Limited menu because of Resurrection Sunday but the choices were good
We had the best waiter ever. He made us feel welcomed and he was very knowledgeable on the menu
The food was well seasoned. And tho the steamed veggies were a bit cold it was not bad

A friend took us here on a recent trip and I liked it. I wanted someplace authentic and he suggested this place....spot on. The front bar area is way too crowded and hot but we were seated in the back at a table. Very tight space but fun and friendly.
The tapas arrived before we even looked at the menu and were amazing. Meatballs, sausage and oysters.
Wife and I shared the chicken with rice and the other couple had the Paella. All of us loved our food and were stuffed. Even with both couples sharing a dish we had plenty to take home so the price was definitely right.
Don't expect a spotless place that is renovated and updated. The furnishings look to be circa 1965 and that was just fine with us.

We have been here before and loved everything about this restaurant. Food is beyond delicious and the service is 1st class. The portions are amazing too! I saw one bad review and that woman had some kind of "beef" with them because her review was absurd and rediculous. I know a lot of regulars at this restaurant and they all give it 5 stars and travel quite a distance to eat at the Spain. As do we..believe you WILL NOT be disappointed. One of the BEST.

This place had been bragged to me about from people who had visited years ago but this place has apparently lost its touch. When you go in your realize the place is overdue for a remodeling and the ac doesn't work in the front room (so they say, I believe to save money when there isn't a lot of people there). The food was decent. I recommend the garlic shrimp as an appetizer (was the best part of the entire experience there), their seafood was okay and of course expensive. I believe I got a stuffed lobster meal that came with two lobsters stuffed with crab meat and Spanish pototaes(look like thick cup potato chips). It was OKAY. I really was expecting it to taste better for seafood to be one of their specialties. They charge you for each drink including soda which would be more acceptable if the glass wasn't so small. One thing to know is to pay attention to your bill when you get it because you'll notice that the bill is more expensive than you expected it to be and that's because with out it being marked on the receipt, they automatically include the tip. There is no spot on the receipt that says "tip" which also seems intentional in hopes that you tip again. Also, your server will not tell you either for likely reasons. Overall not my favorite place and with so many places so similar in the same area it makes no sense to go back.

Spain is our favorite@@@ restaurant in the Ironbound. The food is wonderful and copious. The waiters are courtly and gracious. Try the garlic chicken, the paella or any fish dish. There is free parking in their own lot across the street. Don't be fooled by the unpretentious exterior the inside is warm and comfortable. It also features an excellent wine list. Prices are very reasonable.

Got there early- empty. Waiter was not very attentive or helpful. Misunderstood order and question so when we ordered Paella he assumed rather than confirmed we want the combination with everything and served us just the seafood. The seafood was awful. The mussels smelled, the shrimp was dry frozen, the clams were overcooked and strong, the big scallops tasted like ammonia, the lobster was dry and stringy. The rice and bread were good… When I questioned the lack of chicken and chorizo he told me that wasn't what we ordered then brought us a small plate of 4 pieces of reheated chicken and some sliced fried chorizo… too bad. We wanted to like it but the seafood tasted like iodine and smelled bad.
Good sangria.

The Paella Valencia was excellent for the seafood lover in me and truly generous portions. There was no room for dessert even though I had only about a third of the serving. A definite do again.
