This is without a doubt the best Chinese I’ve ever had. The portions were big and the price is very reasonable. If you are a tourist looking for the best place in New York that does great Chinese food - this is the place!
The food was excellent but as they don't take reservations, trying to get a table for a party of 6 was chaos, even though we got there at 5pm and there was already a line especially because there are only 2 large, round tables. I would recommend coming here with a group of 4 or fewer people. Also beware that this is a CASH ONLY restaurant! It's not a place to eat and chat and linger, or to catch up with old friends (which is what we were trying to do), but definitely worth it if you just want delicious food. We shared our big table with a diner eating by himself, so he was smart to realize what kind of place this is! Might be worth it to get takeout as well, skip the line and eat at home. That's not to say the service wasn't great. Even with everyone bustling around, we didn't get the sense that the staff was trying to kick people out or passive aggressively urge people to eat faster. Also keep in mind that the bathrooms are not the cleanliest, so try not to have to go while dining here!
This restaurant is very special. Have been coming here for at least 20 years. There is nothing on the menu that can go wrong. Even If you close your eyes and pick a random dish. It will be very tasty. The best roast duck, roast pork in chinatown. Very very busy spot. Beef chow fun, lo mein, fried rice is always ordered.
This place was also one of anthony Bourdains favorite places to eat🥹
Love seeing repeat customers and tourists coming in from word of mouth. Everyone is always happily enjoying their food and looking at other tables asking people what dish they ordered lol. The owner and staff are always so sweet and kind and funny. Love them.
Cash only. Brisket beef wonton noodles is a must. Just know small bowls (5 wonton). Broth is very good. Beef is lean and not too fatty and very tender. Also had the beef chow fun. That was very good as well. Only was with my daughter so didn't get to add a third dish (wanted the roast duck). We sat next to the butcher and during our time there he went thru 6 to 8 ducks so you know it's good. Constant line of customers ordering the duck to take home.
We arrived 1hour before they closed but still made it. As soon as you get seated you will get tea 🫖. They took the order and our food arrived in less than 15min we got noodle soup 🍜 with duck, rice with duck and dumplings. We couldn’t finished it the portions are very generous. I really enjoyed it the only think is like I feel my duck was a little bit raw but still very tasty
I was able to catch a table on Saturday afternoon. Roast pork on rice was phenomenal. Best roast pork I’ve ever had. Noodles were equally as great. For two people our meal was $40. Worth every penny and more.
When you living in NY and don’t know what you gonna eat.Go to this place 😁 they hv a good & best food for you. I always take bbq roasted pork, crispy roasted pig, fried rice, beef porridge ,stir fried noodles . They always busy sometimes have a long line so please eat fast go fast.
Tables are cramped and tiny here but you know it’s as authentic as it gets since there’s loads of Asian customers patronizing the restaurant. Roast cuts are awesome, especially the roast pork or even the duck fried rice. Soft shell crabs are filling and delicious.
One of my favorite places as a New Yorker. The food is so delicious, and the service is super fast. Mind you, this is a classic Chinatown restaurant - the servers are not super warm and fuzzy, but that's the culture there, so you gotta respect that. It's also fun eating at the big communal tables. My friend and I always get the salt-baked shrimp, beef chow fun, and the roast pork. They have this ginger-y green sauce that is to die for. My friend and I always ask for copious amounts. I dream of this sauce.
The food was good, especially seaweed soup. Portion of each dish was big enough to share. The negative side was dirtiness ( dirty flour and restroom).
Soft shell crab in season!!!
Roast duck noodle soup very reliable...

Yes... confirms good food. Excellent prices. Thank you for maintaining good value and taste!
Always reliable roast duck noodle soup.
Can't go wrong. 10 bucks cash including tip.
This restaurant has been popular among locals and tourists alike for decades for good Cantonese comfort food. No frills decor with few tables, often times it’s packed but service is very quick for seated or orders to go. Good sized food portion and tasty without MSG aftertaste at very reasonable prices. Menu price is already tax inclusive!
There may be no better place for late night food than Great NY Noodletown. It used to open till 2am before the pandemic, but now you can still head over for some quick and cheap late night eats until 11pm. Very authentic Cantonese food with an extensive menu, approved by my relatives who have been working in Chinatown for few decades.
* Roast Pork 蜜汁叉燒
The char siu had the right amount of meat and fat. The honey soy sauce was quite salty, so I’d recommend soaking it into the noodle soup or enjoying it with a big scoop of rice. Not the best char siu I’ve had in NYC, but still delectable to satisfy my hankering.
* Wonton Rice Noodle Soup (Shrimp) 鮮蝦雲吞河粉
It came with 6 large wontons, with thin skin and fresh shrimp fillings! I am allergic to Cantonese alkaline noodle so I substituted with rice noodle. It was knife-cut, chewier and thicker than what I usually have. A less oily option to fill your growling stomach late at night.
* Seafood with Rice Noodle & Vegetables 菜遠海鮮炒河粉
This stir-fried rice noodle was a spot-on with enough “wok hei” (smoky flavor). Generous seafood, veggies and meat toppings. The portion was so big that it could feed two hungry people.
***Cash only!
Been here many times when I was younger. It was the stable spot and the go to when you’re drunk at 1ish am in the morning. I came with my father and I noticed renovation was done. The place looks newer but size wise still the same. My dad got the black egg congee and I got the shrimp wonton soup. I didn’t want noodles although it’s my favorite for diet reasons. The soup temperature was great. If you’re reading this, you should know I love my broth temperature super super hot. Like burn my tongue hot. Anyways, my father enjoyed his congee. It was tasty and seasoned well. we got a dish of roast pork and chicken. That was delicious. Now… the wonton were not bad. The broth on the other hand ? booooo! I have better broth before and the broth from them drastically. Man it was so disappointing. Oh my waiter was definitely not in the mood to work. I thank him, and all the good vibes. Yet he didn’t say anything to me. Will I go back for the broth? Absolutely not. For the meats, def will.
Go-to roast duck place. It’s very affordable and tasty. We usually get takeout and order at the counter, but theres tables inside for dine in. Get anything over rice and ask for extra sauce. So good!
Cash only
Classic wonton noodles at a great well known resturant that even opens until 2am. I've been coming here since college, and it's always a go-to spot for some delicious food that fills the cold void. Although the wonton noodles were pretty bland.
Super cheap but tasty food! The service is super quick too. I’ve been coming here since I was a child and it never disappoints. I had a birthday dinner here with friends and family last week. They were incredibly sweet and accommodating! Can’t wait to come back soon :)
It was a crowded little place and when I went I was simply hungry with zero expectations. Well it was the best Chinese food I had. The chicken was tender and the spices on point. The tea was hot and refreshing. The chicken fried rice was amazing. The general Chao chicken was soft, crispy, tender and really delicious. The portion are big, they can be shared. I would definitely recommend it.
Beef ball with egg noodles soup is so amazing that it hurts to even try to describe it. This place is a NYC Chinatown treasure. This soup is soo good that it makes NYC fancy Michelin restaurants taste bad. I feel go amazing after eating this soup. I ran out of things to say just how good the soup is. Can’t wait to experience their menu more
