I went to NYC for the third time ever recently & actually with enough time to explore the city a good deal, so I decided to give my trip a "pies & parks" theme, cus why not? I walked an average of 17 miles a day from park to park and stopped at pie joints all along the way...Petees was my favorite. Their lemon chess poppy seed pie was just the right balance of zesty acid and creamy custard...and the poppy seeds atop the pie were a delight, a lovely bit of textural contrast. Next up was the key lime meringue pie and the coconut custard pie, eaten side by side...and may I say that the pairing was a good choice on my part---the bright, lighter notes of the key lime was the perfect balance to the more subtle, delicately rich flavors of the coconut and tender custard. Last was the sour cherry pie--cherry pies are one of my favorites, but I hate it when the full sour flavor doesn't come through or if you just feel like you're eating a glommy mess...have no fear. Petees' sour cherry pie mastered the tenuous balance of sour & sweet, the fraught art of filling that held together without having the texture of glue. And, for those crust lovers, think flake + shortbread + awesomeness = delight. Oh, and their coffee is good, too.

Fantastic! Great crust! I had the dark bottomed, Almond Chess and it was wonderful. I had a bite or two of the Maine Blueberry, it was very good, too. So good, we stopped on our way to the airport and brought back a whole Sour Cherry pie.
Absolutely one of the best pies I've ever had! That cherry pie...oh my! Glad it isn't too close to where I live! I've had cherry, pecan, a coconut pie, empanada pie...all were amazing! And Petra is so committed to making it the best! Oh yeah...pecan Sandies and oatmeal raisin. And nothing is over the top sweet...just lots of flavor. Worth the trip from whatever good you are in.
My BFF, son and I visited the Myrtle Ave. location yesterday and tried the Lemon Chess pie. OMG OMG, it was devine! The staff was very friendly and informative. I didnt catch their names but both were awesome. I will be headed to your Delancey locale pretty soon!
Amazing pies! Amazing! This is a new shop with great reviews already. The owner is super friendly, great customer service. Did I mention how great the pies are? We had a pecan pie and chocolate cream pie. The cookies are good too. I would come into the city just for this place!
I have met everyone in the shop. There is no better Pie Place in NYC, period. You will never, ever find real, homemade pies like this, unless you know someone that makes them at home.:) I've been a fan for years. Worth the trip or delivery.

I just had the pork pie. WOW Absolutely delicious. Ground pork, apples and cabbage. Sweet and not at all greasy. The crust was super flakey and buttery. Good thing I live in NJ because any closer and I wouldn't fit thru the door. Best of luck to you!
WOW! Banana cream pie was so tasty. Served chilled with a nice, rich crust. Glad I got an individual almond one to go for the next morning's coffee. Very nice gentleman that worked there, too. With all the yummy flavors, it's hard to decide!

Had the Vegan Gluten Free Blueberry Crumb pie for today at a Bar B Que . It was OUTSTANDING! I would give it 10 stars and I am not even vegan or gluten free!!!
Amazing pies and great customer service - I was stuck between their pecan pie and classic apple pie, and the woman across the counter talked me through what were in both and which one was 'more quintessential American' since I was visiting from Sydney and wanted to be as 'American' as possible! Haha, for the record, I went for the apple pie and no regrets at all, it tasted amazing!
My favourite pie shop in New York. Great aroma and aesthetic.
Having had Petee's pies several times while visiting NYC, we were feeling a pie deficit. My wife had 4 mini pies shipped -- what a wonderful experience. They came through intact and were a joy to consume. It doesn't matter which flavors you get -- the flavors are always well balanced.
We love their pies with all our hearts. The bonus is that they're such lovely people.
This cute little shop has awesome service and delicious pies!!! So glad I made it in there while I was in town!
Best pie ever... and I've had a lot of pie.
She's an inspiration!!!!! Look for book 4. BIG CITY MAGIC. Uncover the Secret of the Big Apple. Coming out in the Fall of 2018. Yumm.... Jeanne Bender-Author LIndie Lou Adventure Series.
Delicious pies and lovely staff! I had the whiskey walnut and it was super tasty! The apple was good too. Plenty of options. The crust is light and a slice doesn't feel too heavy.
The apple and chocolate pies are the best sellers. We got both. Look at the menu before you go so you don’t get held up on choices. No lines when we went and outdoor seating.
The apple pie is the champion, you can taste the fresh ingredients. The chocolate was like a rich chocolate brownie in a pie crust.
Delicious pies, bad customer service. (wrong pie!)
Petee’s pies are delicious- not many people would disagree with that. The apple pie is a classic and HEAVENLY! However, I bought a pie only to come home and find out they have me the wrong pie. I was stuck with a $35 pear pie that serves 8, except that’s not what I wanted.
But, I encourage you to get some to go and have it with some vanilla ice cream at home. I’ll be back, but I’ll stick to slices rather than risk getting stuck with a lot of the wrong thing again.
Petee's Pie Company is a must-visit spot for anyone looking for delicious, homemade pies. I've tried the banana cream, the Hudson Valley apple crumb, and the brown butter honey pecan pies. I LOVE cream pies so the banana cream pie is my favorite of the three. The Hudson Valley apple crumb has a lovely, buttery crumb on top that's flakey and sweet. The pecan pie is also delicious but a bit on the sweet end. All of these pair so well with coffee that it can be enjoyed for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and an afternoon snack. Their crust is extremely buttery and flakey and is perfectly sweet and savory at the same time with a hint of nuttiness. They're not exaggerating when they say they're "the best pie in NYC."
Oh. My. GOD. The perfect buttery flaky crust. Fresh, slow-cooked fruits. Heaven. Perfection. I’ve tried the tart cherry, blueberry, pumpkin and lemon meringue. All were fantastic. Like, “I almost wish I didn’t know this place existed” fantastic.
3/22/22: The two stand out things I've had here are the black currant streusel (very interesting sour taste in the fruit combined with a sweet crumb) and the classic NY cheesecake (great cheese texture with perfect crust), both 4.5 stars. Also had the key lime meringue, brown butter honey pecan, salty chocolate chess, and the Hudson Valley apple crumb which are pretty good but not stand out. Removing one star because prices are too high.
Delicious fresh pies. I had the seasonal blueberry crumb pie and it was amazing!
The chicken pot pie was absolutely delicious. The pie crust is flakey and buttery and the filling was flavorful and juicy.
The banana cream pie was also really good but the standout was definitely the chicken pot pie!
I had slices of: cherry crumb, salty chocolate chess, and banana cream. All three blew me away! I couldn't pinpoint what about them I loved so much (crusts, fillings, etc), but they're all exceptional, next-level-delicious pies.
Thus far I've only tried the chocolate cream and the key lime but both were faultless. Every element, crust, filling and topping, was executed to absolute perfection. If you're on the hunt for a good slice of pie I say look no further. Can't wait to try more of the menu!
