Sail Inn Cafe - Newport - Photo album

The food is great and the clam chowder is even better. However this restaurant is about to go through a change on management and the restaurant may not have the same food standard. The food we had was Homemade and just outstanding.
We found Sail Inn by chance while out on a family adventure. We had a wonderful meal, and great service. Everything tasted fresh and good portions! I highly recommend :-) P.S. Amazing homemade chowder!!!
So far. Service has been good.... besides the appearance of our server (with half the kitchen on her shirt.) This must be the owner... the "Asian lady". Just finished my burger, the Hawaiian burger. Burger was good. Chowder... not quite like any other I've had. Smells better than it taste. Fish wa
Last time I was at Sail Inn, I had just stepped off the boat and wanted some good home-cooked fresh food. I was not disappointed. They make a great Seafood Pad Thai, Halibut fingers, shrimp noodle, even a great sandwich. I have eaten here 30-40 times and have never been disappointed. On your nex
On a rainy afternoon, my family and I ducked into an empty Sail Inn Cafe; other eateries along Bay Boulvevard were packed, this place was empty. The sole server was also the cook. The six of us pulled two tables together to make room for all of us and we were quickly provided menus. Our food orders
After checking out the crab boats and sea lions we stopped in for a drink. The Rita was fresh and served its purpose. The owner (very nice lady) took the time to chat with us. They specialize in Thia cuisine. We ordered the fish & chips and the clams in basil & chili plate. The fish was by far the f
Food was excellent! Great service. Cozy feel and right on the bay. The only drawback was the forks were slightly dirty and the place felt a little cluttered. But other than that the food as I said was great and the waitress/owner/cashier was very nice and quick to seat us. Had an overall good experi
We've been here many times over a few years. The food is the best, my wife an Asian islander says the Thai and seafood is superb. They will cook crab you buy from across the road at the dock. The Asian lady is the only person here, so service can be slow depending on how many people are here. No i
If you're looking for somewhere with amazing food and outstanding views, this is the place! Yes, it's a hole-in-the-wall, and yes, the service is fairly slow, but when one woman does EVERYTHING, what would you expect? Could use a good cleaning, but if the health department could close it down, they
The location is perfect. It's above a cafe but you don't really notice after it's closed. The views are great. Everything is within walking distance. You do hear the sea lions all night long but it's appropriate for the location. The apartment itself is a collection of old furniture that seems to be
There is a bit of wait, beacue the waitress/owner is also the chef, but oh was the wait worth it. Her fish and chips ending up being a fresh caught salmon, and the yellow curry seafood made us lick the bowl clean. The fries and popcorn shrimp are crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. We
The cafe is the best kept secret in Newport. A little bit bohemian at first, definitely the best nouveau Thai food that I've ever had. And very affordable! Try the yellow curry, or the Pad Thai. Both addictive! Or the fresh fish. Incredible! Wife says that the crab cocktail is the best!
Nice two-story little apartment! All the amenities.sauna, very comfortable upstairs queen size bed, twin bed and sofa. Downstairs queen-size futon . WiFi and cable, full kitchen dishwasher, microwave everything you would need for a weekend getaway or longer reasonably priced maybe a little extra fo
Contemplating on a location to eat, we happened upon Sail Inn Cafe. We have two young daughters and debated something simple. But settled, I'm glad we did, the food was amazing. She cooks everything fresh daily and they have the best clam chowder on the coast.
Very nice lady, cooks fresh fresh food. We’ve been to all the “nicer” restaurants in the area, this is one we will return too. Had a great fish taco meal (best I’ve had), pad thai and spring rolls were excellent.
