I got to this place a few minutes before they closed. I didn't know they closed at 8pm. I felt bad once I realized it. The gentleman that took my order knew it was my first time shook my hand and welcomed me. So great service!!! Now the food.. The food was amazing!!! I am a very picky eater and I loved everything I got. They had a lemon cake that melt in your mouth. I wish I found this place sooner. The waitress was also super nice and helpful.

There are several BBQ places in Norman but this is the best in my book. It has a home-style atmosphere, decent amount of seating, the owner is very friendly, and the food is decent portions and delicious!
The best BBQ in Norman, and it's not even close. Outstanding chopped beef sandwich and a very friendly staff. It's a once a week stop for us at the bare minimum.
We always look for Diners, Drive-Ins or Dives when we travel. Ray's was our pick in Oklahoma. Ribs so tender, the meat fell off the bone, smoked to perfection. Great sides, too. Service was friendly and fast. Highly recommend.
Ray's is the best BBQ and has amazing service! We love dining at a locally owned restaurant and seeing the owner and his family taking care of their customers! Don't miss this local spot!
came to Norman to take my mom to run some errands and since I was in the neighborhood her and I decided to stop by to get some food, and man, the food is still just as good now as it was 15-20 years ago when my mom worked for Darryl before Ray's Smokehouse BBQ was even around! It was also so nice to be able to catch up and chat with Kendall!
I suggest Rays the roof sandwich with brisket and hot links. Delicious with the hot bbq sauce and that makes this my favorite BBQ restaurant. My dad drives from OKC to eat especially the collard greens which he says are the best he's had. Mr. Ray(former elite football player for the sooners) always makes rounds to ensure his guest are taken care of.
I love Ray’s. I’ve never had a bad meal here. All the sides are great! All the meats are great! I don’t always get it because everything is so good, but the smoked bologna is excellent. And the cake!
Ordered the chopped brisket dinner mac-n-cheese,and beans!!!!! Loved it. My new BBQ place great food and great service
The most awesome ribs and brisket I every ate at. The wifey and I was very please of service we got there and also the food was amazing I tell everyone about this place we wil definitely coming back soon!!!
The food here was amazing , brisket to die for , my son in law Ashton said I just HAD to eat here , he was right !
Never once had a bad experience here. All of the food is amazing! I could eat the brisket and smoke house beans every day!!
Rays BBQ is one of the best places to eat in Norman! Went there for lunch on my birthday and the were so friendly and personable. The food was excellent and they gave me a piece of cake for my birthday! Will be going back soon!!
I have a bunch of "Northeners" at my house, they wanted good Okie BBQ. I told them, this is by far the best bbq in Oklahoma. What was also very cool is one of them is a huge Jets fan and he got to take a picture with Darrol Ray.
I’ve passed Ray’s BBQ a thousand times but just tried it today... Wow! Delicious brisket, smokehouse beans (perfect sweet flavor), and mac n cheese (homemade every day). I will definitely be back - repeatedly!
I've been to Van's, Billy Sim's and Rib Crib, so it was time to try Ray Smokehouse BBQ. It's a very unassuming place, and the construction that's been going on down Lindsey can deter even the most devout BBQ enthusiast, but make the effort. You'll be greeted with the undeniable smoky smell of BBQ, and we were also welcomed by a very nice and helpful worker at the register. She told me they were most know for their ribs and brisket, so I chose the 3 meat plate, with sliced and ribs, along with hot sausage. For my sides, I selected Smokehouse Beans, which I was told was a specialty and collard greens, also recommended. The ribs were as advertised! They came of the bone clean, but didn't crumble, and had really good flavor, any knock would be that they weren't very smoky. The sliced brisket was also good, but very lean, and I prefer brisket more moist. The sausage was sliced thin, and a generous portion and the beans tasted like a sweet chili - which I used as a dip for my Texas toast. The collards were very good! Not bitter or sour, very savory and cooked down well to absorb tons of flavor. I liked it all, but will definitely be back for the ribs.
I often travel Lindsey Street passing Rays Smokehouse and wondering about the quality of the barbecue. Well, today I found out! The ribs were very meaty, moist, and tender; and the sauce was devine. I will be making repeated trips to enjoy this restaurant.
I haven't eaten here in a while but I can always tell a great smokehouse when you can eat the meat without sauce. Everything is great and the sides as well. Not too expensive. Well worth it!
We love eating here weekly as a family! Great food. Love the BBQ bacon cheeseburger. Love the sausage and pulled pork! It is all so wonderful. And the family that owns it are very sweet and personal!
This place has the best smoked half chicken money can buy. The ribs are hit and miss. I've had excellent ones and ones that were just ok. Their prices are high, but all good BBQ comes with a price. Their home made Mac n Cheese is hands down the best I've ever eaten. The young girl behind the counter can be a priss, but most are these days.
This is a very tasty place to eat. Prompt and friendly. Husband had brisket and enjoyed it along with the macaroni. Mine was chopped brisket sandwich with fries. Very tender and fries nice and hot.
My first impression was how busy the place was. It was lunch rush but service was friendly and kept up. This place came highly recommended for the Norman area so I tried a 3 meat combo to give it a good run. I got chopped pork, sliced brisket, and ribs. The chopped pork came unsauced (which I like). All 3 meats were quite tender. The baby back ribs were as advertised - extremely tender, in fact almost too tender. They immediately fell off the bone. The one thing off putting was that it was all void of seasoning/rub/etc. It all had some smoke flavor, but no additional flavor enhancements. I can appreciate the flavor of good meat, but I expect some flavor augmentation when shelling out for BBQ prices. My side options were fries and beans. The fries were normal and the beans tasted almost identical to the famous black can Ranch Style beans. Thankfully both the mild and hot sauces were good so they added flavor to the tender yet moderately bland meat. Good experience, but a little spice goes a long way, Ray.
Every time I go to OKC I come here, and only here. It's my first meal, my last meal.
I love the chopped brisket sandwich. But the ribs are awesome also, well everything is awesome here. You can't go wrong!
The staff is always friendly, and we love that there is a picture of myself and my sisters on the wall still!
Great tender brisket and great service!!!
Best in town.. The price is worth the BBQ here. Ray's is the best place in Oklahoma that i have found.
Best barbecue around. We have tried barbecue in a number of cities and Ray's beats them all. The quality of meat is always good and they don't drown it in barbecue sauce; you can put as much or as little as you like. I've yet to find a barbecue place as pleasing as Ray's.
Very good food! Clean, great atmosphere, friendly people. I recommend this place.
Lunch is always special.. I honesty cannot live without eating at Ray smokehouse BBQ. I currently live in Edmond and every time I'm in Norman it's a must for me to stop and eat here. The owner and the staffs are super friendly. and the food is Delicious. I would recommend this restaurant for any occasion because you'll leave here not only with your stomach full but also with a smile.
A Birthday Tradition. Every year, my son's special birthday dinner is Ray's. I've adopted the practice as well for my birthday. They have the best ribs in town, hands down. AND the best mac and cheese I have ever had anywhere. And when they call their hot bbq sauce hot, they mean it!
The best!. I drive 60 miles round trip for the Q and staff is friendly. Ribs, brisket outstanding!

Wow!!. Outstanding! The Ribs literally fall off the bone.... And the barbecue sauce is amazing! The Hot Links have the perfect amount of flavor and heat. The Smokehouse beans and Mac and Cheese are delicious! The perfect meal!
I eat at Ray's one a week if not more and would eat there every day if I could. Best ribs I've ever had and everything else is awesome.
Ray's the roof ....delicious. Smoked chicken and turkey delicious and low cal. Staff very friendly. Homemade dessert and Mac and cheese. Go... It is best BBQ in Norman . Even out of football team ordered from here. Would be good on game day for your tailgate. We got the smoked brisket for our tailgate and everyone loved it.
I came with a party of 20 right before close. The staff was very friendly considering we showed up so late, and the food was excellent! Great service, and great food. Hands down my new favorite BBQ place.
Delightful atmosphere....excellent food. I especially liked the hot links!
BEST BBQ in OK. This is, hands down, the best BBQ in Oklahoma.
Get the "Ray's the Roof" with pulled pork and sliced brisket! You won't be disappointed...
Consistently Good. I've been here a few times and even though there isn't anything very memorable that jumps out to me on any of the occassion, I remember each time being a good experience that keeps me coming back. Their strength lies in their meats really. I've had their Chopped Brisket, Smoked Half-Chicken and Hot Links. All were pretty tasty and served hot. I love their Smoked Half-Chicken the most. The meat is so tender and moist. It's very flavorful and succulent. The Hot Links isn't that bad at all either if you want something with a little bit of spice. One of the best things they have is what they call their BBQ Bread. It's basically a piece of texas toast that's been buttered and toasted somehow or something. It's pretty darn good. Just give me that BBQ Bread, some meat and a side or two and I'm good to go.The sides I've tried are their Fried Okra, Seasoned Green Beans, Corn Cobbette and Smokehouse Beans. Of those 4 I've tried, I will probably end up getting the Corn Cobbette or Smokehouse Beans again. The Fried Okra is generic - just like what you get from anywhere else. The Seasoned Green Beans tasted just like they came out of the can. I never ordered this again because of that but if someone else tells me they've change it and it doesn't taste like it came out of the can I'd gladly try it again. Another side that I've seen and thought about getting is their Homemade Mac n Cheese. But I'm glad that I didn't because a friend of mine did and he only had a taste and never touched it again. Just by looking at it, it didn't seem that appealing to me at all. The Corn Cobbette is basically just corn on the cob. Can't mess that one up really. The Smokehouse Beans isn't amazing or anything, but it's one of the better sides I've had.
Overall, come for the meats and the BBQ Bread. Maybe even dessert. There's this sliced cake that I keep seeing people get with their order. I was tempted to try it but didn't want to end up being too stuffed the last time I went. Maybe next time.
Best in town, hands down. Best BBQ in Norman. If I find a better place, I'll revise my estimate, but it just doesn't seem likely.
11-2 for lunch specials. I try to visit in-between classes.
You must try their mac-&-cheese; it's almost like lasagne w/o meat or tomato.
I think the only advertising they need is to put a big fan behind the shop to waft the smell towards the OU campus.
Grade: A. We had a group of about twenty, in town for a memorial service. Not a single soul was less than pleased with their meal at Ray's Smokehouse. Many had brisket, including myself, and we found it to be smokey tasting, yet tender, and the available sauce was popular. Several had ribs which they said met Ray's claim that you don't need teeth to eat it. One son-in-law had a spicy sausage sandwich which he raved about, and a couple of light-eating young granddaughters ate their entire corn dog. Clean, pleasant setting, excellent service. Very reasonably priced. Grade A!
Fantastic beef brisket!! Everything was excellent and they cheerfully accommodated my family of 30. I intend to return someday, hopefully soon.
I Approve This Restaurant. Went to Ray's before the game. I had the three meat dinner with chicken, ribs, and brisket. All three were good, but the brisket was the best. The meat was tender, moist, and the flavor was delicious. The beans were very tasty and I thought the potato salad was good as well. The place is clean, the staff is helpful, and the owner played for the Sooners! What more could you ask for? That the Sooners play better than they did after my meal.
Love it. I love Ray's BBQ Sliced brisket sandwich and you can't forget to get collard greens and the homemade mac n cheese along with the XXX hot BBQ sauce (the best)!
Decent and cheap. Cheap food. Decent flavor. Not overly fancy and not top-shelf barbecue, not a drive out of the way for place, but good enough if you're in the area due to the low price. Needs a spicier sauce.
Ray's isn't just the best BBQ in Norman, it's the best in Oklahoma. I've tried joints all across the state and you won't get more fresh food or friendlier staff anywhere. Mr. Ray and and his family do a great job. I just wish they could expand and open more stores!
Everyones had good BBQ and everyone has a favorite from their hometown. But after eating at rays hands down I have a new favorite and love for BBQ. Hotlinks are amazing pulled pork is juicy and the ribs melt in you mouth. The owners and staff are also rememberable and go out of their way to make u feel like your at home.
Great Food In a Gas Station?. I admit, I said NO when my husband said we should try Rudy's. I don't typically like to eat at a place that also sells gas. But, a good friend of mine, who I think has pretty good taste told me about Rudy's in TX. Could it be the same place? Yes, it was, right here in Norman, OK. So, I told me husband we could go and it is the best food I have found in Norman since I have been year (1 year). It is fun, they have sweet tea, they have great BBQ and it is an institution. The brisket is great, the turkey is delish and I like the "half hot" too. And for dessert, I suggest the banana pudding. The only difficult part is that they don't have a great menu for kids, so last time I brought in my own food for my two four-year olds (the employees didn't seem to mind) and it was great. One of the ladies told me that they did have grilled cheese for kids which I have not seen on the menu, but it is good to know. Go, try it, even if you have a rule about eating at a gas stations -- it is worth it.
Worth a stop. Not the best i've ever had , But always make time for Ray's when passing thru at lunch time....I've had it all and have yet to get a bad meal Thanks Ray.
Not a huge BBQ fan but the hubby is. Tried every place in Norman. This is by far the best.
Best BBQ in Norman. I throughly enjoy eating at Ray's, I've tasted the sliced brisket, chopped brisket and most of the sides. Even the sliced brisket salad was delicious and they added lots of meat. The food is homemade and seems like this Family business makes their food with nothing but love. I would definitely recommend this restaurant for some good BBQ!!!
Got to BBQ. Great BBQ with a very nice staff. Take out or dine in it is worth it!
Not as good as all the hype, but I loved the okra. The turkey was ok, the chopped brisket was good. My husband said he wouldn't come back. I definitely would.
How many people would deliver on Thanksgiving so your Thanksgiving food is amazing? Well, Ray's Smokehouse did and it was amazing! Any time I crave BBQ or need it for a catering opportunity or just to feed a bunch of family, Ray's Smokehouse will be who I use. The food as amazing, the customer service was off the charts! Great Food . .. my choice forever
Norman's Tried and True BBQ!!!. I'll be totally honest with ya, if you want great, one of a kind barbecue, not the chain stuff you can get all over Oklahoma (and Texas), friendly staff, and an overall pleasant dining experience, then Ray's is the place for you! I've been going there since I arrived in Norman in May, and from the moment that smoke smell hits you, you know you're in for a treat. You really can't go wrong with anything you order, and the staff is friendly and efficient as well. Ray's also has a catering service, and will be open for Thanksgiving as well. This place is the real deal, no frills... the proof is definitely in the pudding. Can't wait for my next trip... RAY'S THE ROOF!!!
The best BBQ in the area including Oklahoma City. Excellent ribs, quick service and friendly staff. They were very tender and flavorful. And chatting with Darrol Ray was a bonus.
Fantastic. Loved the chopped brisket, ribs, Mac & cheese and okra. The service was fast and staff was friendly. Can't wait to go back!
Let down.... I admit I came in expecting a lot because this place had been hyped by friends. And while I really wanted it to live up to it -- it wasn't even close. That's not to say the BBQ is bad because it isn't. But I expected greatness and got merely serviceable.
All of the meat was overcooked yet lacked much smoke flavor. The ribs were the best item I had from Ray's. There was some smoke to compliment the rub and a nice bark. But no pull from the bone, the mean just fell off (which it isn't supposed to do). These were close to very good. The brisket was good but again, the pull test reveals, overcooked. The pulled pork was actually chopped and quite bland and, again, overcooked and ultimarely quite disappointing.
The sauce was necessary for all the meat and shouldn't be. It should be a compliment, not the main flavor.
Sides I had were the beans -- too much cumin with what appeared to be kidney beans and the mac 'n' cheese which was a bit mealy and not cheesy in the way we expect from classic, home-cooked mac 'n' cheese.
The bottom line here is I know too many people who speak too highly of Darrol Ray and his barbecue to not give it another chance. I may have hit the place on an off day. If there's a good time to get good 'cue it's on a Saturday at lunch -- I'll try it then.
Ray's is some good stuff. Okay, so I like to compare restaurants it to places I have already eaten and Ray's is by far some of the best bbq I have eaten in a while. Better than Billy Sims, Dickeys, or Rudys. I had the two meat dinner with chopped beef (a good, helping of it) and three ribs (when someone says fall-off-the-bone they mean these) with two sides: mac and cheese (eh, it was okay, could use more cheese) and southern-style potato salad (holy cow this is the best, like when I was a kid). Definitely recommend and will go back. We like Rib Crib but Rays is cheaper and the portions were huge. Three ribs doesn't sound like a lot but by the time I finished them I was forcing myself to finish the brisket. The sides are a good size portion so we left fully satisfied.
YUMMY. That's all I can say. Their homemade mac n cheese us killer, their smoked sausage sandwiches are a dream, and the fries are fabulous. No, your cardiologist won't approve of this place! It's downright delicious bbq though people. GO!
Great BBQ - NOT greasy. Somehow missed this place over the years but now it is a regular stop. food was outstanding! very lean not greasy and full flavor meats. awesome sides that were for sure homeade.
Best BBQ in Norman. Both me and my wife love this place. They have the best meat in Norman.
Best Bar-B-Q in Norman. Excellent bar-b-que, best in Norman and some of the best I've ever had. Try the homemade macaroni and cheese, its unreal.
The staff and owners are great... cant say enough good things about this place.
Wow!!!. We found Ray's on Urbanspoon and decided to check it out. the restaurant was casual but very inviting, the staff (The family that owns the place) was incredibly pleasant. The entire place just made you feel welcome. We ordered the ribs and they were absolutely delicious, the home made BBQ sauces were also fantastic. We loved it so much we ordered another batch to take home. Best Rib joint near OKC. Will definitely go back many, many times...
Some of the Best BBQ I've ever tasted!. Ray's was a great surprise! All of the bbq offerings and sides were totally off the chain!! The ribs were fall of the bone great! the brisket was very tender and great smoke flavor and the fried okra was seasoned and perfectly crispy, the mac and cheese has to be the best I've had in the last 10 years and the collard greens were good as well. And all of that for $11.00!!! The smoke flavor really comes through in the chicken, ribs, turkey and sausage. I could eat there everyday if I lived in Norman! Please visit Ray's you wont regret it!
Great BBQ & Dessert. The BBQ is delicious and the homemade dessert was excellent as well.
Delicious. Reasonably priced. Great staff.
Finally! Good BBQ!. My friend and I were commiserating the other day about the lack of really good bbq joints in town and how when you're in the mood for barbecue nothing else will do. I've now found a place that does it well -- Ray's. We sampled ribs, pulled pork, sliced brisket and smoked sausage. All were tender and juicy. The mac & cheese is billed as homemade and, if it wasn't, they fooled me. It was just what I remember my mother making (and maybe even better).
Wonderful, friendly service and pretty good prices. We've now found a new home when the barbecue bug hits us!
Best BBQ in Norman. I moved here from Kentucky a few years ago and have been searching for some great pork BBQ and I found it at Ray's. It's like being back in the south again with the sweet tea, the mustard potato salad and the delicious pulled pork sandwich. Around these parts all I can find is beef BBQ (and Ray's has that too) but what I really love is pork and Ray's is the best if found west of the Mississippi. The owner and the staff are always friendly and I feel like my business is appreciated. Sure the building is an old Pizza Hut and there's definitely nothing fancy about the atmosphere but that's the way I like my BBQ joints. It's always clean and I always leave feeling like I just had the best dinner of my life. My favorite place in Norman.
Rodney P.. Great BBQ and Great Owners! Some of the Best BBQ served in Oklahoma. Food is fresh, service can't be beat, very clean Restaurant! Can't get enough of Ray's BBQ.
Best in town. This place is by far the best BBQ joint in norman.
the chopped pork is my favorite. i've tried it all, and it's all good.
i have to recommend the cake, especially the "two ton". it's amazing.
there are only 2 weaknesses to ray's: the turkey is often served cold, and Van's fries are better. other than that, this place is excellent.
Really good. I like everything except their goofy plates.
You either get a rigid plastic plate with a paper liner, or a basket with a paper liner. I like a lot of sauce. And before I can finish a meal, the paper liner is coming apart. Have to be careful not to eat any paper with the food. Tried taking the paper out first one time. These weird plates have holes around the outside edge. So, I made a nice, big mess from dripped BBQ sauce out the plate holes by the time I was done. Ray ditch the plates and get something better. Love the food. Been there 12+ times.
Thanks Urbanspoon. My daughter and I discovered Ray's thanks to my Urbanspoon app. Delicious pork sandwich, not fatty. I really liked the hot bbq sauce. The green beans and cole slaw were good, too. Super nice folks!! Restaurant was clean. We will definitely be frequent eaters at Ray's!
!st time.. Went to Ray's For dinner after a very poor experience at another restaurant for lunch. Everything was very good. Everyone's opinions about the ribs are true..they were very tasty. Best part about the visit was Friendly cashier taking our order and Ray coming by to ask us how everything was. Being treated like your business is valued and appreciated is a standard at Rays. Wish I had my fancy wasted lunch dollars back so I can order some Fall of the bone ribs! The homemade desserts are also very moist and tasty and bargain too!
Best Ribs & Mac N' Cheese in town!!!
Brisket & Ribs=Good; Mac N' Cheese=Bad. First off, the lady at the counter was really nice, and it being our first time in she answered our questions and was very helpful. So, kudos to her. We got our order to go, and it was pretty reasonable, $45 for 2 people, with plenty of meat left over for sandwiches the next day.
The brisket was awesome, very smokey. The BBQ sauce (hot) was unique, not what you get in a jar, and was really good with the meat. The ribs were out of sight, and after a few minutes they literally were out of sight and in my belly. I could have just had the ribs and been fine.
The mac n cheese is homeade, but it has a weird, grainy and curdled texture/look. It was also very oily (tiny pools of oil on the surface when we took off the lid), Kraft is better in my opinion. The green beans are out of a can, but they put bacon in it so I will forgive them.
We didn't get to try the bread or okra, but maybe next time.
Best BBQ in Norman. Love Rays! Always clean, owner on premises. The food is great, never have to wait. Mr. Ray is very friendly and courteous as are all of the employees. The servings are generous (way more for your money than Billy Sims) and the smokehouse beans ROCK!
Simply the Best. What do I want when the barbeque bug bites me? Ribs, of course, nice meaty ones and good HOT bbq sauce to add. Pluses? Great green beans that are so fine you want to turn vegetarian. Enter Ray's. I'd never even heard of St.Louis style ribs before. They're like the girl with big bones ... on them bones is big meat! Don't even get me started on the beans other than so say "quart sized". Ray always comes out to personally see that you are pleased. I'm not saying it's perfect, but trust me, they will make it right and personally, it's always been out of this world for me.
Good stuff and reasonably priced. Terrific sliced brisket, fried okra and beans. And don't skip the desert. Mrs. Ray makes the BEST cake!
Ray's BBQ. They do it right. I'll have to say, however, it's nothing special. But sometimes the best places don't do anything special, the do things right all the time.
Khill. Maybe I just have to go back during the dinner rush. I went at noon on Saturday and the food was just OK. I ordered ribs and brisket and all of it was dry. Tender but dry. The ribs were tiny and mostly bone and the brisket was ultra thin sliced which is what you need to do when you dry it out. It all needed sauce in order to make it palatable. Loved the beans but the rest was average at best.
YUMM. I love this place. The ribs, brisket, mac and cheese and the green beans are amazing.

Ms Sibert. BEST BBQ in METRO. There is NOTHING I was disappointed in. Tried many many many places. Prices are fantastic and the atmosphere is wonderful. I have yet to find a BBQ place that compares. ABSOLUTELY LUV IT !!
Odd-ladies have to ask for a key to use the restroom! This is a bit of an annoyance, but the food was ok-lean ribs, not the best, but good.
If you like BBQ, I would highly recommend this place. It was my first time to eat there and the food is great.
Smoked turkey is best I've ever had. Get plenty on your plate.
Best ribs I have ever had, Darrell is a great guy that really makes you feel at home, nothing fancy, just great food.
BEST BBQ in Norman. Buy far the best BBQ in Norman. Prices are fair. But the food is great. You have to have a piece of Momma Ray's Strawberry Cake. On top of that he played football for Oklahoma Sooners and New York Jets. All pro and his food is all pro. Stop in and See D.R.. you won't be disappointed.
I had seen positive reviews in local Facebook groups about Ray's and decided to try it out. I knew it would be good when we pulled into the parking lot at noon on a weekday and the place was packed.
The food was excellent. We both got the 4 rib dinner and fries, I got the potato salad and my husband got the Mac and cheese for our other side. They may not have been the absolute best ribs that I have ever had but they are definitely in the top 3. Added with the spicy BBQ sauce and they come pretty close to being #1.
They are a bit pricey, for the two of us with a tip it came out to about $35 but I highly recommend trying them. We will definitely be going more often now.
Fantastic food, great service and friendly people. I try to go once a week. Try the Ray’s the roof sandwich with links and brisket. The ribs are always tender, flavorful and don’t need sauce. Baked potatoes are always on point. BEST BEANS IN OKLAHOMA DON’T MISS THEM.
I have to say it's the best BBQ that I have ever eaten. And the place was packed and the food got to me really quickly. You need to try it out very well worth the trip just awsume.
Fantastic BBQ, their beans are really tasty. Turkey basically falls apart and brisket was so good. Highly recommend. Fried okra is definitely a must have!
I had not been to Oklahoma for nearly 30 years. When I did live there the barbecue was amazing. So on this trip back I made sure to stop in Norman to check out the barbecue places..I ended up at Ray's and it did not disappoint. I went for lunch and it was really busy but the staff and servers were very efficient Very highly recommended!!
Stopped in here while in town. It’s conveniently located on Lindsey St about 3 miles from I35. The crew is welcoming and provided good recommendations. My friend had the 3 meat combo dinner; ribs & double sliced brisket with collard greens and Mac & cheese. He apparently liked it; was devoured quickly lol. Brisket was moist and ribs as well and tender. I had the Rays-The-Roof Combo sandwich with chopped brisket and sliced hot links and side of potato salad. The sandwich was on point; chopped brisket was moist and had plenty of sliced hot link with high had a hint of a kick. I didn’t care too much for the potato salad; it had big chunks of potatoes and is mustard based. The sweet tea was good n point as well. Would recommend
I always tell myself Im going to try something different but Im stuck on the ribs and brisket. Their meat is always moist and tender with the right amount of smoky flavor before you even add any sauce. I can never decide on hot or mild sauce so I get 1 of each to go with my meal. The smokehouse beans, greens and okra with their house ranch are my favorite sides.
