As a college student, finding a gourmet meal that is freshly made with quality ingredients and is affordable for a middle class diner is hard. Fortunately, I found both here. This is no typical Asian fare, and I would dare to say that this is the most cultured place I have ever eaten at! Thank you chef for opening up my taste buds to your culture and traditions!
This place is awesome! The food is delicious and decently priced. They also have a good gluten free menu. My only complaint is that it was difficult to quickly distinguish the actual gluten free items on the menu because every item ended with either "GF" or "not GF" in the exact same font and color as the item description (and not even on a separate line). There was also the confusingly worded item that "contains a small amount of GF", but despite that, I was able to order gluten free without much trouble.
Fantastic service and the food is even better!! A 'must eat' on campus corner :)
Go to order..pork spring roll with crunchie, pho with lemon grass tofu and beef.
I'm from CA, Came in w/my sister, & had late lunch today. Amazing customer service from the Owner! Thank you! The place was clean 😍 Awesome pho soup! I would return again.
Really fresh and tasty. I love that I'm full when I leave and never miserable. I wish there were more healthy places to eat such as Coriander Cafe!
The lemongrass tofu pho is my jam!! It's great every time. And if you eat meat, Artisan's Pride provides the best local stuff.
My daughter and I consider this our special place! We have mother daughter dinners and we always come here and eat Pho!! It's the best!! The food and the tea is amazing!!
Hands down some of the best Vietnamese food I have ever tasted. If you happen to be in the area or just passing through do not miss out.
Loved it! Kind staff, great food. Do your mouth a favor and check them out.
I have now visited Coriander Cafe 4xs. Each time, willing to give it another chance to satisfy my craving for the traditional Vietnamese food I grew-up eating. Each time I leave a little underwhelmed - this is not to say that the food isn't tasty, because it generally tastes good. Rather my disappointment is that the flavors are so subdued and that it falls short of my expectations and hopes for traditional Vietnamese cuisine.
My most recent visit was to satisfy my need for phở (delicious, aromatic broth soup with rice noodles etc.). I was about to place my order and asked the waitress about the meat options as I am used to picking out different cuts of beef to go in my pho such as raw flank steak, tripe, etc. The waitress was knowledgeable and said that they only offered the meat options they used for the sandwiches and rice bowls and not the more traditional cuts you'd typically have with Phở Bò. Seeing that I was a little more particular about phở, she volunteered that it was vegetarian phở (Phở Chay). This was not indicated on the menu and was a true disappointment to me. I prefer the deep, rich flavors of the beef phở which are created by simmering a beef bone with a number of spices for many hours. I find that Phở Chay is an OK substitute for the Phở Bò or even Phở Gà (chicken phở ) if you are just looking for a tasty, hot broth soup. I think the menu misrepresented the phở and they should have indicated that it is Phở Chay (vegetarian). As I knew that vegetarian phở minus the delicate flank steak wasn't going to cure my craving that day, I settled for a bánh mì (sandwich). The bánh mì was fine, a little heavier on carrots and light on daikon and the lemongrass flavors of the lemongrass chicken were almost undetectable. However, the meat was cooked well and was moist and tender. Overall it was a fine sandwich - fresh, nice crusty baguette bread, tender meat, but just very light on the potent and bright flavors that are the hallmark of traditional Vietnamese cuisine.
With all this being said, I won't reject the occasional visit to Coriander Cafe, but it also won't be my recommendation for traditional Vietnamese flavors and definitely not phở bò (I'd recommend heading to OKC for that). The prices are OK, the food is good enough, the service is fine, and it is Vietnamese food in the ingredients and composition (just not very high on the flavors). So if I don't have what I need to make Vietnamese food at home (or am too lazy) than I might go to Coriander Cafe, with the mindset of: "Well, I want Vietnamese food and this is kind of like Vietnamese, so I guess it'll have to do."
Sesame Ginger Beef and Lemon Grass Chicken Pho. So amazing on a cold day.
Very good food that's always consistent. Isn't it great when you go to a restaurant and can just tell the food you are eating was selected and prepared with love? The owner of this place cares about things like local ingredients and artisan meats. Eating at Coriander is always a good experience. We leave with smiles on our faces and happy bellies!
One of the best restaurants in Norman. This place is amazing, I go to Coriander frequently to get my fix. It is one of those great hole-in-the-wall restaurants situated right next to Victoria's pasta shop (another great one). The rice bowls are my favorite. The roast pork is very flavorful without having a lot of seasoning. If you're looking for bolder flavors then go with the spare ribs or the sausage. The Vietnamese drip coffee and the thai tea are really good as well. This place can get really busy really quickly around the standard lunch times so a late lunch or dinner would be better times to go if you're trying to have a conversation with someone. Great casual restaurant overall, I highly suggest this place if you are in Norman looking for something healthy and unique.
Delightfully Refreshing. This is my go-to lunch place. Everything is always fresh so you don't feel gross when you go back to work.
Noodle salad - superb.
Banh Mi - oh my tastebuds.
Spring rolls - rockin'.
I took my cousin here who had never had Vietnamese food and now she asks to go back all the time.
Fresh, Affordable, Great Food. I've been here a handful of times already and I always leave full and happy. Don't let the price fool you if you think it's a bit high — it's worth it. The portions aren't small either. I had the Pho Soup once with beef meatballs and it was pretty good. Not the best, but good enough for the area. The better ones I've had aren't in Norman at all. The last thing I had there was their Rice Bowl with beef short ribs. Heaven in my mouth. I love the perfect amount of fat with the meat and the flavor is just so rich. I think that's my go-to dish at this establishment from now on. You can also request whatever you order with fried jalapenos/sambal for just a small additional charge. It changes the flavor slightly and adds spice to it. I can't wait to go back next time!
Family Favorite. This is my family's favorite place to eat. The kids love the rice bowls, my wife loves the Pho, I love the noodle salad and we usually get a Bahn Mi to go! The shrimp rolls are so good and the peanut sauce is awesome. The pork egg rolls are another favorite. I love the ginger beef, but occasionally get the pork on the bahn mi. The lemon chicken is my son's favorite. We just love this place!!
Egg rolls to die for. I don't know what's so tasty about them, but they're just so amazing. Their egg rolls with the sweet chili sauce are a must try here. I always get the rice bowl with egg rolls and an extra order of egg rolls. Their banh mi sandwich is always a good option too. Food is always good here, service during lunch time isn't that good just because it's always so packed. Worth a try if you like good egg rolls.
A New Norman Staple. Warning: Those who are prone to addiction should stay far away. I easily come to Coriander Cafe about once or twice a month because of my addiction to the Banh Mi covered in Maggi sauce. Of all my favorite restaurants in Norman Coriander is the one I immediately recommend to those not familiar with the local offerings.
This is my favorite restaurant in Norman. Amazing food that is decently priced, FRESH, and never disappoints. I highly recommend the shrimp spring rolls. Banh Mi pork sandwich is out of this world. Rice is always good, pho is outstanding, and the service is amazing as well. I can't say enough nice things about this place. If I had to pick a perfect restaurant this would be it for me.
Great food! Awesome artwork!
Great for vegetarians, vegans, and meat eaters alike. Great food, great service. The ingredients are fresh, and it seems very authentic. We are never disappointed when we eat here. Service used to be slow when they first opened, but it's not any more, so give them another try if you haven't been in awhile. Great vegetarian and vegan options, but plenty of meat options too.
Best Spring Rolls, ever!. Coriander is fantastic! Inexpensive, DELICIOUS, and the owner is so nice. The wait staff is great, too.
Always great food, always great service.
I have yet to try the elusive coconut creme brulee...but one day...
Best place ever!. I absolutely love Coriander Cafe!!! The food is amazing!! So fresh and good for you! Probably one if not my favorite restaurant in Norman!!!!!!!!
Unique and Delicious. Extremely fresh and delicious Vietnamese cuisine. The food is consistent and there is something everyone can enjoy. You won't find anyplace like Coriander Cafe.
The best. Hands down. The best fresh menu. Best Asian. Best egg rolls. Best spring rolls. Best pho. Um...best owner. Best concept in Norman. Totally underrated.
Great food that I miss when I come home to Florida. When in Norman, I love to eat at Coriander Cafe several times during me visit. Wish we had a place like this in Ocala.
My favorite place to stop by when visiting Norman!!! Great food and always a smiling face ready to serve you... reasonable prices too...it's hard to choose just one thing to eat because everything is AWESOME!!!
Some of the best eats in town!. I absolutely adore this place!! The food is super fresh and delicious. Highly recommend the banh mi (and anything else on the menu, too). YUM!
Great Viet sandwich. I love their take on the French Vietnamese sandwich, its tasty and filling.
One of the best restaurants in Norman. I definitely love it. As a matter of fact, it has already become my regular lunch spot.
Loved it. Finally got an opportunity to check this place out. I do enjoy some Vietnamese food, and this place hit the spot. I had my first bahn mi sandwich, and it was delicious! The wife had a noodle salad with chicken, and it was also very tasty. Definitely adding this to our campus corner rotation. Give it a try!
Nice little joint for lunch. Had the veggie spring rolls for an appetizer- they are large and a cold food filled w cucumber carrot noodles lettuce maybe rice too, wrapped in rice paper I think. Good w their peanut sauce and Maggi seasoning! Main entree was noodle salad (again a cold food) with spicy Hoisin tofu. Tofu was good and cooked in a good Hoisin sauce. They serve it with an oil (not fish oil I was told) to pour over the dish. Very good- will be back to try other things.
So good, and that's why I'm sad. I've got a weird schedule, so I finally got to check out Coriander Cafe. They do an amazing job, and you can tell by the care and effort they put into the food. Fresh ingredients, superb cooking. I got the lemongrass chicken, spicy. So good! Sadly, I was crushed when I came back a week later, and they were closed on a Sunday. ahhhhh Sundays are my free days. Fine, I understand that they need a day off. How am I supposed to get my fix? Sad face. I'll have to remind myself to drive to Norman on a Saturday. Definitely worth the drive from north OKC.
My Norman Favorite. After being disappointed with a different campus restaurant today, we walked to Coriander, and even though I have been here so many times, it has risen to the top of my favorite restaurant list today. The food, which I've tried it all, is consistently awesome, fresh, thoughtful, and yummy. The service is always good, and the manager, who is delightful, is almost always there which ensures that things go well.
All around awesomeness.
High expectations met by even higher quality!. Went for lunch on a Saturday with my boyfriend. Was very pleasantly surprised by the freshness and quality of the food. WOW!! Springs rolls were the appetizer suggested by the owner and what a great suggestion. They were huge and truly awesome. I especially liked the added touch of cucumber in the roll and the signature "crispy" that added some fun texture. I ordered the Vietnamese Iced Coffee to drink which brews at your table. It was so tasty we ordered another one to go at the end of our meal. My entree was the noodle salad with roast pork. The pork was delicious and there was a TON of meat on the salad. So much I could only eat half. My boyfriend had the rest. He ordered the bahn mi sandwich and it was also loaded down with meat. He LOVED it. I am not a vegan/gluten-free but I was very pleasantly surprised by the many vegan & gluten-free options offered here. Hard to find in this part of the country. The only thing I would have changed was to see more people in there on a Saturday afternoon. Thanks Coriander Cafe! Keep up the good work!
Favorite place to eat in town. They really have it together.
Best place to eat on campus corner by far.
Yummy. Very fresh, great service, best Vietnamese food in OKC. My bf and I will definitely be going back. Thanks again Chris!
Great food, service and atmosphere. For a little American twist on classic Thai, Coriander Cafe is unmatched.
I love this place... I am a creature of habit so I find myself ordering the noodle salad and of course starting off with spring rolls every time I go there...until they started offering Pho (which its excellent also). Now I have trouble deciding what to get. Anyway definitely recommend it.
Pretty great. I have eaten at Coriander Cafe almost every Monday for over a year. It started out because Mondays is $1 Vietnamese iced coffee (which is absolutely delicious). However, it has become a recurring addiction! They are always working on their menu and I haven't had anything bad there. I lived in OKC for 1 year right in the paseo, and having eaten at almost every Vietnamese place in the asian district, I've been around the block at least once. This place is one of my favorite places on campus corner. I work at OU, so get burned out on campus food once in a while, but never Coriander Cafe. While I can get bahn mi for cheaper elsewhere, the food is always amazing. The noodle salad is flavorful and always made to whatever requests I may have. They have the BEST spring rolls in town!
Fabulous friendly cafe with fine food. Friendly, accommodating service. Yummy food from healthy, mostly local sources. Aesthetically pleasing food & environment. Vegetarian-friendly & omnivore-friendly menu very well designed. Excellent catering. Free wifi, wonderful spot for snacks, coffee, tea, lunch, or supper. Locally owned, creative business that has given a superb lift to Campus Corner in Norman. Try it, you'll like it!
Never disappointed. Best place to grab lunch on campus corner.
This is easily my favorite place to eat in Norman! My friend and I always start here for a place we know we can get a good healthy meal with fresh ingredients!
Can't. Get. Enough.. You can bet that if we go out to eat, Coriander is where we go. The food is always fabulous. The ingredients are high quality. Everything is homemade and completely fresh. We recommend it to everyone we know. No reason at all to waste money driving all the way to OKC when we have something so fabulous, reasonable, and refreshing here at home.
The co-owner is like family to me and has pursued excellence in bringing fine food to campus corner. Authentic and fresh food is such rare treat!
Great food, excellent staff, laid back comfortable atmosphere. One of the best places you cab go in the Okc metro area.
Solid addition to Campus Corner. Coriander's rendition of common Vietnamese dishes can be a little less intimidating for the less adventurous. The owner is looking to create something a little different that is also very accessible. The food is actually cooked when you order it, and there is evident attention to the details of each dish. Rice and noodle bowls are quite good, but the Banh mi sandwiches aren't as good as you get in OKC.
Staff and atmosphere are always excellent.
Need I say more? Roast pork... Delicious roast pork, great pate (need more pate in my banh mi please).
A bit pricy for a banh mi but definitely worth it. This tastes better than lee sandwich and you actually know this is real meat you are eating(or is it?)
Don't expand the menu please, stick to roast pork, make it better.
The roast pork is a bit dry the last time I eat there, please don't let it go downhill, I am desperate for non lunch meat sandwich.
Wonderful all around!. We had lunch there yesterday and loved every single morsel of it. Their spring rolls and vietnamese crunch roll is so tasty and fresh. The noodle bowl and french subs were so delicious and refreshing. And to finish off, we had the bread pudding that was so good that we almost licked the plate! Even my childs rice bowl was so good that I wanted to finish her food. We ate a lot but did not walk away feeling miserable. It was very refreshing. I wished I lived closer so that I can be here at least 3 times a week. Great job Coriander!
Yum. We tried this place for the first time. I remember the restaurant that was here before so I can definitely see the improvements in the decor. Cute bamboo wood benches, hanging lamps, new counters, etc. Has a very chic Ikea vibe. The food is Vietnamese and very tasty. I had the Bahn mi sandwich with Roast Pork. The french read is to die for. Soft and fresh with a flaky crisp crust. They have a good selection of teas and hot chocolate. I'm certainly going to get the Dark Raspberry cocoa next time. I just wish they have Pho, but I suppose they are going for a littler cafe style. The waiter even took order with his iphone.
Love the Food - Slow Service. I only write this because I really want this place to succeed and hope they can make some changes in order to do so. I love the food here. It is so fresh and delicious. But all 3 times I've been in, it has taken forever for anyone to even take my order... it seems like they only have one member of the waitstaff. Great food that is mostly worth the wait.
Great and Gluten-Free. I stopped into CC for lunch and was impressed. I saw on Urban Spoon that they claimed to be gluten-free friendly, and was impressed at their staff's knowledge. The waitress was able to immediately tell me my options. They substituted a spring roll for an egg roll and even made sure I got g.f. soy sauce! The mango salad was amazing!
So fresh and simple. Delicious food! Very enjoyable atmosphere and waitstaff. Amazing dessert.
Crisp and Fresh. Everything from the decor to the food is crisp and fresh! This is a delightful restaurant that I hope to visit time and time again.
Starting off with the shrimp spring rolls is always a good plan. The chicken lettuce wraps were delicious, and although the chicken was good, I will probably try the pork next time around for a change of pace.
All in all, a nice little place on campus corner.
I love this place! Everything I have eaten or drank here has been an absolute delight. Always a winner.
Deserves multiple visits. Although their menu is somewhat limited, probably because they source everything locally, I'd give this place a two-thumbs up. I like the presentation of the food, the care that goes into every plate and their chef does prepare some delicious stuff which probably owes some measure of credit to their locally sourced ingredients. I have never seen this place crowded and I wish people would frequent this joint more often.I really do want them to succeed.
Deliciously Fresh. The Coriander Cafe was my first experience with Vietnamese food, and it definitely won't be my last! Even though the menu doesn't have very much variety, I enjoyed my egg noodle salad. The meat was flavorful, but not greasy. The portion size was satisfying, but not over filling. The vegetables were complimentary to the dish and not mushy. Very enjoyable dinner :)
OMG! MY NEW FAVORITE!!. I have always considered Mexican food as my favorite food but love all types of food. After eating at the Coriander Cafe, this just may be my new favorite food. The food was really fresh and seasoned to perfection. The service was amazing also. This is a place me and my family will visit frequently The spring rolls are to die for. I strongly recommend Coriander Cafe to anyone who has a pulse. Try it out its awesome!!!
Must Try!!!!!. My husband and I had lunch here today and were impressed by both the food and the service. I had the Banh Mi with gingered beef and he had the Banh Mi with the korean sparerib. Everything was fresh and seasoned perfectly. We ordered the egg rolls and would have been happy just eating that. It was not greasy and we very rarely find egg rolls that we are impressed with. We will definitely be returning soon.
Awesome!!!. We've been 3 times since they've been open. The food is always super tasty and fresh, very reasonable pricing, and quick service! Try everything. :D
You would have to be crazy to not love this place! If you have not been, you've got to try it! A jewel on campus!
I love this place... Food is great and people are friendly.
Love this place; fresh ingredients, great flavors, and the meals are filling yet light enough that you can always get some amazing bread pudding after. The price is great too, plus the atmosphere is pretty and relaxing.
Everything Tastes Really Fresh.. No, seriously, it tastes like they just ran out to a garden and grabbed the vegetables. I love their spring rolls. They are amazing. We've been there several times since opening day.
My husband loves the sandwiches Banh Mi. They are very filling and he's a big eater. He also really likes the egg rolls. These don't have that horrible fried oil taste like many egg rolls you get places. They are light and crisp.
I usually get the noodle salad with beef, and I love it so much.
Also, one of the great things about going to new cafe's and restaurants is watching and sometimes getting to sample new dishes.
Lastly, they use an amazing brand of soy sauce. Fantastic.
Saturday, I had the Bahn Mi with sesame ginger beef and my little kiddos had the rice bowls with chicken.
The kiddos were very pleased. "Mom this is the best tastin' rice I've ever had!," and, "what kind of chicken is this? It's delicious!" were common phrases I heard from the back seat on my way back to OKC from Norman. (And truth be told, I confiscated several chicken chunks from each kiddo. I concur with their assesments.)
I thouroughly enjoyed my Bahn Mi. The bread was perfectly toasted. The beef was so tender. It pulled very nicely with evey bite. Not one bite was tough. And the meat was. so. good. Did you marinate it for days or something? I mean, really?!
The veggies were nice and fresh and crunchy. Such a break from the everyday burgers and fries. This is a lunch I could do everyday with no guilt! And what a surprise the cilantro was! It was this little burst of light delicate flavor. Yum Yum.
Any critique? Just a small one. It would have been nice to have a sandwhich that was cut in half versus having the full footlong. And perhaps it could have been because I was eating and driving at the same time. Either way, that sandwhich was gone before I hit OKC limits.
Thank you Coriander Cafe and know this, I will be back SOON! My goal: Eat the Bahn Mi with every meat choice! Who's comin' with me??!
The food is amazing, especially the Banh Mi (I recommend the sesame ginger beef or the roast pork) and ask for it spicy. The spring rolls are amazing and the peanut sauce is very authentic - get the "crunchies". Their pho is unique and delicious - 8 ask for extra cilantro and the spicy oil. This is a more modern and gourmet take on Vietnamese cuisine and they execute very well. Food is always fresh and delicious. Every time I'm in town I try to make a stop in! The banh mi is seriously the best I've had anywhere in this hemisphere.
Love this place locally owned and they source their ingredients locally. The food is amazing and when you order something vegitarian they make it obvious they care about that even down the the vegitarian fish sause.
Best rice bowls in Norman. I love the fresh flavor of the ginger beef dish I always get. Pho is fabulous as well. Ashley was very friendly and super attentive! We didn't have to ask for a thing because she had already done it all! Can't wait to come back.
Always a staple for good food that tastes fresh. If you're in a hurry this might not be the place to go because they do take their time preparing your order. Waitstaff is genuinely always courteous, the cooks prepare food in a clean and healthy way (who wants food poisoning), the restaurant is clean, and the prices are reasonable.
It doesn't look like much from the outside, but I have never been disappointed by the food or service. My mom once thought that spring rolls meant the ones you get from Chinese buffets, but they serve the kinds wrapped in rice paper. They offered to take it back for her. The people working here are great, the tables are always really clean, and the food is amazing and authentic.
Fantastic spot in Norman for modern Asian-inspired food. They have the tastiest pho in town. The rice bowls are amazing and so filling! I definitely have Coriander Cafe as one of my "guiltless" (in regards to both price and calories!) places in Norman.
Vietnamese food done right. Get the roasted pork Bahn-mi, spring rolls, and an iced coffee.
Love this place I wanna eat here every day. Reasonably priced. Need a some good side dishes though.
Coriander Cafe is a Norman gem. Their menu is simple, but allow so many different combinations and flavors. You could try something new or stick to your favorite. This is one of those places I can always be in the mood for. Their Phō is perfect for cold and rainy days to warm your bones, or a light and colorful rice bowl is a great light dish for a busy day on campus. They get their food from local vendors so its always the freshest possible. I will say though, if you go late in the evening, they can sometimes be out of ingredients, but this a fine price to pay for Freshness. The staff has always been good to me, and the atmosphere is wonderful. This is definitely a campus favorite of mine.
