It's been ~6 years since my quest to find good Indian food in the city started; a search that would (temporarily) cure the acute pangs for genuine flavour that the desi in me suffers from. Angaan is the closest that I have come so far and I have tried most of the top rated restaurants across the boroughs. The service is slow but for good reasons. The fact that it was time for desserts before my brain dinged to click a photo is testament to their quality. (We ordered the Malai kebab for appetizers, the tandoori shrimp and lamb pakku ⭐ as entrees and gulab jamun for dessert) The only reason they get 4-stars is because I am still hopeful I'll find THE one 😉

Delicious food and lovely service! We got samosas & vegetable pakora, dal makhani, channa masala, and a few other dishes. This place has great vegan and vegetarian options, with very clear menu sections to indicate. Everything was wonderful, we will be back!

Good option for northern Indian food, including non-vegetarian options on the Upper West Side.

Delicious traditional Indian dishes! I had the lamb shank special and a wonderful orange peel and coriander Bira beer 🍻 Relaxing atmosphere with very attentive and friendly wait staff! Highly recommend you give this wonderful restaurant a try!

This is literally the best Indian cuisine I’ve ever had in nyc. As someone who is Bengali and frequents Jackson heights, I’m really impressed by all the amazing flavors available here. I’m obsessed with the chicken tikka masala and garlic naan goes so well with it. They also have the best mango lassi I’ve ever had, they’ve nailed the thickness of it perfectly.
