Too Sweet has the best frozen bananas and Balboa bars on the island! Their chocolate is amazing and their frozen yogurt is delicious. Their high quality ingredients make a big difference! Be sure to stop by the next time you are on the island!
Our family loves Too Sweet. It is a little more expensive than the other balboa bar locations but so worth it. The chocolate is so good. I love the frozen yogurt there too.
The small chocolate banana is super big and the chocolate is very thick for sure. What I really like are the shell chocolate they look so real.
Always great! They have the best Balboa Bars and frozen bananas on the island and it's where the locals go. They have better flavor, because they dip their Balboa Bars and frozen bananas in a blend of REAL chocolate. They use a natural ice cream and you can choose between vanilla or chocolate ice cream. They also have caramel apples, fudge, and various other chocolates (including some sugar-free chocolates too). We go here more than I'd like to admit...😅
I've had at least 20 Balboa Bars over the years, and Too Sweet's Balboa Bar is BY FAR the best tasting, with highest quality chocolate (darker and more rich than it's nearby neighbors). The chocolate dip is twice as thick as others I've tried. PERFECTION!!!
Also, the dark chocolate truffles should not be missed!
We went here while staying in Newport at the recommendation of family. We looked at the lines at the other balboa bar places and were so glad we came here! It was amazing. The chocolate is sooo much better than normal balboa bars. They have chocolate ice cream as an option. They are very generous with toppings. The chocolate doesn’t crack and fall off within a bite or two. You can get dark chocolate if you want it. My whole family thought they were the best balboa bars we’ve ever had since coming to that area for over 20 years! It’s also nice they have frozen yogurt for those who prefer that. Highly recommend!
Too Sweet is a quaint chocolate shop in the heart of Balboa. The Balboa bars are my go to treat when in town! Great service! Highly recommend!
I have been visiting and now living on the island for over 55 years. As a kid the other two place for Bars and Bananas were the only choices. Too Sweet has by far the best chocolate dipped items. They use REAL chocolate - the others do not. Too Sweet is also connected to Tutti Frutti for frozen yogurt. I send friends, relatives, and youth athletes to Too Sweet and everybody gives it complete Thumbs Up. Also show proof of Balboa Island residency for a special treat.

Absolutely the best Balboa Bar I have ever tasted. This place was clean and well laid out. The staff was friendly and prepared my order quickly. I was able to be inside out of the hot sun when ordering. They have lots of options too. It is well worth the drive from Costa Mesa and I will be returning as often as I can. It was the best part of the day after a walk around the island. Thank you.
