This was my first time in Newport. I had never heard of Mo's prior to stumbling upon it. The chowder served in the bread bowl is beautiful to experience. I can not say that this is the best chowder I've had, but I would recommend trying it at least once. I also had the shrimp skewers.

This place was a last minute thing since we arrived in Newport a little late. But it wasn’t a disappointment. Our waitress was awesome and we had the oyster shooters, clam cheer and halibut sandwich. Also the Rogue whiskey ginger drink was great. Definitely coming back

My partner and I have fond memories of eating at Mo's with our families during childhood coast trips and wanted to relive those times together as adults. We stayed at an inn not too far from Newport and made sure to stop by the nearby Mo's for dinner. This location is conveniently located and has a decent amount of space, wasn't too crowded on a Thursday evening, which wasn't something we were used to (we remember long waits at the Lincoln City location). The place was a bit dingy, but I would not complain due to the amazing prices and quality of food you get for what you pay. The chowder here is classic, and I would say that this location is more generous about the amount of clams they provide in the soup than other Mo's places. However, neither of us are very big seafood fans, and I must praise Mo's for having an excellent menu outside of the sea creatures. I've always loved their pasta, which is actually pretty cheap (and comes with delicious garlic bread), and my boyfriend had a great time eating his chili burger. Service was pretty nice and on top of things. In addition, they have a cute little gift shop near the entrance/exit. Definitely a go-to- place for anyone at the coast.

We went to MO’s while in Newport. I loved it. It was the best wait service we’ve had in years. The server (Torrey) had us falling out of our seats laughing. She was the best. We had the chowder, choppino, and fish n’ chips. All were really good! There’s no pretense at MO’s. It’s like an old school chowder house in a blue collar setting. That’s the charm of it. Based on the description of mama Mo, she would not have had it any other way. I understand that seaside real estate prices cause menu prices to go up by a dollar or two and that’s fair in my opinion. This may discourage some but if you want to see what real-life dining is like in a sea side working town, it’s a good bet. We thought the choppino was reminiscent of a Manhattan chowder with seafood. Nicely flavored. The fish and chips (halibut) was solid. The chowder is super rich and thick. I bet it kept a sailor warm at sea back in the day. Oh yeah, we ended it with the Marion berry cobbler a la mode. Cool to try a local fav. Go to Mo’s, have fun. Don’t expect gourmet, expect real good food with really fun people and I bet you’ll have a great time!

Great service. A Saturday, labor day weekend, and they were able to get our party of 9 seated within 20 minutes. Our waitress was so on-the-ball. You could ask for something and she was back with it in seconds. Unfortunately didn't get her name, but all the staff we interacted with were great. Grilled cheese comes with chips, but you're able to do fries or tater tots instead. They had slices of sourdough bread on the menu so I asked if they could make it on that, didn't expect it to be huge! The bread was so soft. Easily some of the best sourdough I've ever had. The cheese pulls were amazing! Had my goddaughter with me, they gave us a cup of water for her with a toy shark that she got to keep. We thought that was the coolest thing. Definitely unique. I do wish they had parking however, the area is crazy and it was very hard to find parking.

It's crowded for a reason! Some of the best fresh seafood you can find on the Oregon Coast. Something for everyone, and high quality, delicious ingredients every time.

Just stopped in for dessert and the peanut butter pie was delicious , light and creamy, but not too sweet. Our server was nice and attentive. I think we might have to try the Marionberry Cobbler next time.

Wow what great food. Very happy with everything. I will say they need to make sure that if someone is going to help the host out that they understand timing. A busser tried to help and told us it would be an hour wait even with tables open in the room next door. The actual host came to the front and sat us right away. We almost left due to the busser telling us it was going to be an hour wait. After that it was amazing food and service

I was driving down the Oregon coast and saw signs for Mo’s. I decided on the original location in Newport to see if it was up to par. I was pretty impressed with the clam chowder to start and I got the fried seafood mix. I was amazed with the tater tots. The seasoning was exceptional and the best tots I’ve ever had. Had the local Rogue beer and topped off the meal with mixed berry cobbler which was good but not spectacular. Definitely a good experience overall.

Decent stop for Oyster Stew. We tried the Slumgulliin but it had way too many photos and less clams than expected. Very busy and noisy.

Go early if you can this place fills us. Omg the fastest food service in the west! Did have to wait for the bill though probably because we didn’t eat all of our food. Fish and chips and chowder!

Had heard about Mo’s famous chowder for years and finally had an opportunity to go (I live in San Diego). The chowder impressed this girl from New England - thick, creamy, and loaded with tender clams. The clam strips were the best I’ve ever had! Fish and chips also very very good. Food was so excellent I sought out other locations several times while driving and staying on the Oregon Coast

Visited Newport October 2022 for a week. I've been here several times throughout my childhood. It was nice to visit once again after many years. This was the first restaurant I chose to eat at when i arrived late at night. I was so hungry and got some chowder. Was so good! I've eaten here a few times throughout the week I stayed. I didn't really like the fried platter I got too much because of the breading. The oyster stew was okay. The chowder and chowder with shrimps was very good!

The service was gracious and excellent. I had a bowl of clam chowder in a cup of coffee. Chowder was delicious I would like to have had another serving. The waitress offered but it's not in my budget. Maybe it came with a refill?I don't know and I didn't ask. I wanted to make sure she had a good tip. She's really outstanding!

This was a great experience. We ordered the shrimp/tuna stuffed avocado, the cioppino, clam chowder, and multiple kid’s plates. Food was great and at a reasonable price. It was not the best we have had but this is definitely a safe/good choice. Place - the place is large but the tables are squeezed with 6 people. Felt a little tight. It’s your typical seafood decor. Not too fancy. Staff - friendly enough Cost - reasonable Food - good. Not great, but good.

Mo's is a well known restaurant for clam chowder and other seafood. It has been years since I had been there and my husband had never eaten there. We got a bowl of chowder and halibut and chips with the shrimp and cabbage salad to share which allowed enough room for us to share some marionberry cobbler. The food was all good however my husband said my chowder is better. 😊 I really loved the salad so simple and delicious. It reminded me of being a child and having dinner at a family friends house. I have to say that even though they were busy our server Daniel 👍👍was fantastic!!!🎉 he was really running and managing to take care of everyone.

I will not give the establishment less stars for noisy kids or not being as fast as Vegas, because this place was packed, and people got in and out in less than hour. Food was served less than 10 mins after your order is taken, and crying children are not the establishment's fault. Food was amazing, too! Of course, I did expect amazing clam chowder since that was what they were supposedly known for, however, clam chowder was just fine. The serving portion of the chowder was not for an entree but rather a light snack. Add the shrimps and it's great but still.. not worth how much they charge. What I really loved was the baked oysters because they were HUGE and definitely worth it. Also, for drinks, northwest beer is a whole nother level, so that's half luck of location and half good choice of beer on tap. Overall, satisfied with this stay and would come for seafood. Really would rate this 4.9 stars.

Mo's is a real gem to get some excellent clam chowder. Well worth the hour wait to get seated. A large menu to choose from with lots of options. The crab dip is mighty tasty. The seafood Alfredo is chalked full of seafood, the Caesar salad is not too shabby. Sweet potatoes fries and the marionberry cobbler à la mode, a nice accent and finish to a joyful gastronomic experience.

Fantastic fish (salmon) and chips. Possibly the best beer battered fish I've ever had. Kids meals also good. But the kids drinks were so fun. We had 2 chocolate milks and they each came with a plastic shark on the straw. The kids loved them and will definitely enjoy playing with the sharks. Fabulous service as well. Definitely recommend if you're in the area. We will probably be back before the weekend ends.
