Best authentic Mexican food I have ever eaten. Most "Mexican" restaurants throw a corona or margarita in your hand and some fajitas and that's Mexican. This place had a really good selection of Mexican beer s( not corona) the tequila list is huge...and I didn't know what to order so I asked the waitress and she recommended a pork dish that was top notch. The platano desert they light on fire takes 15 minutes to make so make sure to order ahead if you are in a rush. We had a concert to go to and couldn't wait.
With 4 kids and a vegetarian mom (dad will eat anything), it is hard to find a place that we can all agree on. Everything was amazing! The service was great, and the portions were perfect!

Café Frida is a awesome place for having a quick food and drinks, this place has a awesome atmosphere and I love the service and food quality here.

Really great margaritas! ... For starters we had chips with delicious guacamole. We didn't want a big dinner so we had the empanadas with squash blossoms and goat cheese, and a tostada with short ribs. Service was very friendly.

The quesadilla monarca was very well prepared and juicy. However, the side salad could have been replaced with beans/rice for a more authentic Mexican taste (and to be more filling!)

The best Mexican in NYC. Great guacamole and margaritas... the ceviche is amazing and the mole is the real deal. Your best bet is to go with the specials. They are always delicious.
Haute Cuisine Mexican. I have been coming to Frida for years; and thankfully, their menu is consistently fantastic, unlike many of the other trendy restaurants that after gaining their reviews, lazily rest on their past glory and churn out a bored copy of signature dishes; I love the fact that the staff tastes the specials of the day; I can always trust their recommendations. The made at the table guac is famous; and the mole chicken is unmatched anywhere in the city. This is the place to take your out of town guests for a culinary experience they will always remember.

This is one of my favourite NYC restaurants. Consistently excellent food, service and they have excellent tequilla. Be sure to have guacamole!
Relaxed & Yummy. We enjoy stopping in here as often as we can. The menu changes so that you don not get bored with the same selections. The shrimp tacos are flavorful as well as the queso and you have to order the fresh made gaucamole. There is a small bar if you just would like a drink and appetizer. The selection of tequila is quite good.
Good food, mediocre service. The food was really good and I would go back for that reason but the service could be improved.

Aside from the fact that the mole was a tad bit on the oily side, I LOVED these enchiladas! It's been as long as I can remember that a restaurant has actually used Chihuahua cheese in their enchiladas and nailed the shit out of their mole sauce. Seriously, most of the versions that my fellow El Pasoans and I have had in NYC are a repulsive joke. But CF does it right!
