Enjoyed our night at Brasserie Cognac this evening. The food was good. I had the duck. It was good but not great. We also had the Salmon and that was out of this world. The cheese puffs were really good as well. The onion soups were good and just the right size. So often the soups are too lar
Had lunch at Brasserie Cognac, and the experience was very nice. This is a good Upper East Side restaurant that was absolutely packed when we visited for a weekday lunch. The food was solid, and the service was outstanding during our visit. This is a very nice neighborhood restaurant / French Bistro
A rather typical French UES restaurant with relatively senior crowd. Inside is cuter than outside, both are pretty spacious, there are also tables on the upper floor.
A good find - brut champagne for $17 (decent quality as opposed to many overpriced bubbles), a great value for UES. The octopus salad
Excellent Tuna Tartare and Fillet Mignon. We received a booth table when we asked which I appreciate. Will definitely come back.
The food was absolutely Devine. The dessert was my fa favorite đ The service was desirable and you're likely to run into neighborhood friends with good taste đ
Nice place, delicious food and good, attentive service.
Will definitely recommend the Boeuf Bourgignon, it is amazing along with the steak tartar.
Portions are not overly generous but you will not leave hungry either, so I guess they are just right.
Do expect to drop 200 something dollars for 2 peop
Food is decent but not spectacular. Service same. I would give both a 3.5 if that was an option. Bread was stale. Appetizer of goat cheese puff pastry had too much puff, not enough goat. Salmon over cooked. Apple tart acceptable but on the bland side. Service also spotty, forgot the lemon for the fi
Amazing food, great little quaint spot in the upper east side.
Everything about the steak frites and burger was incredible. And last but not least, the chocolate soufflĂ© was one of the best iâve ever had in a very long time.
Definitely worth it.
Went there on a Saturday night for a table for 3, had made reservations only an hour prior.
Greeted, seated promptly and were happily relocated to the table we asked for.
The bread, drinks, food and the service was what you'd expect at a Brasserie.
Would definitely go back and the prices are very re
Would go back, itâs a great spot for brunch. The host was very pleasant and the atmosphere is warm and cozy. She had the Cheese SoufflĂ©, which was light in texture and mild in flavor making it an interesting experience thatâs enjoyable when your appetite is for something small. It was fun to eat. He
Just hosted a baby shower at Brasserie Cognac 70th for 15 guests. We were upstairs in a semi private room. Fantastic venue and service. They created the perfect day for us. Highly recommend.
Amazing evening, love the food...I also am a huge fan of the floating island dessert. The atmosphere was relaxing and romantic, sat outside on this unusual warm fall evening. Cognac is definitely my number one restaurant.
NYC Restaurant week Winter 2020:
The restaurant has 2 floors, with first floor for small groups, cozy decors that are elegant but not ornate, feels history thru photo but not old, small to maneuver but sits comfortably. Popular destination for affluent locals from opening till closing. Located near
Brasserie Cognac is a very special restaurant with an exceptional menu that offers classic French cuisine along with comfort foods like outstanding homemade chicken salad as well as tender and delicious steaks and seafood entrees. A very nice place. Service is excellent. I started with C'est si bon cocktail. Very good but should put less ice in it. For starters we took the onion soup (very good), escargot (ok, with a great gravy) and cheese puffs, which was fine but not more. The fillets mignon was excellent!!! The chicken w
Lovely place, we went without a plan but were very pleased with everything. The food was a but pricey but worth it. Service was great. We sat outside so ambience was as good as street seating can offer but cannot complain. Good place overall.
Who doesnât love a French brunch or dinner while up and about on New York Cityâs Upper East Side? Cognac delivers delightful dishes, large and small, as well as an excellent collection of wines. The French onion soup and the Oeufs Benedict are wonderful, and well apportioned for brunch. The manageme
