Food is delicious although we ate light. Highly recommend the pumpkin soup-spicy, sweet and savory.

Not worth it. The food was good, not great. There are other review about the desert being amazing and that much is true.
The service was so slow it become a running joke at our table. While the waitress was very polite, there was not enough traffic through that restaurant for her to take as long as she did. The wait between courses felt like forever. And we waited at least 30 minutes after all plates were cleared for our check.
Also, my beef was over cooked, which is a cardinal sin for me. I would have sent it back, but I'm not convinced it would have come before closing time.

Good restaurant. Amazing view. Our first visit to the restaurant was for Norfolk's Restaurant Week. From the limited menu we chose the pumpkin soup and Caesar salad for first courses. The pumpkin soup is amazing, with just enough sweetness brought on by the cinnamon croutons. The Caesar salad was just a Caesar salad.

Main courses consisted of the steak rounds and flounder. The steak was good, but the flounder was amazing, served with a lemony, wine sauce. Yum.

Desserts were also excellent. Vintage Kitchen serves a double drunk bread pudding that is some of the best I've ever eaten. And the chocolate parfait was also heavenly.

Wonderful. We went for Valentine's Day, and they made a special Aphrodisiac menu. We were a bit skeptical at first, but it turned out to be the best meal that we've had in a long time. The owner/chef waited on us, and very carefully explained every course to us. The ambiance was fantasatic, as was the view. We are definitely going back, and this is teh first time I was impressed enough by a restaurant to write a review.

A Hidden Gem in Norfolk. This place is a hidden gem in Norfolk. The service was exceptional, menu had lots to choose from and great ambiance. I loved the music that was playing - a bit of Astrud Gilberto a bit of Sinatra - very fitting for the place!

Two meals of tenderloin were not cooked to our liking and we had to send them back to the kitchen. Otherwise a great dining experience with our family and friends!

By far the BEST restaurant in Hampton Roads!!!. Gorgeous views! Such a stylish restaurant!

For the past few times I've been in, it's been incredibly busy, but I love being there even more when it's quiet. Every dish has been nothing short of spectacular. I get incredible cravings for the Truffle Mac and Cheese and the Caesar Salad.

On my most recent visit, I went with a group of girlfriends. The food and cocktails were amazing. Chef Thomason was in the dining room and actually took time to explain each of our courses- What a treat!

I travel all the time, to New York especially, and I love that this restaurant takes me back to the city for the night. Vintage Kitchen is by far the best restaurant in Hampton Roads!!!

I expected good and I got better. This was lunch, business people with an hour or so. Rappahannock soup was quite good however, I think there was salmon in it. The pumpkin soup was tasty however a little too salty. My Carnegie (Reuben Sand) was very good also very reasonable with a salad or soup called half-and-half. The Caesar salad was nice looking and fresh the caprice sand had a fat piece of cheese on it also looked very good. Upscale lunch with a killer view. Great staff also

Unexpectedly good. I had never even heard of Vintage before, yet my wife and I had the pleasure of dining here for the first time last night with several of our close friends. The entire experience was nothing short of amazing. The restaurant itself was not crowded, there were maybe two other groups aside from ourselves. Our Waitress, Katie, was simply amazing, very knowledgeable and made excellent recommendations on the menu. Our group enjoyed the five cheese platter, a very fine sampling of native Virginian cheeses. I myself had the five spice duck, my wife enjoyed the catch of the day, and we shared an order of the mashed potatoes. Each dish was outstanding! My hats off to the chef, duck is a very hard dish to do right, and you sir are truly a master of your trade. The desert portions are thankfully small, yet ample enough that my wife and I were able to share one. The only detractor is that the scotch was slightly more expensive then I had anticipated. Aside from that, everything was amazing and far exceeded my expectations.

Response To Review. Dear Jessica - Thanks for the honest criticism. I remember your table well, and I am truly sorry that you weren't able to enjoy yourselves that evening during your graduation celebration. As you noted, it was an exceptionally busy evening, and since your last guests arrived very late, it was very difficult to serve you in a timely manner given the needs of our other guests arriving on time for their scheduled reservations. We certainly could have scripted a later reservation for your group which I have no doubt would have made all the difference for you. I had certainly tried several times to begin service for you, but you were either on your phone or outside the restaurant each time I did. As a former server yourself, you should know how difficult that makes facilitating a guest's experience. While your first two guests were waiting for you to return to the restaurant, they finally ordered a cheese plate, two glasses of water, and your diet coke which unfortunately must have sat on the table for several minutes at least while you were talking on your phone outside, explaining the lack of carbonation. Regarding the grilled bread that accompanied your cheese plate: simple mistake, and you're absolutely right, it should not have gone out to the table. However, since it was arranged on the plate with that side down, there was no way for the server who delivered your plate to know that it had been grilled for too long on that side - an easy correction of course, as we simply brought more bread for your table which took a few minutes to grill again. If it eases your mind, that particular cook, who had just started that evening (first job out of culinary school - go figure), was given a formal written warning the following day. I'll note that of the 117 guests that we served that evening, you were the only one who was seemingly so offended, and you were also the only group that was late in sitting down for their reservation. In fact, the couple celebrating their anniversary that had been seated next to you (that had asked to move tables) enjoyed themselves so much that evening that they've come in twice since that night. Again, I'm sorry you had a less than positive experience, but there are two sides to the story. Would you expect timely service if you showed up late for a Doctor's appointment? Attorney? Hairdresser even? In those situations, you can only do the best you can given the difficult circumstances. That said, while I again appreciate your honest criticism, I also find it uncharacteristically unfair and malicious to post that kind of spiteful criticism in such a public forum. However, in the spirit of hospitality and graciousness, please allow me to make it up to you by sending me your address, and I would be more than happy to offer you a gift certificate to help us win you back. Sincerely, Phillip Craig Thomason Chef/Owner. . . and occasional Server, Bartender, Sommelier, PR Agent, Architect, Interior Designer, Photographer, Accountant, Dishwasher, Janitor, Landscaper, and Organic Farmer. ps... Happy Graduation!

The Vintage Kitchen. We had a retirement party at TheVintage Kitchen with 20 people and the service, food and atmosphere was awesome.

We had one server for the whole party who took drink and food orders and remembered everything. So if you are ever going to have an event at the Vintage Kitchen (which I highly recommend), make sure to request Jimmy as your server.

There was no need to take a vote on this one. Hands down best Mac and Cheese ever. Truffle can be a powerful flavor and is frequently overdone, ruining many a great dish. Not so here. This was rich and creamy decadence.  We would go there again and jus
