1/3 or 1/2 in one sitting. good overall and satisfies your sweet tooth. Could omit frosting, doesn't add much apart from make it sweeter 5.chocolate/brownie bite: dense, very rich, sweet, small and satisfying (almost a bit small), one more bite would be ideal 6.mocha donut: donut base tastes like lemon. frosting taste like coffee. expected the frosting to be crunchy because of the "crumble"-like texture but it tastes like frosting and is smoother than one may think. Very pretty 7.sprinkle (pink) vanilla donut: very good donut, although quite sweet and, once again, dense (not fluffy or light). almost a hint of lemon, perhaps from cross contamination. Took off the frosting 8.chocolate crumb cake : decadent, sweet and rich. syrup glaze on top (chocolate). sort of syrup that is unnecessary. The cake tastes a bit off, probably because I'm used to regular chocolate cake with wheat flour? looks fluffier than it tastes. the top of the cake is sweeter but more moist than the bottom (almost as if cooked in 2 times). too sugary. 9.jalapeño cheddar biscuit: disgusting. dry, tastes off. doesn't preserve well. gross. Staff is friendly, baked goods are ideal for a tea party, dessert for yourself or a gift

This place truly makes gluten free and vegan dreams come true. I have been to the location in Orlando, but this one has so much more variety of goodies. I got one of their day old half off deal (a container of two slices of banana bread and a slice of lemon blueberry bread) and it was just as good as fresh! The staff was also extremely friendly and helpful. Thank you for making my visit to NYC so special!

I love this tiny & cute 100% gluten free bakery. The doughnuts are unbelievably good– most things they make are unbelievably good but there are some things that I think fall into the category of just "good." They are expensive but not too crazy when compared to other GF/vegan/allergy friendly products in NYC. Overall can't recommend more if you have allergies– or to anyone. I think people who can eat anything would be shocked at how delicious these baked goods are!

Erin Mckenna's Bakery in NYC made all of the desserts for our wedding and I could not recommend them enough! I have severe food allergies and it was important to have all the food be something all of our guests could enjoy. We ordered a small wedding cake, cupcakes, and selection of donuts and they were all delicious. They were super easy to work with and made the whole process stress free! All of our guests raved about the desserts and couldn't get enough of them!! Plus I was able to eat everything and have full confidence that they would be safe for me to eat. I will be ordering many times in the future from here!

Top me off With a cupcake top that is, only found at @erinmckennasbakery ! Right across the street from me is this awesome bakery. They’re gluten free and vegan and use natural sweetness like agave. The cupcake top is a vanilla cupcake with chocolate frosting sweetened with that agave. And that full cupcake is a chocolate brownie cupcake with mocha frosting. You’d never guess that they are gluten free or vegan

Love this bakery! Ordered a birthday cake with some design inspiration from Pinterest, and they created this absolute work of art. The cake itself (carrot cake with cream cheese frosting) was also fantastic - the crowd (mostly non-vegans) loved it.

I have to say, THANK YOU!!!! The staff here are such a pleasure to work with, and I'm really glad we chose them for our wedding cake! We did a tasting box, which was a ton of sugary fun, but I also had THE BEST Samoa flavored donut that even my gluten loving husband gobbled it up!! We chose a carrot cake with cream cheese frosting... while the texture is small bit different, for a vegan frosting, it was phenomenal!! I'm so glad we bought a bigger cake than I originally intended, because our guests wound up choosing our cake instead of regular desserts!! We had only a small bit left over. Everyone loved it!! It was STUNNINGLY beautiful! Thank you again for making our day extra special!! Oh!! When I picked up the cake, I picked up some extra goodies... the VeggieBomb!!!! WOOOOOOW!!! I have to come back for a few more because I wound up having to share... begrudgingly! It was seriously delicious!

The most amazing bakery!! I have had allergies to dairy, eggs and nuts my whole life and have never really been able to enjoy many desserts. Until, I visited Erin Mckenna's Bakery when I visited NYC 10 years ago and I excitingly returned in July 2023. Everything is delicious (I tried almost one of everything...) I especially recommend the cookie sandwiches. Cannot wait to return, thank you Erin and team <3

I got the cake here for my son’s first birthday and it exceeded all the expectations! The cake was vegan , cane sugar free , gluten free. And simply the most delicious cake i have ever tried and trust me , I’ve tried a lot. The design was very accurately done based on the pic I showed them . My son enjoyed every bit of it!

Absolutely loved this bakery! I've been waiting years to visit here on pilgrimage from the UK, and got to see the newly refurbished shop interior on the day it reopened in January 2020. Definitely not disappointed - there was a wide range of gluten-free and vegan cakes, cookies and doughnuts available. All of them were great! The staff were very friendly and welcoming, and served with the biggest of smiles. Kinda wish I lived across the pond so that I could visit more often, but at least I know now that I'm baking correctly from the recipe books! Looking forward to visiting again someday soon.

Pretty sure I've never had anything gluten-free that tasted this good. The donuts were firm and moist (not crumbly and wooden), the little choco muffins actually tasted like chocolate and that jalapeno scone was bigger than my head. Got a mixed box of goodies and everything was giving.
