Was not a fan of their noodles but the wings were a different story ... Extremely yummy wings ... Very juicy on the inside, nice and crisp on the out ... If you like the heat, go for the spicy ... The soy is much more mild with a more neutral flavour but still extremely good ... Very friendly staff as well ... Overall a very nice dining experience

BonChon is crack. One is never enough. Sometimes a craving will hit you so hard that the only thing you can do is succumb to it and indulge in this fried heaven. Now, you’re probably wondering what the hell is BonChon? Well, BonChon is a restaurant chain (yeah it’s a chain, don’t judge me) that serves fried chicken. This is no ordinary fried chicken. This is pure gluttonous, double fried, made to order Korean fried chicken crack. Yep, it’s that good. FYI BonChon is the Korean word for “my hometown”.

They have two locations in New York City, with several others back east, as well as two opening soon in California. Watch out Cali, you too will become an addict. I visited their location on West 38th Street in Midtown. I know, I know, you’re probably thinking F that, I’m not going to freaking Midtown for food, I hate Midtown. Trust me, I do too, but it’s so worth it.

My friends and I ordered 30 Chicken Wings to share. We couldn’t decide which sauce to get, so we got a half and half order. Half Spicy, and the other half with Soy Garlic. Every meal is served with Korean fermented radish. Rice, however, is extra.

The wings are perfectly fried and crispy, and the sauces are absolutely mouth watering. Don’t like wings? No problem, they also have drum sticks, and for those of you who don’t like bones (what is wrong with you?), they have chicken strips.

Besides Korean fried chicken, BonChon also serves other Korean food items… But in all honesty, why would you go here and not eat the Fried Chicken? Seriously, eat the fried chicken, it will change your life!

I love this place. The chicken is fried so that the skin is very crispy but the meat is super moist. The bulgogi taco is also very good. All the food goes well with the various soju that they serve.

The term ‘guilty pleasure’ isn’t a great one. I love Dave Grohl’s quote about him not having any guilty pleasures because everyone has the right to enjoy what they enjoy without other people giving them a hard time about it. With that being said, I really do enjoy Korean pop music. Come on, I live in a town where you’re born knowing how to play Starcraft and styling your hair with wax. I can’t help but enjoy the synchronised dance moves of Girl’s Generation, the sort of ambiguous good looks of CN Blue and Big Bang’s never ending string of hits. I never expected to enjoy some K-Pop tunes playing on a screen adjacent to one broadcasting the NFL play-offs. Well, that happened in BonChon. Clearly, I’m still the best photographer in the blogosphere According to my sources, Bon-Chon translates to ‘the greatest fried chicken in the world (my sources are ketchup, aioli and mayonnaise). I arrived at night during the midst of an intense playoff battle between the Seattle Seahawks and the New Orl

I’ll admit, I’m not the biggest lover of chicken. However, BonChon Chicken is some of the best fried chicken I have tasted in New York. No, it’s not like traditional southern fried chicken, nor is it trying to be might I add. It is just some really good Korean Chicken.

We had the mixed 4 drums and 12 wings set and easily finished it off. Those drums were huge and buffalo-sized.
