Have no clue how we missed this place, but am glad we finally tried it. Had fired shrimp and fried haddock. Both were better than the Causeway and Captain Carlos which says a lot. Plates were full of food at a good price and were delicious to say the least. Waitress was a blast to talk to. Certainly this is a nice hidden gem!

If you like fried clams, shrimp, scallops or haddock, you owe it to yourself to try the delicious fried seafood at Park Lunch in Newburyport, MA. You will not be disappointed. You can also get baked haddock too, which is also excellent. Bottom line - this is THE place for great seafood.

As a former resident of Newburyport, I can say I miss a lot of the shops and restaurants. I really miss having delicious fried clams. Yes, I drove almost two hours to have them. The atmosphere is "pub" and the crowd is slightly older. A clue that people on a tighr budget go there because the food is great. And affordable. The bartenders and servers are always friendly. The place is always busy. Highly recommended the Park Lunch. All of the food is good. And you will leave satisfied and happy. Or happier. Enjoy.

I feel bias in rating the Park Lunch. I grew up in the neighborhood and will always consider it my go to Hidden Gem even though I don't live here anymore but still within eating distance. I've been to ALOT of places in town but I'd only do a review for THE BEST!! Comfort food at it's best and hands down....the BEST Fried Shrimp....Scallops and ALL time favorite......Fried Clam plate. The portions are almost down right crazy for the dollar and the quality is off the boat fresh. What you see in that picture is not just for show....that's the real deal! If I had a last meal request......this would be mine! Ownership and staff WILL become your instant friends. :)

Absolute five star rating! We went here on a suggestion from our friends and we were NOT disappointed. The fried seafood was the best and the tartar sauce was fantastic. The boys loved the decor as we were reading all of the college pennants while we waited for our food. The wait staff was fantastic and the wait time was even better. We will definitely be back.

Old school sports bar serving the true 'Porters! Friendly foods and really great food! Inside it has a wooden bar and dining area for about 50 folks! You're surrounded by sports memorabilia, mostly Newburyport High and college teams. Service was fast and very friendly. Very clean place throughout. I came because I'd heard that have excellent fried clams. Verdict: AWESOME! Huge portion of super sweet clans, fried just to crispy. (Now right at the moment clams are in short supply and great demand, so prices are through the roof! This serving was $36.95). Note: Please see the picture of the clam plate after I finished the clams. Sir places cover a giant mound of fries with a few clams. This was almost all clams! (Disclaimer...my wife ate about 5 fries before I took the pic!) My wife got a meatball sub, which was good and a nice sauce as well. A couple beers and it was an awesome lunch at a reasonable cost, if not for the current markup on clams. I would highly recommend a stop here when in Newburyport to avoid the touristy places on the main roads.

A ten minute walk from the bridge πŸŒ‰ at the edge of downtown Newburyport. It was a nice πŸ‘ neighborhood to walk through and smell the flowers 🌼. We dined outside. I had a burger πŸ” with lettuce πŸ₯¬, tomato πŸ…, onion πŸ§… and mayo and a side of pasta salad. My friend, she had the special, a grilled chicken πŸ— wrap with balsamic vinaigrette, feta cheese, red onion πŸ§… and spinach with fries. Both of us had unsweetened ice tea for drinks. All of the food was good, though I πŸ€” thought πŸ’ the pasta salad could have had a little more mayo. The macaroni was perfectly cooked, no undercooked noodles. Prices are reasonable. I compared online to downtown Newburyport restaurant's prices and Park Lunch is competitive. Burger πŸ” goes up in price the more you want with it. Portion to price, especially the macaroni salad, is good. The chicken πŸ” wrap was a daily special, not a menu item. Wifi available. Facemasks are not required. Bathrooms were in good shape. AC was on inside. Service was good! Light rock played on the speaker πŸ”Š, πŸ¦… Eagles, Mac, Queen πŸ‘‘, Petty, ECT. If you dine outside, be careful of the tables. The breeze started to tilt the table a little. I kept my foot πŸ‘£ on a table leg to keep it steady. I recommend a visit. Update: Sunday afternoon, July 2021; We ate inside. We ordered a pizza πŸ• and the kids really liked it. My finicky daughter asked for more. The inside was crowded, not much space to move. Sports memorabilia covered the entire place.

Delicious!! Thank you Wendy, from Simply Sweet, for recommending Park Lunch. We had a wonderful anniversary dinner with the family. The steak tips, fried shrimp, and broccoli special was outstanding! Also, the sour cream and chives fries were da’ bomb! Thanks!!
