Prime Rib was delicious! tender meat, great fries . Even the brocolli was yummy good service
Bar was noisy and could be heard thruout the restaurant. Service was excellent. We split an order of Fish and Chips. As advertised, Best in Town. Better than some we had in England! No salt added, we added our own to taste the way we like it.
The food is good, but I was really upset when they removed the mozzarella log from the appetizer menu. The ambience is excellent and I love having a view of long island sound as I enjoy my food. Often the service is pretty slow which is the only downside. Buy I've enjoyed my experiences there
Ignore the other reviews, they're all a year or more old and don't reflect the Smarty's I visited today. There was only one person on the wait staff for an 11am lunch but he was prompt and courteous. The food that came out was fresh and delicious.

My cousin and I had lunch there, arrived about 1,:30 not a soul in the place. I ordered broasted chicken which was OK, baked beans were OK, coleslaw terrible, mashed potatoes tasted funny like they were going bad. Cousin had a Reuben and couldn't even finish it. Had alot of stomach problems at night
We have never had a bad meal here. Food is fresh, home-made, and delicious!! A lot of times you eat someplace with a large variety on the menu and it lacks in some areas.....not here! Everything is always awesome!
Very good food in a relaxed atmosphere. Smarty's has music several nights, big band, dixieland etc. Call to get schedule. Outside tables with water view (across Main St.) available in warm weather.
good, solid food, great prices, friendly wait staff. This isn't a fine dining experience, but it IS where locals go, year round, for dinner. Nice outdoor space, pretty view of the bay across the street.
First night in area and the restaurant was recommended. We enjoyed the fish and chips. The proportions were very large. The service was friendly and efficient. Prices a bit high.
So here's the real scoop. If you want to hang with the locals have a good time eat some decent food and drink, this is the place to go. Is it the Taj Mahal?no is it gourmet? No. It's a locals hang out and it does very fine as that
The chilli is huge, tasty and very reasonably priced. I'm a single man that eats out a lot. It's very hard to find better food with as friendly an atmosphere.
