Can almost never go wrong with tacos and Barrio Chino didn't disappoint. Arrived on a somewhat busy night without reservation. Outdoor seating was readily available. We had chicken, and steak tacos. You have a choice of ordering two or three tacos. You can only pick one type (chicken, or steak, etc). So we ordered two chicken and two steak tacos and switched one out. Servers were nice and attentive. The tacos came out fast and were delicious.

MEXcellent Just across the street from me is @barriochinony so I had to try it! @stephbarbanell and I got some great food and drinks. I tried the barbacoa (lamb) tacos with pickled onions, chili pepper, and a salsa verde with a side of elote while Steph tried a quesadilla with chorizo topped with slices of avocado. I had a classic margarita and she tried the jalapeño grapefruit one. All was great!! Taco bout a fiesta Theres always a fiesta going on at @barriochinony ! Their tacos are and chips are so great that they’re always busy! I’ve been a few times now and they never disappoint, especially being conveniently located just down the block from me. We ordered chips and guac & salsa roja, steak tacos with avocado, and lamb tacos with red@pickled onions. Such simple meals yet such special flavors

Fantastic food! The Al Pastor (pork) tacos were very flavorful, so were the barbacoa (lamb) tacos. The guacamole and totopes are a must. The churros have a surprise in the chocolate sauce ;)

Came at 11 am on a Saturday and it was empty. The place filled up pretty quickly shortly afterwards. I got the guac and chile relleno. The chips in the guac were on the greasy side since I guess they were fried in house. Guac was fresh. The Chile relleno was generously stuffed and the sauce had a nice kick to it. Price was good, although I wouldn't say that the quantity was enormous, but good enough to fill up and be satisfied. The heated outdoor seating area was very cute, with a clear ceiling and plants. The only con was that the tables were slanted because it's on the street, my water cup even fell off the table at one point! Other than that, great place for lunch. It looks like there's happy hour from 5-6 pm on weekdays!

This place was fantastic! There was no wait and we were taken care of rather quickly. The server was helpful and highlighted some of the dishes on the menu. The drinks were really good and they had some interesting flavors.

Love this place. Sort of rediscovered it after years. Food is amazing. Service is really friendly and attentive. Ale waited on us - Jusin tended bar. Had their version of eggs benedict called "mamalas benedicto". Barbacoa on a thick tortilla with really tasty sauces over perfectly poached eggs. Amazing. chips come with 3 diff salsas. All amazing. drinks are very nice - grapefruit and hibiscus margaritas were highlights ... Couls be the best Mex in the city

While taking my son to a pop-up shop on Grant Street in Manhattan I came across this really cool place which to my surprise has been here over 20 years! Surviving the pandemic! A quaint spot with open air wall that to brings the outside in. Nice selection of beer. A really cool welcoming vibe. These folks are welcoming and ready to serve. (Oh yeah…the folks you see out front are waiting to get into the pop up shop around the block!)

Nice place with pretty indoor and outdoor seating. Really delicious pastor tacos and drinks especially cucumber mezcalita paloma mezcal. The only downside is pricing, pretty expensive but again it's Manhattan and prices seems to be a bit much often. Definitely worth a try if you like Mexican food and like mezcal drinks.

The owner came up to us with a smile on the whole time and made us feel welcomed! We took her recommendations on the cocktails and stuck with the fresh grapefruit margaritas. They were rimmed with sugar and tasted great!! My friend got hers half spicy and kick was there!! We started with some chips and guac. The chips appeared to be made in-house so it was delectably crunchy with each bite. I had the barbacoa lamb plate which tasted delicious but the portions made me feel like I was still hungry. Great service all around. Rezy online reservations currently has only outdoor seating available but if you make it there and call in, they swap the reservation to indoors.

Came by last Friday and had an amazing time! Our server, Nancy, went out of her way to make sure our kiddos were happy and fed and presented a very thorough menu even though the place was packed! We will be back for sure! Must try the Chorizo Quesadilla!! 🩶

Great food and great service! The decorations and overall aesthetic of the restaurant was super cute. Staff was friendly and accommodating and the food was great! Definitely try the salsa trio. Each is a unique flavor and you’re sure to love one, if not all!

Yum ! The Watermelon margarita with spicy rim is insanely luscious. Lower East Side is my old neighborhood but is perpetually spawning new grub spots for the trying. This Mexican venue has a healthy margarita variety and the tacos were fresh and savory. We ordered the octopus torta? and the el Pastor tacos. That cilantro and pineapple twist was divine. So good. We did not want sit at the bar but understood reservations were made for the table we were eyeing near the window. So we just ordered tapas and drink. I rarely will order an entree when seated at bar because I like space and more comfort when truly chowing down. We will return with friends. Make reservations!

Everyone that worked there was super cool. I felt like it was my friends helping me decide what to eat. The Al pastor tacos were great, carne asada tacos were good, the elote - AMAZING. playlist was great the whole night. Vibes are on point here

I popped into Barrio Chino on a whim for brunch tacos and was no disappointed. The Guacamole was next level and the home made tortilla chips were iconic. Service was smooth despite being a tight spot and on a Sunday afternoon. A diamond in the rough! Would visit again 👏

Barrio Chino is the spot to come for a really, I mean really excellent Magarita. If you can get it made by Carlos, even better. Ask for him. Their food is to die for. Having knowledge is Mexican cuisine I love how they incorporated new flavor techniques. Every place I go, I always order my favorite staple which is Green Chicken enchiladas. And by far this place has exceeded my expectations. It is my favorite meal to treat myself after a long week of work. My husband loves their steak tacos. Order four. Two won't be enough.

My boyfriend and I had date night here. Sat outside and shared the steak, chicken and fish tacos. I ordered the spiciest margarita of my life. The waitress told me a lot of people return it but since I consider myself to have a high tolerance for spice, I went for it. I can see why people return it but it was delicious. I finished abt 80% but yeah, it was super hot. The fish tacos were the best. The chicken and steak were a close second, I love when steak has crispy edges but there is nothing like a good fish taco in the summer.

little pricey but the product is stand out for exceptional quality and preparation so i thoroughly enjoyed the flavors. the salsas taste really fresh and the spicy one is a little too robust to throw on the steak tacos but i did a tad and it was a nice compliment. the steak had an incredible sear on it with a nice little bite from onion and creaminess from the avocado. pretty sure the tortillas are made in house. the bartender was really nice even though i had to repeat my order cause i have bad hearing. can't wait to come back and try more

Great place to eat, definitively overpriced considering the portion size and quality, even by NYC standards though. Would be 5 stars if the prices were 25% lower. Everything on the menu is great.

One of my favorite restaurants in NY. Amazing food, cozy and authentic experience and a down to earth feeling. The mole is excellent as well as the tacos or the sopa azteca.
