Came here last night with our family and loved it. The staff was great- chef made the best recommendations (thank you Charles) and we loved everything - had the gol gappa, kale chaat (so yum!), Aloo, lamb, shrimp, tandoori chicken, daal...and a few more. Sooooo good! I loved how the flavors were so distinct yet still Indian. Best part was not waking up like I ate unhealthy heavy food. We will be back!!!! So happy to have you in the neighborhood!!!Bonus: warren the mixologist makes awesome drinks....and does magic tricks to help entertain our 4 yr old.
The wine menu is lovely and the cauliflower is the best ever!
Loved it I would recommend this place to everybody ,Chef Charles has done a fantastic job.Great location amazing Menu.
Really fun n laid back vibe. Chefs tasting menu was really adventurous - the guy with the mustache was really engaging
This is one of the greatest restaurants in NYC! Chef Charlie knows what he's doing! If you haven't been, you simply must go!!
Delicious food! Next time I want to try the chef tasting menu, which let's you try a variety of dishes. Highly recommended!
The food was delicious and the service was fantastic! Every person who stopped at our table seemed genuinely interested in making sure we were taken care of and that our food was good.
Amazing flavor here and everything is so fresh
Great service as well!
Wonderful food, great service. A delightful place.
I’ve traveled in India extensively 6 times and each trip was a 3/4week span. Badshah has captured a fresh take on the authentic and traditional. From Goa to Punjab, South India/Bangalore to Brooklyn where my friends first introduced me to these flavors, Chef Charles is on fire. I ate there twice last week Monday night and Friday night.
Excellent food and service. Must try.
Delicioso y un excelente servicio. yo no había probado la comida de india y me super encantó al igual que las bebidas .
Delicious!!! Will be back again.
The food was solid with a lot of veggie options. I loved the eggplant curry dish and the koftah was good as well. The staff were attentive and friendly.
Sustainability rating: 3 out of 5. reusable dinner ware was used but there were plastic straws for drinks. Not sure if they compost.
Food have lots of flavor and well prepared. Not as traditional Indian, but in a good way.
Chicken Tandoor was moist and tender which was rare for this dish.
Lamb curry was spicy and perfect. The garnish w fresh ginger was a nice touch and added flavor.
Service was good, however it was a quiet night. So it's to be seen.
The music was definitely way too loud for a restaurant. We had to inform the bartender to turn to down so we can chat.
It's a bit on the expensive side for the dishes. I would say worth it since the meat taste fresh and of good quality.
One of the best Indian food I had in NYC. Everything we ate here was really good. Don’t miss the cauliflower, boneless tandoori chicken (usually very good but this time was disappointing) and the famous naan bread. This is not your average Indian restaurant, prices are higher than usual but you can feel the different in food quality. Also, there is always an available table. The place can be a little bit noisy and the overall ambience is not right for the price point. The atmosphere and the decor feels too casual.
Went here for dinner as a large group (9 people) and had reservations and were seated right away upon an on-time arrival. The place is relatively small so reservations highly recommended if you are going here as a large group.
First off, what stands out is their excellent service and the pace at which food kept coming out from their kitchen. The average turn around time was less than 3 minutes!
We ordered a few cocktails which are priced around $16, and mine included Bubbly Maharani. The description and names are very catchy, but the drinks itself fail to live up to those expectations. We ordered just one round and that was it.
Our appetizers included a couple of things including a Kale & Moong Chaat ($10), Chutney & Cheese Charcuterie Board ($28), and Keema Pao ($14). Appetizers were good.
For mains, I got the Hyderabadi Biryani - Vegetarian ($24) and our table got the mutton one. My review is specifically for the vegetarian biryani which flavor wise was good, had generous portions of cauliflower, carrots, and small bites of paneer (3 small cubes). The pricing is definitely off and $24 for a veggie biryani with a small portion is ridiculous.
Friendly staff, decent food, but definitely an overpriced menu.
Good value, food here is delicious and reasonably priced. Dined in for restaurant week, tasted a variety of small bites. Although the service is very casual, they let us order any drinks we wanted (restaurant week menu comes with 2 drinks per person).
Really good Indian food! Close by and will go back. Nice staff and a cute atmosphere. Simple menu and beautiful presentation.
Really good Indian. Not necessarily as modern as the name would lead you to believe — aRoqa is a better example of that — but still quality. Great tandoori chicken, excellent naan. Cocktail menu is not online but they have one and the drinks are creative and good. I’ll be back. You should try it.
Loved the food here! Their bar is impressive too. Great if you're looking for indulgent Indian food.
All the food, appetizers (we tried cauliflower and samosas), main dishes (duck Curry and lamb korma) sides (basmati and naan basket) were faultless. The mango lassi is also definitely worth trying!
One of the best Indian restaurants in NYC I must say and I am Indian . Food is very authentic to our roots. We were a large group and they were able to cater us. We ordered bunch of appetizers and drinks at first . They all came out pretty fast . Followed it with our Main Course and it was out pretty quick as well . The servers eyeballed everything. It was overall a great experience.
Ambiance - 10/10 Love the Art Work
Service - 10/10 On Point
Happy Hour - Yes
WiFi- Yes , they even have portable chargers
Small, yet cozy restaurant offering some great quick bites of Indian Cuisine and a wide variety of mixed drinks. Definitely try the Paan Ice Cream, you'll thank me later!
Now that was a great surprise! All of the amazing flavor and aroma of traditional Indian without the heaviness. A mixture of savory, tangy, and subtly sweet, we loved every dish on the tasting menu. And the cocktails were creative without being annoying and pretentious. A great spot - highly recommend.
Excellent Indian food. Food has great flavor. Little pricey though specially for Hell's Kitchen
Great gobi, great garlic naan. Very tasty chilly shrimp too. It's a good place. It's very modern and light and has a nice long bar. The restroom was clean. If it's full it might get a bit noisy.
Good India food. Small portions, not inexpensive. Nice place. Good service. Lots of veg options.
