The waist staff was attentive and knowledgeable, but not hovering, the crusty bread dipped in oil could have been a meal in itself and the Quattro formago chicken was the best chicken I have ever had, I seriously licked my plate. Large portions so I even got to lick my lunch plate the next day.

Simply amazing! Amazing atmosphere, amazing food, amazing service!!! You have to try the Tortellini Matteo’s, it is to die for! But there isn’t anything we have had that is anything less than spectacular!!! Especially the homemade desserts!
My husband took me out tonight here for our anniversary dinner. The food was amazing and our waiter Mark was wonderful. We enjoyed everything about this place. Thank you for the complimentary dessert and for the wonderful hospitality. We will definitely be coming back here again. We were so very pleased.
We had a fabulous experience while dining here for dinner last night. The food was delicious and the wine choices were great! Our waiter was attentive and polite too. I would highly recommend dining here.
I moved to Indiana ten years ago, and was disheartened by the dearth of interesting local flavour. On a whim we tried Matteo's, and I cannot sing enough praises. The bread was hearty, with a perfect crust, reminding of my grandmother's bread. The main courses were a beautiful mix of cunning layers of flavours, neither overpowering nor underwhelming, just bliss in every bite. The service was fabulous as well! I definitely encourage people to visit this little Noblesville gem!
We ordered carry out for a nice anniversary meal. We were told it would be ready to pick up in 15 minutes but it took a little while longer than that. The manager felt terrible and gave us our meal for free. It was absolutely amazing. We will be back and sincerely appreciate not only the great food, but the terrific service.
Great food, great service, one-of-a-kind atmosphere, in wonderful downtown Noblesville. Worth the drive from Anderson.
We had a private event for my daughters birthday and everything was perfect. Everyone was so friendly, easy to work with, they accommodated us in every way.... highly, highly recommend.
Amazing!!!...truly authentic and fresh Italian food. Pretty nice place and warm service. Creme brulee is a must. Can't wait to go back.
Excellent menu, great wine list. Prices decent. Great ambience. Wish we had one here in Muncie, IN
My husband and I love this place. Our first wedding anniversary we found this online and decided to try it out. We have been back for anniversary since and special celebrations as well as days we just crave it. The food is outstanding and the staff is always so nice! You won’t be disappointed!

Lovely lunch! We had the calamari panini and the prosciutto panini. Both were delicious. The bread was homemade and had just the right crunch. We decided to indulge in the limoncello dessert. It was wonderful!!! We'll be back for dinner!
Matteo's is the best Italian restaurant in the area! The service is excellent, the food is delicious, and they make celebrating special occasions extra special. Matteo's is also our go-to restaurant for when we have company from out of town.
Weekends are always busy, make a reservation!
Delicious meals, Lots of choices on menu, Daily specials are always tasty.
Staff has always been attentive.
A little on the expensive side however worth the trip.
Stopped in for lunch and was very pleased. Had shrimp over pasta with homemade marinara sause which was outstanding. The hot bread is homemade and served hot with their own dipping oil.
Can't wait to go back
It's a bit of a drive for me to get to Matteo's but it's always worth it. I've always had excellent, friendly service and outstanding food. The ambience and the decor is amazing. It's definitely worth the drive for me and it would be worth a visit for you if you like Italian food.
Half Fettucine Alfredo. Absolutely the best I have ever had!
Ate at Matteo's tonight with the family. What a cool, classy restaurant! I really like the cool old decor - high, stamped tin ceiling, faux granite columns. Service was good, food served quickly, prepared and presented well. The Pollo Wuatro Formaggio was delish and served as a large portion. I got stuffed and took 1/2 home. Fried calamari and the stuffed risotto balls were very good apps. The crusty bread was fresh, hot, fantastic! Served with roasted garlic olive oil, amazing. Also had a nice wine list. The beer was a bit bland but they did have a couple craft brews from near by Barley Island. This is a very nice restaurant - we'll be back.
So good!! This little spot is lovely. Their homemade chicken sausage will change your life. The dessert, pana cotta I believe, is too good to share!!
Wonderful Find!. I just got on here yesterday to find a nice fancy place to dine at last night, and based on the many good reviews decided to give Matteo's a try. Everything was fantastic: the location on the square in front of a clock tower, the romantic atmosphere inside, our friendly and knowledgeable server (John), our meals ( I had the chopped salad and Tortellini), and even a visit at our table from Chef Matteo himself to thank us for coming in. We'll be going back again this weekend!
Great place! Food was amazing and the service is second to none! Literally the best place in Hamilton Co for authentic Italian food. I recommend trying it if you have not.
Worth the visit. I was very pleased with the service, price, and quality of the food. Although I do wish they would get some better wines because the wine list they have is seriously lacking. I enjoyed the atmosphere, and every other aspect of the restaurant except for the wine, and I will be returning soon.
Have been coming here for years and have always had great service and food. Very authentic Italian fare. Go without hesitancy.
Second time there with our family, great food and drink..
We love Matteo's!!! Food is outstandingly true authentic experience! And the service? It is top-notch...ask for Kathy.
Perfect. This is the best italian restaurant I've been to. It's a very nice atmosphere and the servers are always very helpful. We had a holiday party there about four or five years ago, and were given the whole upstairs for private dining (we were a small office, no more than 20 people).
If you're looking for a nice, italian dinner, I'd suggest a trip to Noblesville to check this place out.
Great Authentic Italian. Had a wonderful evening out with my family. The wine list was very extensive but the knowledge of the staff helped me to navigate through both the wine list and the food menu. The menu was varied but simple. Great AUTHENTIC Italian food. As each dish is made to order, a little variation was not an issue. Will definitely return with business meetings or family.
Great Food, Great Service, Cool Location!. I love Matteo's, the food is wonderful and the decor is something out of an old movie. I really like the fact that it is owner operated too. The location on the historic square is an added plus...after dinner you can walk around, and not just through a parking lot to your car! I was there for a girls' night, and we had a blast. We will be back soon!
I ate at matteos for the first time Thursday. My waiter suggested a nice white wine to drink while dining outside in the heat. The lasagna was great and the linguine & white clam sauce was better. I would go back for sure
Since moving to Noblesville my goal has been to eat more locally! Matteo's was my first attempt! They have live entertainment, an excellent piano player and a singer, on Wednesday nights. At first, I felt slightly out of place in my shorts, tshirt and sandals! The atmosphere is fantastic! For starters they provide complimentary bread and olive oil! It was fantastic! It was not explained to us, and came as a shock, that the salads are not part of dinner and are seperately ordered. Our server never explained that to us, so we ended us paying an additional $15 for salads. That being said, they were amazing! I had the Chop Salad and my boyfriend had the House Salad. Knowing what we knw, we won't get the salads again; its not worth the $15. Dinner was a great surprise! I had the Tortelline Matteo and my boyfriend had the Spinach Ravioli. I wasn't impressed with my dish. I won't order it again. While it was filing, the Mushroom and Ham Sauce was overpowering and not extremely pleasing. When scraped off, it was better! The Ravioli was fantastic! It was perfectly done and just the right mixture. The sauce was excellent! We did order the Creme Brulee which is fired tableside...Skip it! It was alright, but not worth the $7. We will go back! It was a fantastic atmosphere and the food was very good! You can easily tell that the food is all home made! The quailty of the food you get certainly makes it worth thee cost! We were extremely pleased with our experience and the food. We just learned a few things for our next visit!

Great date night and date lunch place. My husband and I love it! Great family place too.
Very good. Our best friends and me and the hubs ate here when we took a train ride from Fishers to Nobelsville. The train called "The Hamiltonian" took us to the square and we chose before hand at which restaurant to eat at. The atmosphere is very nice and romantic. We had the calamari, which was fabulous. My friend had the linguini puttanesca, I had the torellini matteo's and the boys had some seafood and meat dishes. We all loved it!
Good Italian. The meal started out with complimentary bread and olive oil. This olive oil is infused with an interesting combination of herbs, and is on the spicy side. So, I thought it was very good. Our table also shared a serving of the calamari, and that was well-executed. A light crispy batter covering tender calamari.
Next for me was a serving of smoked salmon bisque. I did not pick up the smoke flavor like I thought I would, but the soup was very good nevertheless.
My main meal was rigatoni in bolognese meat sauce with a large beef and veal meatball stuffed with mozerella. The meat sauce was good. I have had richer ones that contained a heavier dose of cream, but this one was still good. The meatball was tasty, although my personal preference is for a lower ratio of veal. Still, it was good.
This was my second trip to this restaurant. Unfortunately, the last one was long enough ago I don't remember many details. I do remember enjoying the meal, though.
Overall, my ratings are:
Food: 3
Service: 2.75
Atmosphere: 2.75
****************
Explanation of rating scale:
1: Does Not Meet Expectations
2: Meets Expectations
3: Exceeds Expectations
4: Far Exceeds Expectations
So, on this scale, a 2 is a respectable score. 4s will be rare. (And hopefully so will 1s).
Grew up in NJ, alwys wished for "good" Foodd to remind me of home. This place is actaly better then what I grew up with. The only thing that is an issue: they do not have any dishes wher a part of two can eat fir under $30. I would love to see them offer basic foods at a lower price point. But again the food they make is GREAT.
I went to this restaurant with a group of people for lunch. The dinner menu is shown within this profile. The lunch menu is similar, but less expensive. I had the Filleto di bue Gorgonzola and it was perfect! Good service, too.
Great Place. Matteo's atmosphere is the first thing that hits you. It's a wonderful, historic old building on the courthouse square. The food is consistently good and high quality. We have no clear favorite dishes from the few times we have dined there. It's all been good!
This is one of my favorite places! Excellent food! My parents come from kentucky to eat here.
The food was AMAZING. Hands down best Italian restaurant I've been to. The Italian decor and atmosphere was very nice. Always has a special of the day. The waiter asks if you are there celebrating anything. Just so happened to be our anniversary and they brought out a complimentary dessert.
We came here with my family on May 2021 for dinner to celebrate cousin’s college graduation for nursing school at the Marian University. We had reservations.
Upon entry, the restaurant is a large size. It is gorgeous! Made me feel like I was in Italy. The ambiance and beauty was captivating. It’s not very loud, moderate noise. It is an Italian restaurant so you’d have to expect moderate to loud noise LOL!
We had reserved a table tucked in the corner with window views, almost floor to ceiling windows 🪟 Big windows. This space allowed for more privacy which was really pleasant. We were a family of six.
I had the Salmon Limone (don’t recall the price) $20 something I assume. Salmon sautéed in a delicate white wine-lemon sauce with capers. Served over Linguine pasta. That was super delicious! 😋Another family member had the Tortellini Matteo’s $19.00 which is a Cheese stuffed Tortellini pasta. Served over a creamy sauce with ham, mushrooms, onion and parmesan cheese. She said it was good but very filling. She saved half to take home. I didn’t take pictures of the other food ordered.
We tried some drinks. I don’t recall the names and I can’t locate it on the menu. They were delicious as well.
Our server was excellent. She made suggestions of what she knew was popular and delicious. I would definitely return.
One last thing, 20% Yelp check in discount when you dine in Monday-Thursday.
Matteo’s combines cozy, elegant, ambiance with friendly attentive service. The fresh bread and dipping oil are delicious as is the Chopped Salad. The homemade Ravioli Maria Rosa and Lasagna are our favorites. Great wine selection too. Prices are reasonable for the exceptional quality making Matteo’s perfect for various dining occasions. I highly recommend Matteo’s for an authentic Italian dining experience.
The food was fresh and delicious. Our first visit here. Our waiter didn't inform us of daily specials, but we heard the other two tables receive list from their waiter. Pasta is definitely made fresh and the spinach salad we got was tasteful. We'll be back for sure.
My mom had her wedding in the alley next to Matteo’s while they accommodated everything we needed. I can’t stress enough how perfectly they executed everything. We were blown away. The service was incredible. The food was by far the best food i’ve ever at at a wedding, and up there with the best pasta I have ever had in general. The space was beautiful and the staff helped so much to put everything together. I would recommend this place over and over, whether you are looking to host an event or simply just need a good meal. Thank you so much to everyone at Matteo’s for a perfect evening!!
So.. Most important.... Food was AMAZING! I had the special lasagna... Wife had the veal. Both dishes melted in our mouths. Best pomodoro sauce I have had in years! Delicious!
Great service from Dylan...servers all in formal attire. Very nice evening!
The Greatest Italian Restaurant in Indiana. I’ve been coming here for 10+ years— when i was a child and now as an adult. Jenn is the greatest server I’ve ever had at any restaurant! She is the epitome of hospitality and service. 10/10 A+++
First time here and service was awesome and so was the food and drinks! We will be back!
THE OLIVE APP & CANOLIS!! best Canolis in the city!! I've never had anything like the olives. Service was upscale but we weren't dressed up and didn't feel out of place.
Made reservations for valentine's day and neither of us had been here before. Parking spots were scarce, but we arrived early and didn't have too much of an issue parking. When you walk in you get an instant old Italian vibe and we knew it was going to be good. We had an appetizer of fried ravioli and what looked like mozzarella sticks but were actually fried mashed potato sticks (there's a fancy Italian word for this and I apologize I don't remember what it was called). The star of the appetizer though was the red sauce, it was delicious! For the main dish I had one of the specials which was pasta in a white sauce with crab, shrimp, and lobster. A stellar dish, and I'm not ashamed to tell you that after I ate all the pasta I scraped the sauce into my to-go container. Unfortunately we were too full for dessert, but we will be returning again, hopefully soon! I also have to recommend our server, Laura. She was very attentive and made our experience that much better.
Went here for the first time and it was excellent. Doug our waiter was outstanding and very courteous. They were extremely busy and it took a very long time to get our food but the wait was well worth it. The bread is excellent and I loved the penne pasta with Italian sausage. For the long wait they gave us dessert for free. The overall experience was exceptional. We'll definitely be back.
Matteo’s is our new number 1 restaurant—possibly in all of Indy-area! Wife and I went for a date night and were blown away. The atmosphere was classy but not stuffy (and surprisingly spacious). The service was amazing—they were kind, knowledgeable, efficient, and professional. And the food was absolutely delectable. I loved the bolognese, wife loved the parmiggiana, and we were both over the moon with the Tiramisu!!! Come here and enjoy the best Italian in the area!
Relaxing atmosphere in downtown Noblesville. Everything we tried was top notch: appetizers, salads, main dishes and desserts. Staff was accommodating and followed all social distancing rules - menus are virtual with QR codes. They do have paper menus if you don't have a phone. Outside dining is available.
Wine and beverage selection was amazing and dinner specialties were plentiful. Prices were higher than Olive Garden type Italian chains but you can taste the higher quality immediately. An excellent choice and I highly recommend.
The food was incredible fresh the owner came to the table nice touch in today's world of suffering silence dining highly recommend these guys it was my first time surprisingly definitely will be back
We visited Matteo’s in July 2023 for our anniversary. It had been probably 10yrs since the last time we ate here. Unfortunately the food quality just didn’t seem the same. The lasagna was mushy and covered in what tasted like canned tomato soup. My wife’s pasta was bland and flavorless. The service is all that saved this from a 3-star review.
What a gem! Tried this little place nestled down town Noblesville on a Monday evening for my birthday. It was a whole vibe; quiet, warm elegant and the food was AMAZING!! They serve wonderful warm bread with a dipping oil. I had the Penne Alla Ortolana and added chicken. It was so rich and flavorful. Everyone at my table loved their dishes and the service was excellent! Delighted to find this Italian restaurant! I will be back.
We had a wonderful experience with our family. First time any of have been here. Our waitress was on it. The atmosphere screamed excellence. Dishes where all prepared properly. Our calamari appetizer was soooo delicious.
4th time visitor. Always impressive. This Filletto di blu gorgonzola is a 10 star kind of dish. 8 oz filet baked in a puff pastry. Served with a side of asparagus, roasted pine nuts, and a side of gorgonzola cream sauce. The flavors are distinct and lively. Much better than I thought it would be and I thought it would be great.
Friday night @7p - MAKE RESERVATIONS. We're glad we did. Wait staff was efficient. The lemoncello drink was fabulous.
