Review Dickey's Barbecue Pit - Nixa

Great tasting BBQ our 1st time here, and Barney was very friendly and helpful. I got the 2 meat and my Mom got the lunch special. Burnt ends were fantastic.

Just had the brisket platter and it was really good, the meat was really tender and juicy. The jeans were really good also, and the waffle fries were cooked just right.

Wow! My hubby and I ate here for the first time and I can't wait to go back. I had the pulled pork, Mac n cheese and green beans and a roll..The pulled pork was perfectly salted, smoked, it was tender and perfection to me. Mac n cheese was classic and cheese sauce had a great body and flavor. The green beans provided a flavor bomb. Of course they tasted like green beans layered with the just the right amount of acidity, bacon layered with a smoked flavor. Even the roll was spectacular, a rich dense roll that was basted with lots of butter. My husband had the poultry plate with baked beans, coleslaw and a roll. He loved his meal too. I didn't have any as I was way too preoccupied with my own plate. Thanks to the team at Dickey's bbq pit! Food was tremendous as was the service.

Excellent staff and service! Food is always great! Cant say the same for the working conditions. Behind counter/lobby and dining areas are excessively warm even considering the heat. Rumor has it that the manager has refused to support staff by adding fans or cranking up the ceiling fans. Maybe the building owner needs to re-evaluate the HVAC system for the building. Staff looked miserable hot but they all were super nice and friendly. I was sweating just waiting for my to go order. And this isn't the only time that the counter lobby area was too hot. Management needs to do something cause now is not the time to loose great employees.

Love this place for consistently amazing food. Staff is always friendly and conversational.

I came in like a hurricane one evening having tried unsuccessfully to place an online order. The whole staff were gracious and helped me get what I needed, processed correctly, and out the door lickety split! They couldn't've been more willing to go out of their ways to right the errors of their website and after a long day of working, a 30-minute drive to get there, and the excruciating heat wave, I was especially grateful. The food was delicious and so much more than we could've hoped for! We will definitely be back and I hope the same folks will be working again because I know we will be in great hands!

Food is great, catering is horrible. We had Dickey's (Nixa, MO) cater an luncheon event for 140 people today. The food was great, but that was the only good thing. The manager of catering was driving the van and was to arrive at 11:30 to set up. They did not even leave their story, according to one of the helpers, until 11:30 and arrived after our event was to start. They were phoned three times and we were told they are minutes away. 140 people were left in a hallway waiting while they set up. It only took 20 minutes, but that was because we had half a dozen of our staff help carry the food in the building and set it up, otherwise the anniversary luncheon would have been 30 to 40 minutes late.<br/><br/>Worst yet, their attitude was one "we're sorry." And then they turned snippy and repeatedly blamed "traffic." Poor planning, poor execution, is not poor traffic.<br/><br/>Food rating = 10<br/>Service rating = -4 (lack of planning, lack of execution, inaccurate/dishonest reporting, snippy attitude about keeping 140 people waiting in a hallway).<br/><br/>Overall, probably a good place to eat in. AVOID, DO NOT let them cater!! Our experience was one of total disappointment and frustration.

Food was adequate. Management was not. Tried on two separate occasions, each time the service was subpar and the employees clueless, really. Don't be taken in on their Internet coupon scheme. No one seems to know what their specials are on any given day and then they charge you full price saying that the coupon is invalid. Even when I showed management the valid date, he wouldn't honor it. Said they weren't set up on the computer to accept it, for that day. Yeah, right! Oh, and the place was always filthy. No one bussed the dining area. Food left rotting on tables all around us our entire meal. Never again.

Real Hickory smell in the dining room. Smells like a real BBQ joint should smell and the food is excellent. The awards and trophies show they really know how to cook BBQ. The service was fast and friendly...even gave us a free sandwich card for our next visit.

Never again. Since returning to Nixa area we have tried Dickey's 4 times. The food has been good all four times. But every time we had to argue over the prices. One time they charged ala carte prices for dinners, the last time they charged $2 more per dinner than was posted on the board. On my mother's ticket they charged $38 for 2 seniors.

The best BBQ in Nixa. Dickey's is the best bbq in Nixa - the portions are a nice size, the flavor on the ribs and brisket was great. We ordered to go and ate at home, but the food tasted very good. The flavors are comparable to Famous Dave's, so if you like that, I think you will be happy with Dickey's.

Called in our order. It was not ready. Had to repeat the order 6 times. And they had it written down. The potatoe cassarole was mash potatoes. The meat was mushy like babyfood. I will not be back.
