I had a great meal yesterday at Pho Bang. I had the Pho Bo, beef Pho and the Vietnamese Spring rolls. The food was fresh. Tasty and very affordable. Good portion. Great friendly service
They only take cash so be prepared 🤷♂️
First time I ate here. My husband ordered a Lemongrass Pork Chop and I ordered a Regular Pho. The rice goes with pork chop is a fried rice in Chinese style (not with a white rice but I guess you can let them know if you want white rice) and my husband likes it. I would rate my husband dish 8/10. In another hand my Pho is not too bad nor too good. Especially I kinda disappointed about the broth. I tried Pho in many Vietnamese restaurants in New York and this is not the special one or the memorable one so I would rate it 5.5/10. The service is alright they don't let you wait so long for the food and the table and utensils look clean and decent.
Best Pho in NY so far. Come for 火车头.
Recommendation: You can trust this restaurant and every menu is delicious.
Notice: cash only.
They have been open in Chinatown for more than 10 years. They keep the low prices with high quality of food. I love the taste.
High quality-price ratio. We ordered combination rice noodle beef soup with fresh eye of round brisket, terdon, and omosa (#1, 1 large and 1 small), curry chicken with bread (#25), spicy and sour soup (#32), expresso black condensed milk iced coffee (#4 in drinks), Vietnamese spring roll (#20), and a rice vermicelli (I forgot which one it was). The price is 25 per person. We were soooo full when we are leaving but still have some leftover.
As a pho lover, one thing I am always worried is that the soup is salty while the the noodle is plain. At Pho Bang, it is quite the opposite. The soup is not salty at all and the taste of noodle is rich. They also have the omosa in combination which is a plus.
Great food!
The pho is one of the best in town - my Vietnamese friends said so too. The soup is so well balanced. The other dishes are great as well!
Very recommended!
Been eating here since 2001 when I used to meet my mom here for lunch. Back then, I was obsessed with their pork chops over rice and that was what I got almost every time I went got many years (still very good!); but fast forward 21 years, now I come for the combination rice noodles beef soup - always no. 1… always extra large bowl. Their meats are not always as top quality as some of the other viet restaurants around Chinatown, but their broth is what I come for. It’s superb, and perfect when it’s freezing cold out. Normally if I come with friends we also get the spring rolls and calamari to share, but today I dropped by alone for an “early dinner” before my actual dinner plans with friends much later in the evening. Yes, a meal before a meal- but it was so cold out and I was so hungry and happened to be in the area. Covid measures: vaccine cards checked at entrance for dine in, hand sanitizers at every table, adequate spacing between tables. Excellent service as always. Got the Vietnamese coffee even though it was already 6p and it’ll keep me up- but it’s one of those excellent vices that if presented with the opportunity I can’t not order it. An excellent meal that hit the spot!
I've been eyeing this restaurant for a while now and finally- I made my way downtown walking fast-
Now this is some of the best, fresh, flavorful pho I've ever had. I walked in and saw a packed yet calm atmosphere, lots of slurping and chatter going on which is always a treat. I was greeted and directed to a table immediately.
The beef pho #12 is classic pho! Very solid in flavor, meat was cut thinly and the noodles were classic.
The spring rolls were also typical Vietnamese shrimp rolls and everything was so fresh and prepared neatly. It was excellent with the sauce!
That being said, nothing was disappointing not even the service. I'll definitely be back 😌
Loved this place! The food prices are very affordable and the portions are generous. The staff are kind and efficient.
The takeout are well packed so you won’t worry about spillage since they have a lot of soups on their menu.
I bought the #28 and thoroughly enjoyed it.
I am yet to try out their pho but I am sure that will be great too as I noticed a lot of the people dining in ordered that.
The food was great and the staff were really nice too. They help taught us om how some dishes were eaten correctly. The portions were good too.
