Hands down the most underrated steakhouse in NYC. Great food, great service and a lot of variety at a better price than others. They used to be on 45th st. which was very cozy, but not very spacious. This place is a lot bigger. I love the sirloin, you would think they use butter on it, it's so juicy. But two people from the kitchen told me they don't. Love the shrimp scampi and chicken parm. Wish they had a hamburger on the menu at night. And since I dine at the bar a lot, maybe a separate bar menu too. Other than that, this place rocks!

We will most certainly be back the next time we're in NYC. First and foremost the steak was amazing, quite honestly the best we've ever had and it was cooked to perfection. Our whole meal was perfect, from the appetizer to dessert. Secondly, the staff was amazing! They were warm, friendly, and extremely attentive. They anticipated our needs and we never had to request a single thing. We can't wait to come back!
46th Steakhouse. Not sure if it's the best in NYC but it's the best steak I've had in the USA and I've travelled from Maine to Maryland, New Orleans to LA and across the Midwest.
Service was great, friendly, warm and knowledgeable. Great find.
Best steaks in NYC! Great atmosphere! Been going to Frankie and Johnnie's for 50 years and it's always been excellent. This is the best location.
The staff was extremely friendly and customer service oriented. The meal was superb and much better than I remember from several years ago. Love the new location but so glad the atmosphere was the same.
Fantastic food and service and the new location looks stuning.Would come back here in a heart beat!Best steak joint in New York City!
We had a private room for out 10 party which made it intimate and wonderful celebration. Great food wonderful service.
Awesome service, awesome food in the heart of the Theatre District!
If you are looking for a classic NYC steak experience this is perfect. No new inventions but solid good salad, oysters, potatoes and meat. The portions are large so we shared several items. The meat could have been a bit more tender and I didn’t like that the server sliced the meat on a deep dish (messy) instead of a proper cutting board. He made a bit of a mess with it. This was not his fault because he said they don’t allow him to use a cutting board. Cutting on a deep dish is not easy. Severs and staff were all super nice.
Ordered 8oz filet and a baked potato. Filet was charred on the outside a bit more than I care for, but medium rare inside as I ordered. Overall nice meal, furniture in the booths need to be repaired or replaced. Wife had chicken parmesan, which was excellent. Just needed more sauce on the pasta.
The service was attentive. Unfortunately we visited very early as we were taking in an early show and they had just opener for dinner. I was hoping for a well seasoned porterhouse, which we didn't get. The sides felt rushed. Atmosphere was as expected which was great. We would like to try again a little later at night.
PEAK PERFORMANCE. I've been coming here for years and this place is running like clockwork at the moment.
My meal - a dish that is difficult to prepare properly - was *perfectly* cooked, the service was excellent (as usual), the music selection was ideal... even the lighting levels feel improved.
I suspect that the new-ish manager can claim credit for a lot of this (I remember when he started here as a bartender - not at all surprised that he's now a manager).
F&J's is always a great choice for a delicious midtown meal but it all feels particularly pulled-together right now. Definitely worth a visit this holiday season (before this manager gets stolen away by some overpriced East Side eatery).
The service was fantastic however the food was just okay. The crab cakes had too much spicy mayo on them. The steak was over cooked & dry. The mashed potatoes were liquidy. The dessert was really good though. Our waiter was fun and everything came out very fast. They also did a great job of making sure we made it out the door & to our show on time.
This was really nice. The restaurant has a lot of history. It was first opened in 1926. It is pricey, but if you can afford it, it's well worth it lol.
Another great steakhouse with amazing respectability from the staff. The LOBSTER MAC AND CHEESSEEEE !!!! Guys it’s a must !!! One of the best I’ve ever had!! The steak goes without saying. Delicious. Avi and the crew were just the best. Cozy & comfortable atmosphere. Loved all of it. And you’ve gotta taste the house made manhattans!!!! Guys. If anything just go.
The ribeye for 2 was delicious and cooked exactly as requested. The fries were flavorful as well. Would definitely recommend to others.
5+ out of 5. A very warm, welcoming and professional environment. Thank you Abraham for your amazing service. We split an order of pork chops (2) with side of the best cream spinach I have ever had. Started with shrimp cocktail and finished with peach sorbet served in a frozen peach. Definitely on the list for future trips.
The food, the service, excellent. Great bar area, you can easily watch the game. Had the Surf and Turf, the lobster was cooked perfectly, as was the filet minion. This was my first trip to New York, on this night, it was our last meal in New York, and it was perfect.
I personally really enjoyed this restaurant the servers where very polite and nice. The food was well made and tasted amazing the steak was amazing flavorful and I enjoyed there cheese cake which was creamy. This place is honestly great with good food and good service I would come back again any time.
The service was great. The host really knew the menu and was able to offer many suggestions. The Rib eye steak was cooked to perfection and had a good balance of flavors. I’ve been to the one on 37th as well and I must say both do not disappoint.
The oysters were so delicious! I would go back and order the same thing no doubt! Service was awesome.
Upscale and large restaurant where we did not have to reserve a table. Decor are old club style and the lighting is dimmed. Our steak was cooked perfectly and the accompanying potatoes tasted good. I think the price was a bit high, but it's probably because Frankie's and Johnnie's steakhouse is located in midtown near Haralds Sq. Overall a good experience.
My husband and I came to the city for a day away. Started off with seeing MJ on Broadway which was amazing. Ended with dinner at Frankie and Johnnys which from the moment we walked in the door we felt welcomed. Roxy the manager went above and beyond for us. The food was outstanding.
We stopped in for dinner before seeing a show, another member of our party frequented the old location before it moved and hasn’t been back since. That will change as of last nights experience! We sat at the bar and were greeted by head bartender Avi, who immediately made us feel more then welcomed, when he poured our drinks he explained what the flavors and notes we would experience, and he was very patient was us while we were debating what we wanted to order food and drink wise, he frequently checked on us and even entertained our banter. Our meal consisted of the 10oz ny strip, creamed spinach, lump crab cocktail, and for desert the apple strudel. The steak was an excellent cut with amazing marbling and flavor, paired with a great buttery bearnaise sauce. The creamed spinach was divine, we were saying add a cheese to it and they could sell that as a dip with their cracker from the bread basket! The lump crab cocktail, for what you’re paying you got a great amount of crab. The Apple strudel was nice and flaky. Later manager Roxy greeted us to cap our night off. Overall an amazing experience with wonderful food but Avi and Roxy were the true gems of the evening.
